Amazing bridges, the Ayub and the Lansdowne, looks so similar to Sydney Harbor Bridge in design(of course that is a vehicle traffic bridge)... This whole areas can be developed into a tourist friendly area with spectacular surroundings and bridge views...
Wow , didn't missed a single Seconds... Great to know the history of the Ayub bridge and the Lansdowne bridge... You literally showed all the trains arrival and departure from Rohri... And the best part of this video bi liked was boat view of both bridges and cool breeze after 41 departed khanewal... Looks like all 4 different provinces have different landscape and it's own beauty... And punjab looks the most greenest of all provinces... keep it up...
Thanks a lot Nabarun. Railfanning at Rohri was great.. its one of the most busiest. I even missed a few.. All provinces have their different landscape and beauty. Punjab is indeed the most green.. thats why Punjab (i.e. land of 5 rivers)
This bridge! These bridges in Pakistan fascinate me. I am from Kolkata (Calcutta), India, purely middle class. I don't even have a passport to begin with. It is virtually impossible for me me to stand there for hours, observe, photograph these bridges. I have seen them first on some BBC documentary by Mark Tully maybe about twenty years ago on discovery channel. The scenes and your video literally give me goosebumps. I am big fan of your railfaning passion, the willingness to punish yourselves physically for the pure joy of railways. Love, respect, salute to my younger brother from the Hindu, orthodox elder brother of yours from Eastern corner India
As Usuall a great journey loved the sukkur rohri break .Full info and advanture hope to cu your next video soon. This is good idea take shalimar both ways than is well day time .
Loved the boat trip on Indus. Imagine coming to Sukkur from Karachi (by what is now ML3 through Kotri) and being ferried across the Indus. This was solved by the Lansdowne Bridge spanning about 800ft. in 1889. It is a very strange looking bridge and predates the double-cantilever design (that of Howrah Bridge in Kolkata, spanning about 2,300 ft.). That small middle section of the Lansdowne Bridge had to be hoisted up from the river level. The Hyderabad-Kotri 5-span truss bridge was built later in 1900, allowing UP trains from Karachi not having to go via Sukkur but through Hyderabad. The Ayub Bridge is a spanning-arch bridge of which the most famous is at Sydney Harbour. You got the sunset too.
