Appreciate the insights! Software Engineer getting my foot in the automation door. I enjoy that you tackle the problem in a strategic way instead of the shiny bells and whistles I see on some other channels. Beat of luck in your continued growth!
Hi Nick, Thank you so much for all the value, the clarity, the steps and the logic behind. What I personally enjoy is that not only I am learning something that can literally transform my professional/financial life but as a bonus I am also enjoying the navigation between the high level concepts and the practical applications. Thank you 🙏
I started building my AI agency and documenting it on my RUclips earlier this year and I just turned 20 . I’ve built some Ai for gym’s and Accounting firms And this is all thanks to you Nick Thank you brother you gave me the confidence to try and start a persona brand. From watching your videos
What's never discussed is what work = what money? How do you bid this? People want to automate their incoming invoices. We know the process manually, how do we charge for the automation?
There are a few ways to do it, but personally I ask for a 50% upfront deposit, and then get the clients to set up a Make.com account + send me their creds. I usually do this on a kickoff call (just in case there are 2FA concerns). Afterwards, I set up the flow in Make.com, making sure I get usernames/passwords to any platforms I'll need to build ahead of time. Once I'm done with the build I record a Loom video walking through the system step-by-step. I.e what the client can expect, how to trigger it (if user-driven, almost always some sort of form, if event-driven, usually some sort of email or webhook). I run the Loom video transcript through GPT-4 and generate a piece of text documentation as well, and then send the client an email with all of it-Loom video, Google Doc SOP, example of output, and a request to try it for themselves. Once they're done, I bill them for the second 50% and push for a retainer of some kind. Hope this helps 🙏
Hi Nick, the idea to offer productize services makes so much sense! However I think I might need more information on how to exactly structure those services. I have a software development background and the work has been the exakt opposite of productized. How would I find out more please? Thank you for your work.
Hi Nick, I already watched a couple of your videos and I have a question about the pricing model. As I can see on your website, you charge a monthly retainer around 6000$. How do you convince someone to buy at this price, cause like an employee is as expensive as the service? And the second question is: Do you charge them software fees on top of the monthly retainer? For like ChatGPT or any software you need for the automation? Okay last question: Do you build these automations on your make account oder do your clients create there own accounts and you just have access to it. Thank you very much and sorry for the inconvenience about reading all this. Hopefully my english ist good enough as I am not a native english speaker. Thanks, love your content
Base salaries for COOs in the US start from $150k+/year. Nick's agency essentially acts like a fractional COO, offering consulting on how to improve operations. But unlike a traditional COO, who wouldn’t handle the technical implementation, Nick’s agency also automates and implements the improved workflows for you. So the ~$6k/mo is actually a pretty solid deal.
Hey Nick! I'm curious - when starting out is it necessary to have a website or can I use my notion pages/LinkedIn profile to leverage to get some initial client?
Not necessary at all! You can whip up a simple landing page in Notion and use that until you hit $10K/mo or more. Sites are just business cards nowadays (unless you're specifically building an SEO business).
@@nicksaraev thanks! I'm actually doing the same. I built 5 systems as my portfolio in AI automation and now doing outreach daily via emails or LinkedIn. I will secure my client in the next one or two week.
Great video as always! A bit off topic but could you do a video on how to use hidden APIs to upload files (is that possible?) for example, Loom's API doesn't allow uploading but the web app does. Is there a way to use an HTTP module in make to upload files to Loom and then find them?
Great idea. It's def possible, but not all hidden APIs will let you do this. I'll poke around and see if I can find one that does for demo purposes-thanks Peter
Hey @Nick, is Maker School also for beginners who have absolutely no idea about starting a business? For instance, someone like me-a software developer-who wants to go this route?
Hello, I hope this can get answered and responded to I am older with a chronic illness that causes my mind to not be clear I am intelligent and a very hard worker. I want to move into my retirement career so that I can free up time to spend with my grandchildren What would you say is the very simplest straightforward way in all of these wonderful ways that you have described to get started for someone like me? Feel free to ask me any relevant questions in order to determine the best route
Bro it's none of my business, but do you mind sharing your or your parents/grandparents origin? Are you Chechnian? I would really appreaciate your answer. Your name makes me wonder 😊
Lots of mystery surrounding the last name, honestly. My parents are Bulgarian, so the most likely explanation is probably that it's Turkic (from the Persian word sarāy, palace). One of my grandparents was born in Greece. All of them passed when I was young unfortunately, hard to know more.
Love your videos Nick! For someone who just started had a couple of clients outside of Upwork, what's the best way to stand out? Is it useful to post projects or is it a waste of time? I started implementing videos in my job apps recently and saw an increase in reply % but still struggling due to not having any past jobs directly on up work. Would love your feedback!
Great video! I'm one of those that's still sceptical / unclear about paid communities like SKOOL. Why would I want to pay (in some cases a considerable amount) to be part of a community, that's made up of peers who are also looking for contracts...?
Modern communities are really just an optimized packet of 3-4 things you used to pay separately for. I.e in the past, entrepreneurs took courses, bought templates, joined forums, and went to networking events. Today, most communities offer all of those in one package (usually along with some blend of accountability, comradery, etc). So you don't actually need to join a community-you could totally get any of those four things separately. Just a matter of needs.
Saying capitalism is a game where you have no choice is kinda deranged given that there could exist no system other than capitalism in which you actually have consent.
@@nicksaraev Kinda because it's not that there is no choice when you follow up saying if you know the game you can make as much money as possible regardless of one's background, which invalidates the point about capitalism not having consent cause you do have a choice (so not a good example), but yeah, get what you're tryna say. Anyway, apart from that, a solid 10/10 presentation as always.

“Saray” - Palace
“Ev” - house.
House like a palace.

Hmmm. Never thought of it from that perspective.
The community knows more.. it's more about people that want what you want
52$ per hour and 10.000$ per month would mean 38h per week only customer project.
unrealistic
Without understanding of a template
