I call it the backpack rule. If there is more then one or two backpacks at the table then I know it’s not a game I wanna play. Grinders always have backpacks z Two backpack maximum. That’s my rule.
I really appreciate the question of the week this week! I felt like you gave some good insight on how to tell if people are grinders or not thank you I knew some of the things that you said, but I hadn’t really thought of every one of the things that you mentioned
That [33] hand is your own fault. At those stakes with that specific action there is no way the guy doesn’t have the virtual nuts. He gave you the chance to escape cheap and save yourself hundreds of dollars, you just didn’t take it for some reason. The Smashing Pumpkins rock.
Good one. Spotted that lost in the IPhone thing decades ago too. Except back then it was the "Magazine or Book" guy. Just so frickin' obvious. Basically loose players however still present the same way. Multiple sports betting sheets/tickets laying next to them. NOT racing forms. Sports Sheets.
Clarify please: If they walk to the cage to get chips, they ARE more likely to be a good player? As in, taking a breather? Or did I mis-understand? Adding two cents: those who have extra buy-in chips in their pocket or backpack = grinder.
Hey Ben, love the vlogs keep em coming! Was wondering if you could post the names of the songs on your intros and outros going forward? You got some jams!
One of the worst beats that I've ever seen happened when I was dealing and flipped a card. I flipped the Ad and replaced it with another A still giving the player AA. Gets it in preflop 150bb vs KK and gets four flushed by the Kd.
Bart Hanson mention: CHECK. Kayla appearence: CHECK. Mention of his stupid hockey team: CHECK (Go Sabres!). Mention of a band that had it's period of relevance a minimum of fifteen years ago: CHECK. Mention of Giants/49ers: NO CHECK.

in a previous vlog you mentioned you had a lot of thoughts that ST louis couldn't really get a game bigger than 1/2 to run consistently. as a STL player curious to know your thoughts on why and maybe a question of the week!

I had a similar hand where the first card I was dealt was the Js and then the dealer accidentally flipped the As while tossing me my second. It was replaced with another J. Flop was JJ6 rainbow. I failed to get any action. Never fold 66! (At least for a reasonable amount) I truly believe you flop more sets with 66 than any other pair. While technically you have the same odds of hitting a set with any pair, in order to flop a set, you need to see a flop. This means you have to have at least 1 opponent. If your opponent is holding one of your set outs, your odds of hitting a set are cut in half. Hands containing a 6 are, overall, the least played. For example, A6 is considered to be the worst Ax combo. So for a reasonable amount, I will always play 66,77 and 88. Nines can get you into trouble, because they're just good enough to make you want to continue when not flopping a set. 1010-AA are the hardest to hit because your opponent(s) are going to be most likely to be holding a blocker.
Interesting, im always curious about where a player gets his money from, inheritance, government assistance or just plain rich parents pay him to leave them alone, lol, all those types are the best opponents 😊

@@joyride1598 yeah but those are far fewer. A backpack is generally a pretty reliable indicator of a pro or grinder.

Nice vlog. I live outside of DC and watched Bryan play back in the day!
I just tell people to muck their hand when they say "you got it" and I don't have a pair

It wouldn't have happened except for....shoulda taken that left in Albuquerque.

Flop a set and most Pros know faster than the speed of light.

Uh, yeah, CLEARLY.
God I wanted that guy in the first hand to have the octo crab so bad lol
I’m only going to buy in my 1-2 and 2-3 games with $100 chips so I can be a good player in your eyes.
Was card dead for hours, the dealer turned my card over a K, my other card was a K, Ive held a grudge against that dealer since then.
