I've listened to both Jeremy Jordan's and Aaron Tveit's version, and Jeremy's sounds like a jokey but heartfelt first version of the song that gets a dramatic and sincere reprise later on, and Aaron's sounds like that reprise. Both wonderful performances, and such different tones.
You should listen to Ben Frankhauser's version!! It's SOOOOOO smooth!!!

Can we all just take a moment to appreciate those few random strands of hair sticking up? I think they deserve to be appreciated because they are fabulous.
Why I think this interpretation is the best: There aren't any bells and whistles. He doesn't add any improvised flourishes, but solely relies on his acting and the quality of his voice to communicate the passion of the character. Also, let's talk about that head-dominated belt. By FAR the healthiest singer who has performed this song and one of the healthiest singers on broadway right now. Aaron Tveit is simply the BEST at this song.
i much prefer michael arden, he just seems to put so much emotion into it it surpasses any other version i have seen, even this one. Aarons voice may even be a little better, just michaels emotion totally wins me over.
DTGeek155 - you have summed up perfectly exactly how I feel this song is performed. Aaron is an amazing talent due to the reasons you've mentioned. He doesn't just sing a song, he acts it out as well making it so much more enjoyable. Especially after doing Les Mis. his career will most definitely flourish. Looking forward to what comes next.

Aaron Tveit is incredibly talented. I am so happy that people outside of Broadway are starting to stand up and take notice. This young man is the whole package. Hope we get to see much more of his talent on screen and on stage.
