I think Der eisendrache is the perfect example of a perfect Easter egg, easy steps to remember, good boss fight and a enjoyable result
Wisp makes me want to kill myself so I have to disagree
I agree, it's my favourite
Origins is also the same! but to be fair Origins was like Der Eisendrache 1 lol
de is the goat
de easter egg sucks ass ngl
I feel like a good Easter egg is something that would be meaningful for the story of the map. Like giving the player a reason to want to do it giving also a good reward.
Lex: "DE EE so easy"
yeah but try it without gobblegums that kill everything
@@redmist6630 still pretty easy

I think the best easter eggs:
Must be able to be done solo
Easy to remember steps
Very challenging
I think the hardness shouldnt come from stressing about looking up guides mid game, and from actual gamplay.
That’s why origins and gorod are some of the best easter ehgs
Facts
IW is literally all of those lol ez ee steps but challenging boss fights
@@voxolloid If you think about it, there are a lot of really good easter eggs. Some just overshadow some others.
I agree with your overall point but you kind of contradicted yourself on your examples. The average player will need to look up guides for staff codes on origins. On GK you are forced to go on kronorium for valve step.
@@garrett473 That’s one step that might need to be looked up. And if you are like me on Origins I always have the staff codes pulled up because I’m too lazy to remember them. But the rest of the egg is simple enough to remember after looking through or watching a guide for the first time. And you could also argue that the staff codes are just part of the normal map and not just the Easter Egg. Like most people are gonna be upgrading the staffs every game even if they’re not doing the EE. Kinda explained my thoughts badly there but hopefully you get what I’m saying.
The real easter eggs were the friends we made along the way

@@vividsights5244 not gonna ruin it
@@a.h787 i thought about it too😭
So true
naw the real easter egg was trying to achieve sexual intercourse with a lady
Origins is the first EE i ever completed and I'm bang average zombies player. It's not as difficult as people say it is. All you need to do is write down the steps/know the steps, have a picture of the staff upgrade steps and 3+ hours of commitment
I’m still yet to do it
But while although it takes a while, especially on your first playthrough, the more you do it, the better and faster you'll get at it. Practice. That's what it comes down to.
I tried on bo2 for a while, but since I was so used to Cold War and bo3, the two hit down system destroyed me. Went into bo3 and beat it first try without gobblegums. Just goes to show that bo3 is easier than bo2.
@@FlyingPenguin196 100% agree. I just personally like bo2 Origins more than bo3 Origins but to each their own.
Nah, it takes awhile to do, and you have to have those guides pulled up.
And really, if you think that isn’t that challenging, then you likely think it is still more challenging than most every other map, otherwise that doesn’t make sense
The best Easter eggs are the ones that are the most engaging, rewarding, and most pleasing. Simple formula for the best Easter eggs
Which is origins and most of bo3 since maps like SOE require some skill with the sword and the upgrade plus the flag step. DE has the bows which just require knowledge. ZNS has the challenges, GK has the 6 trials since mangler and valkerye step take a lot of skill without gobblegums and good coordination on co-op.
DE, SOE, ZNS are the best and most fun EE's. Most people hate the ZNS plant system, i dont mind it at all.
"Classified EE takes a different type of skill" WHAT SKILL? the skill of copy/pasting a code to shoot your gun and replenish your shield? this vid's a little scuffed
I think after like 5 or 6 brilliant Easter eggs it becomes hard to make more like them without making it too similar but I do agree
Really? I thought the best ones were the ones that were extremely long, boring, luck based, and you get nothing if you complete it.
I love how bo3 eggs range from zns and de which you can do easily in under an hour, to gorod and Rev with like 50 steps each, or shadows which you can't do solo and the flag step which can ruin your run sometimes. Whenever the egg is well integrated with the map, it's great
you can do shadows solo
@@christianthompson7915last step requires you to do multiple things at the same time across the map. If you've seen it done solo, then it's either just up to the boss fight, or it's with a mod
@@gabadaba5436 boss fight is the shadow man, the final step is 4 man, you can boss fight solo. Rev and shadows are easy lol
bruh gorod’s is literally just getting 6 trophies and doing the challenges tied to them for the most part
gorod doesn’t have a lot of steps to me. It is a very hard map thought ngl
Let’s not forget lex did the whole DOTN EE by himself & Noah & Ch0p had no clue 🤣
That’s a good ass video; drunk as well
Der eisendrache is one of my favorite easter eggs. Setup is pretty simple, but the boss fight is VERY hard if you have never done it before. Origins will always be my favorite, but a bit of bias since its my favorite zombies map of all time. Btw fuck Shangri-La, that easter egg SUCKS.
24:29 dude see this dude keep shilling cod ghosts lol
@@redmist6630 it is quite good tbh
DE is fun and ez but the Boss Fight for me is the worst part yeah its a boss fight but the boss doesn’t even do much to u its only the freaking panzers and they don’t die
Get head trauma or idle eyes makes boss fight easy
Me and some friends of mine have gone through every map and figured most of them out on our own ever since BO1, so I can say for a fact that if you wanted to look at it like that, it changes things alot. You know other than BO4 being downright impossible to solve in some cases
Bo4 ee was in the middle, I done two map with four people without a mic Bc some people didn’t talk on the mic but it was fun playing with them. Tag der toten ee almost end the game for me but I clutch it thanks to those player with the higher lvl than me. Never know the lower lvl like me can help or do ee with higher lvl player.
Not a very big zombies player, so I'm pretty casual with it. I would much rather have an EE that is fun and replayable. If you have something that's just 1234 easy, that's no fun, and if it takes 3 and 4 hours of nothing but training while you figure out something like number puzzles it's no fun. Give me a good replayable casual EE that involves some in depth (not impossible) puzzle solving, some soul chest filling and a decent boss fight and you're GOLDEN for me as a casual player. Make me a dumbed down RPG side quest as an EE and I'll be happy
Honestly Der Eisendrache is the one ive replayed the most, it has some challenge plus a bit of memorization. Its ending makes it worth it, and the bows are fun to use while doing it
@@R4GEplayers big facts, I love DE because the Easter egg is easy to repeat, and it's fun as well when you experiment with different strats/bows, etc🙌🙌
The ee I have completed the most times is Beast from Beyond. Having Directors Cut makes you be ready for the boss fight at round 6 and for that reason you can challenge yourself by using random weapons because if you fail it takes you like 15 minutes to get to where you were. Bo3 was my favorite zombies game but I have done little to none main ee because I have to prepare myself for an actual easter egg
@@LoWiQNo0b I love iw zombies, but i absolutely do not fuck with beast from beyond
The zombie pathing in BO4 is what makes those easter eggs so unfriendly to solo players. In BO3 you could outrun the zombie spawns and kind of manipulate them in order to despawn the zombie and buy yourself a few seconds to do the step. In BO4 the zombies stay tighter to the player and if you try to manipulate the spawns in the same way we did in BO3 the zombies simply spawns in front of your path effectively making doing the egg feel like a trip to the proctologist. Yes a few EE steps in BO4 strait up suck for solo players (the morse code step in BOTD for example) but if those steps existed in BO3 maps I think they would be much more manageable.
bo4 give the ice perk to freeze the zombie, very useful in solo. As a whole I think bo4 is hard, but gives you great tools if you know how to utilize them (perk+specialist+good grenades+elexir+salvo)
Morse code step in solo is easy if you use modifier Winters wail, it freezes the zombie for like an entire minute and can be done multiple times without killing it
@@tomrader013 shit is easy just ee’s are a bit tedious
Morse code was easy imo. I just took the zombie to cafeteria, then ran back to wardens and I would get one attempt in before the zombie caught up. It's never a hassle tbh. I recently went back to BO3 and completely forgot about the double slap mechanic. I didn't have a good time lol. I think BO4 is a lot easier, given all of the "get out of jail free" cards to use (pun not intended); Special weapons, auto assigned ABH, Dying Wish etc.
One thing about Gorod Krovi is that mk3 WW makes the entire ee easier. The left gun is useful for drone step, you can camp the gerch orb when packed, great for lockdown steps, and is insane against bosses. It only takes few spots to get Dragon's weakspots and you can finish Nikolai in like 5 sec.
41:22 this homie got me dyin when he said “laborious” 😂
My idea of a perfect easter egg is to make all the steps flow properly and be consistent, and have the steps be hard to find/solve, but easy to replicate. Also not that much RNG either.
I completed the Blood Of The Dead easter egg solo almost 20 times. I completed it again recently and every step is engraved into my brain. I regret it all, but it made me way better at the game.
For me a good easter egg is one that makes sense in the story, has a good reward, the ability to do it on solo and coop, and is mid difficulty, not botd and IX hard and not cw easy, bo3 maps are examples of this except maybe gorod
I like the new editing style in this vid, it makes me feel more engaged into ur videos.
I always thought Voyage was an easier map, since me and my buddy did it on my first time on Voyage. Looking at the steps though, I can see why it's a hard map.
I know I might sound crazy. But I remember when bo4 came out I did the blood of the dead Easter egg first try and I did it again without any perks for the calling card. I understand why it’s hard but I can’t remember why I didn’t struggle as much as everyone else is making it seem. I understand what you are saying so clearly.
I think because people also don’t understand you don’t have to understand clock terms. Voyage it’s easy you just look at the hands so let’s say: little hand - 2, big hand - 10 then you translate that to the wheel at the front or engine room or poop deck
@@iGotIceInMyRice420
To be fair, certain things do require more exploration and understanding. For a speedrunner, I’d imagine it being quicker, but for most people, you need to really understand what you’re looking at
I feel like the unstable launch of bo4 made people think different of the easter eggs, lex screaming about the clock step being hard??? You literally have 4 clocks to look at which are at specific areas on the map. The symbol showing which clock it is is also obvious enough to spot.
Good Easter eggs are when the steps actually mean something and represent a crucial part of the map and when completing it you’re left with even more questions and Knowledge gained through completing.
"If you have beat the blood easter egg, I respect you"
I feel respected (even tho i only did it once on solo)
doing that shit solo is insane, nice job
Took me 2:30 hours.
Oh nice, my time was 2 hours and 16 minutes, was a bit shorter because of good afterlife box locations
@@s5killer953 man, i tried to beat botd ee like 40 times and i can't do it but you guys are legends i respect you both brothers.
Der eisendrache is perfect imo because it's memorable with slight challenge and a great challenging boss fight with amazing cutscene and story stuff
I’m surprised that Origins is so high. I just soloed it yesterday in about an hour or so and thought it was pretty easy.
It used to be hard, it’s the most popular in the zombies community so there’s so much content on it which makes it easy. I get what you mean tho
I’ve been trying to beat it since 2015. I’m so horrendous at zombies and I never get better.
Compared to a lot of others, it still is harder. Takes longer, takes way more knowledge, and is progressively worse to do with less and less players
@@spiner2315
Nah you’ll get it bro, I believe
@@Jonathan-A.C. thx 💪💪
Need a video for ranking maps based on how hard they are to figure out with no prior knowledge
Absolutely.
Shit like Rev would easily top the list. Fuck that map
Number one should be the beast from beyond with the chees queens step...it's a legit master class chess puzzle 💀💀
is there an intuitive way to do the gorod valve step?
I actually think the ancient evil one is harder than voyage. Aside from the boss fight and setup, the rest of the steps on ancient evil actually take competence and are difficult most of the way through compared to voyage. Once you get to the boss fight once or twice on voyage the rest of the Easter egg is super easy until the fight each time you do it
I have record on ancient and they’re both easy
Ngl gorod krovi was definitely my favorite one I also had such a good time completing it everytime and never got tired. The steps where really that annoying or hated them which only a very few Easter eggs had. Just everything about it made it fun and also not to easy or not to hard. Would always help people do this Easter egg everytime.
In my opinion, a good Easter egg is one where it's not so ridiculously hard, but rather when you have a sense of accomplishment and feel rewarded afterwards.
Kinda like getting the Storm Bow in DE. Not incredibly hard but a little challenging, and rewarding
I find Dead of the Night EE pretty fun to do, the trials of PaP and Mausoleum are pretty fun to me, and the bossfight fits perfectly to any hyping song
It's fun but I wish the steps were easier to remember with not many locations for stuff
@@PriestlyBlock67 yeah just the silver bullets are the whole tranzit easter egg
Believe it or not my favorite Easter egg to do solo is zetsubo. Besides for me dying on the zip line because I still don’t know how to actually drop from it, it’s all fun to do solo and easy-ish to memorize
Pretty sure it's whatever your melee button is.
I have always asked myself how people die from the zipline step, You just take the zipline from the búnker, and instantly melee, is that easy :p
forsaken has to be the easiest easter egg if i can figure that shit out with out a guide
Mad probs if you found out the RC car step then. Firebase Z is the only one my mate and I found out on release day by ourselves. I kinda think of it like an achievement.
The hardest and most annoying part in Forsaken for me was to destroy those damn orbs flying around the three crystals. Truly infuriating combined with a gazillion zombies and mini bosses. Especially in the bunker.
COTD is harder than Forsaken only because the wonder weapons are only in the box. That's pretty much it.
Not just that, old zombies with two hit down is a bit harder to open the map
Where as forsaken and cw in general, it's impossible to die
Then there’s me over here who has only done 2 eggs ever… first being transit then origins 😂😂
same for me but i've only done IX and ancient evil lol
I did deez nutz machine splitscreen
Big up the new editors they add a whole new element to Lex's videos and make them that much better.
TheDon is going to appear under your bed at night
that liam clip bruh 😂😂 4:48
Ranking BO3 Easter Eggs while running mega gobblegumbs is just plain stupid. You have to rank them using classics only or none at all. Ofc Zetsubou is easy if you have 9 perks.
I absolutely loved b02 . I was also 20 when it came out. It's weird listening to all the people who were around 10 to 15 years old and what they think of it. I recently got back into zombies after 10 years, and it's been very interesting listening to the hard-core fans and youtubers. They are all so young and are so used to polished gamed. B02 was absolutely fine when it came out. Tons of bugs, but we were used to that. Transit was some of the most fun, and so was die rise. I was talking to a friend of mine about this after realizing now that people hate those maps, and we were talking about how awesome they were. To be honest, buried and MOB were sick too, but nothing like the way people praise them now.
As an above average zombies player, I have done the gorod and ancient evil Easter egg but I have never finished the first step of blood or voyage. So they are definitely harder imo
i finished every ee except botd, dotn and tag(because i didnt play it more than 2 times) and i can safely say that gorod is pretty simple once you do it 1-2 times, i remember me and my buddy doing the ae ee in 3 attempts but man botd and dotn can go to hell
@@Simith that shit is all easy 💀💀💀
The voyage boss fight has a wipe mechanic that can down everyone but it blocked by dying wish. If you're on thr wrong platform in Ancient Evil when it gets destroyed you're dead end of story
A good easter egg in terms of difficulty in my opinion should be on the line between easy and hard. Because if it's so easy that a beginner can come into it and complete it after a few hours, I feel like that trivialises the experience of everyone. But if you need knowledge of the map, the gameplay mechanics and the easter egg itself, that makes for a good egg. Obviously the latter is true for all of BO4 EEs, but those are too difficult for me personally to consider any one of them "Good". All of those Easter Eggs suffer from the mechanics of their game
As someone who's done the Blood of the Dead easter egg, I see this as an absolute win!
A main EE should be able to be done solo. And it would be cool to get like a perkaholic for beating them
I actually love maps that’s are detailed and have a theme for example I love the dead of the night theme the vampires can get a bit annoying but it’s still an amazing map
Lex and his brain cells, love em
brain cell* lol
I beat Blood of The Dead solo. It took me MONTHS to learn. I think around a year? It sucked. But it was worth it.
Didn’t he forget Tag der toten
Personally I feel like the best easter eggs are the eggs that make narrative sense, arent ridiculously tedious but also arent glaringly obvious, a great example of what I mean for a step is with Bo2 tranzit, powering up the tower. Who the hell thinks to go out of the main play area and do that shit, but it also makes sense.
Believe me when I say Cold War Zombies easter eggs are the easiest ones, I suck at this game and I have completed them on Solo xd
They are it’s not even an opinion just a fact I mean the guides are under 20 minutes
@@Deathmare235 True, they are a joke compared to other games' easter eggs
Qualities:
- Sensible, logical steps that won’t send you back to the RoflWaffles guide each time you do it
- Lore
- Rewards, particularly along the way. Why Origins/Eisendrache is peak
This will help the salmon population I think
Personally, a good easter egg would be a mix of hard to find easter eggs with a side of in game help like black ops 4, the riddles were pretty cool and the easter eggs took a little time to figure out
a good easter egg obviously cant be too hard or too easy but other than that i think the difficulty should be based around the story for example i think the shadows of evil ee should be easier to do than the revelation ee
I wasn’t active in the Community after Chronicles so I ended missing out on the launches of Spaceland, BO4, and even Cold Wars. However I’ve been going through all of them, as of recently, and I have to say… BO4 gets more shit than it deserves. There’s a few minor flaws with it sure, but I actually really like BO4.
In fact oddly enough I pretty much enjoy all of the Chaos maps, yes even Voyage. No cap. Ancient Evils is probably now one of my Top 5 maps of all time with Dead of the Night trailing right behind it.
Can’t say much on the Aether maps as I’ve barley played any of them but so far first impressions…
Blood: I think it’s ok.
Alpha Omega: Wtf…
Tag: Eh…
Classified: Haven’t Played. Though I’m also not a fan of Five so… I’m not expecting much.
i've done the botd easter egg 5 times and i will never get those 10 hours of my life back
I literally just did the forsaken Easter egg because somehow I missed it. Literally did it first try with no resistance. The hardest part of the EE was shooting the orbs around the crystals💀
Easiest easter egg. The giant
Also Nuketown
Idk why the giant wasn't down there lmao
i like easter eggs across the board, some for the people that like hard easter eggs, and some for the people that like easier ones
Nah vanguards ee definitely the hardest 🤐
34:24 something about hearing lex complain again and again is so funny to me
Just the Voyage boss fight is already harder than the entire andicent evil EE
If this included non-Treyarch, the hardest would either be Mephistopheles or Tortured Path. Mephistopheles requires a level of coordination that nothing else in Zombies has ever required of you and it's fantastic for that. Tortured Path however required a level of optimization way too high to even be slightly fun. I'd still give Mephistopheles the hardest but WW2 in general had some difficult stuff
I actually like the co-op Easter eggs. It always brought me and my friends closer together.
I think co-oped games would be more fun.... but my friends aren't that interested in doing them
Loved that this was in my recommended after spending almost 2 hours on the Outbreak 1 EE just to lose at the boss fight for my first attempt solo
Hot Take: I actually kinda like the Blood of the dead Easter egg. Now I know that the Easter egg steps themselves are terrible. I won't argue with that, but everything after out character's are captured by the warden is sick as hell. First of all some of my favorite dialog exchanges between our main cast and the warden. 2nd pay off for The weasel. 3rd cool ass chase sc3ne that could only be improved by banging rusty cage in your ears. 4th it's pretty much the only time in zombies as far as I can remember where our characters felt like they were in real danger, like they were racing a figure more colossal and powerful than them. 5th Revelations Rictofen showing up last moment to finish off the warden. 6th Rictofens Sacrifice which in my opinion is one of the most impactful and emotional moments in zombies.
lex’s chat lying like crazy talking about “this is so easy!” “ive done this 3 times” like shut your aahh up 😭
Der anfang's easter egg is the easiest one, you don't have to do a single step to complete it
Nah it has the hardest Easter egg, having fun
IX is so god damn easy me n the boys have done it so many times that’s crazy he put it so far up damn
I disagree with voyage being a bad map or having a hard ee. Idk man the clock step is so simple yet cool, the 4 lockdowns are pretty easy if you even have the smallest idea what you're doing. Then the planet step, I think this is one of the coolest steps we ever got. Again don't think it's hard just maybe will take a few tries to learn. The icebergs can be challenging without homunculus but aren't too bad. The bossfight is very hard. If you don't have the helion it's super challenging. Idk I like voyage and don't understand how some people say they always get lost if you take 3 matches and just play the map it's not bad at all. Also I'm a DotN lover. The multiple spawn locations are not that hard to learn, it's just most people don't wanna take the time to learn them, yet have every record spawn, shield, maxis drone, and staff puzzle on origins memorized. Idk BO4 is a good game, not amazing but gets a lot of hate and it sucks. AO and Tag are super sub par especially AO but BO4 is super similar to BO2. Some of the best maps mixed with some of the worst. Also I'm a strictly EE player I don't enjoy the hours you have to spend for high rounds and get bored playing casually just an FYI.
I just beat botd today and the hobo step was one if the hardest mental challenges I’ve gone through in life recently
Imo your favourite map has something to do with this, eg i think Lex’s favourite map is gk so he finds that ee fun to do. for me it’s either shadows or ae
“The end boss fight for zetsubou is super easy”…. IVE DIED EVERY TIME!!!! Lol
First time I’ve ever played blood of the dead, my friends and I died on the last step (walking the ghost) because it was round 38. It’s the only Easter egg attempt I’ve ever made on the map.
I took me and my friends multiple tries to finish the blood Easter egg mainly because first the fuckin game would blue screen sometimes, the bird step would glitch out for us, and just the whole game itself would glitch out. When we talk about doing the blood Easter egg we just wince everytime
Ix may be my favourite Easter egg to do and imo has some of the best replay value of any egg but it’s definitely not hard
Sea legs (voyage ee with no downs) was one of the most stressful experiences of my life
from 7:50 to 8:24 lex just losses all of his brain cells and just likes shuts down
Der eisedrache is the perfect easter egg
Hardest egg is darkest shore followed by radioactive thing, objectively.
Outbreak 1 is one of the hardest boss fights ever
Lmao love that call of the dead vs Foreskin
Personally i think the Easter eggs where you have to run a zombie around for 20 mins are the most miserable to play - not nessesarily "hard" but hard to sit through and play
The thing about ancient evil is that during the ra step you can just run out of the room and the zombies will follow you and wont block the beam
The bo3 origins ee is hard due to the lack of the staff glitch, the bo2 one is ez peasy
2:33 Foreskin LOL
Being 13 years old playing bo2 zombies was some of the greatest times I’ve had in my life. Crazy how it’s been 10 years since then…..😢
Small problem
CotD will outright refuse to give you a VR-11, making the easter egg literally impossible to finish
Perhaps it's just my horrendous luck
I did every Easter egg on bo3 without the extra old maps included. Expect for rev and GK. I got stuck on GK. Never had the chance to do rev cause I never did GK. Then never got the chance to keep the game when I re switched consoles from ps4 to Xbox one. So yeah. Just my input from way back when I played hella GK on launch. It was the hardest Easter egg ever for a launch. W video fam much love.
Bo2 has, is and will probably be one of my favorite games. I’ve been on bo3 tho cuz I got a ps4 a few months ago
I was just about to say bo2 was my favorite but ig I already did
good timing for me cause got back into the easter egg vibe so gonna try to do DE today!
beating a hard EE feels so good but also is so annoying if it’s blood of the dead.
the ancient evil placement was crazy
The best easters are fun to do easy to learn hard to master and most importantly aren’t annoying to do
I will never forget, one day close to the release of BO4 I decided I wanted to do Botd as my first EE solo, after around 4 hours I got over halfway and paused to go and take a piss, literally a minute later I walk in my room and on my TV I was in the main menu... I had been lost connection to the server while solo and paused for about a minute -_- I still have not completed an EE to this day
12:20 idk top 5 couches was my favorite pat video
Outbreak’s egg is easy UNTIL you go underground, then it’s a real challenge considering how outbreak is done, where you don’t get small breaks between rounds, everything is done on the fly and then you got the legion fight. It’s just a gauntlet which adds so much ti the challenge
‘Those easter eggs are fucking laborious’
Lex’s brain constantly sounds like the intro to on sight
Yo this list is pretty relatable
Hardest and easiest I’ve ever completed:
Easiest: Forsaken
Hardest: Origins
i think a perfect EE is one that’s simple but physically challenging and takes a moderate amount of time to complete, and uses the wonder weapon(s) in it consistently. and has like a decent boss. something like the final reich hardcore EE but if they made the tesla gun variants any good other than the hurricane and like made the boss fight actually tricky and if they made spinning the box make any sense. just that.
For some reason when BO4 came out I was obsessed with beating the voyage EE and got to the boss fight solo like 4 times
the fact that i’ve done all possible solo easter eggs including blood of the dead made me realize i’m a decent zombies player from this video
Now do all IW Easter eggs solo
I love seeing lex stress about blood and yet i did it with a freind first try with no problems, it was the hardest one but i think bo4 eggs were the best, challenging as to actually be an achievement yet not impossible, pluss zombies is a co-op game just be thankful you can do it solo considering in the past most eggs required 4 people
