    The fine weather arrived here today! Obviously it was terrible when I filmed my video on Tuesday. Sadly today gardening duties are calling.
    Evocative image the Roman villa rotting and abandoned. Not even considered useful for storing crops.

      Yeah it is really hot here and I think it has just got started temperature wise. 15% of Roman sites in this area showed continuity, which is low compared to other areas. In Gloucestershire and Oxfordshire they threw up wooden roofs and let animals dung on the mosaics. There is a temple to Apollo near Bath which was converted into a metal workshop in the Sub-Roman period, its altar turned upside down and reused. What a drama it must have been in that period!
