  • WE DID IT!!
And I say we, because, in this case it really was a TEAM EFFORT!!
My resistant ewe finally let her lambs drink without me helping!!
And once again, I'm reminded to never give up!
And for those who have been asking, I humbly show off my failure of a garden. LOL.
    Hey, its my first try.

Sandi let me give you an southern spring treat, take your fresh lettuce, clean a bunch slice a red onion or some spring onions . Fry up a couple strips of bacon and crumble over the top. Use the hot oil and stir in some apple cider vinegar and pour it over the lettuce and toss and serve hot. It’s called wilted lettuce .

Hey Sandi.. I’ve watched your videos everyday for a couple of years now. I just thought I would tell you that you have kept me company and lifted my spirits with every video.. August will be a year ago that I started fighting a life threatening severe form of psoriasis all over my body. I have been in chemo drugs and I have bern bed ridden almost from the very beginning. I have bern very strictly quarantined along with my amazing kids and husband because I take several meds that severely lower my immune system. I have lost all the skin on the bottoms of my feet and hands and psoriasis covered me literally from my scalp to the bottom of my feet! I look and feel like a burn victim. I have lost my hair and all my nails as well. I fight depression and have lost all my self esteem and self worth. It’s been just horrible to live through with so much pain. I wanted to let you know that your videos are the escape for me and give me a few minutes to smile and loose myself in your precious, precious farm and animals. See, I grew up on a horse and cattle farm. We had goats and chickens and a bunch of other pets like a one eyed goose. I unfortunately, haven’t been able to provide that type up life for my 3 kiddos, but they are also animal lovers as well. You bring happiness and excitement to my day and give me something to look forward to every morning as I watch the clock to get to 12:00!!! You may not realize it, but your videos are so uplifting and your kind spirit and love for your animals is a testimony to what loving, kindness, giving, caring, protecting, and cherishing the life of living animals is all about. We all need this in our lives nowadays, and your heart, smiles and excitement for your adorable sheep is is overwhelming. You are simply an amazing farmer, woman and mother!!! Thank you for sharing a little piece of your life with us and your precious, precious little babies! I consider you a friend everyday that visits with me and encourages me to continue my fight against this debilitating disease! Much love to you and your family! ❤️❤️❤️❤️

@D H - Oh DH, I'm so sorry to hear about your battle with psoriasis! 😢 💔 I hope & pray you obtain relief or a miracle cure someday soon. 🙏🏼
I have heart trouble & lots of allergies - I need a hazmat suit just to step outside! 😂
I had NO idea how terrible psoriasis is. June 2020 an unseen flying insect stung me near my elbow when I was swatting mosquitoes. What looked like ringworm spread & morphed into pustular psoriasis. We haven't found an effective treatment yet.
I love watching Sandi's videos, too. She's a wise shepherdess with a compassionate heart. I'm learning, laughing, even crying right along with the heartbreaking moments, too. I grew up on a small farm, & miss
being around & interaction with animals. Sandi gives me my daily 'fix ' ❤️😊
If you'd like to see a few other farm animals with their own personalities & quirks, in a loving family environment; try visiting 'Weed Em And Reap' YT Channel. They usually post twice weekly now. 💕 😊

@@carolynchadwick7867 I can’t believe you have the postular psoriasis. That’s what I have on my hands and feet. I lost all the skin on both due to it. It was months before I could just stand on a pillow. And that was to finally be able to step out of bed o to a potable potty. I’m still breaking out, but not near as bad as it was. You need to ask about soriatane. I take that 3 times a day and I take cosentyx weekly. That’s the o my thing that got mine under somewhat of a control. I was on methotrexate. That is a serious med! I lost my hair and all my nails and toenails! I had psoriasis all over me from my scalp literally to my toes! It’s so so painful! Sometimes I still can’t walk! But, I’m
Better than I was and I’m thankful for that! We even had to put up an above ground pool for me to lean over a float and walk around it to be able to build up the skin on my feet for a while before I could take steps with a walker. I will include you everyday in my prayers and hope you get better! God bless you always! ❤️

@@DH-un9el Hi, I'm so glad to hear from you! I hope you're continuing to improve. Every positive step forward is something I'm thankful for.
How unusual that we both have the same rare type of psoriasis! I'm in Florida & the heat & humidity cause my physical problems to get a worse. Living alone with no relatives near has its challenges too.
On Feb. 28, 2021, my heart went into Afibs, for first time. My heart diagnosis about 30 years ago is chronic stress-iinduced PVCs. It's well controlled since then, with my Christian faith, relaxation methods, prayer, music, stress reduction, clean diet etc. Using Nitroglycerin PRN for chest pain (very seldom) & taking Metoprolol (Lopressor) daily to slow heartbeat have worked for 3 decades. I'd had PVCs since my 20's, but was undiagnosed until heart-lungs spasm put me in hosp.
So, Feb. 28 I had different severe chest pain. Nitro didn't work. I felt really weird & couldn't get a clear pulse. Called 911, spent 3 days in hosp. We still haven't definitively found the cause. Heart Cath. showed clear arteries.
Wore a heart monitor for two weeks, nothing there.
Last week had a looping heart monitor implanted. It transmits nightly what was picked up that day
If they see something weird, or I feel weird etc. one calls the other & they'll check the readout & advise.
Less invasive than Cardiac Ablation Surg. in the hosp., which could also find nothing to fix. Then, still won't know the cause.
Until Feb. 28, I'd never heard that Afibs could be chronic. I've had numerous relatives to suddenly die of heart attack, including my Mom & her Dad. No warning, someone walked into the room & they were dead
. So that's why I'm trying to find the cause(s) of what happened Feb. 28. It's not a fear of my departure from this life, but I hope to solve the mystery for my next generation. I don't want them to endure the sudden shock, grief & "what ifs" so many of us did. I have grown children, grandchildren, nephews & nieces.
Other EMTs were hammering me with questions about Afibs, meds, symptoms. But returning to Afibs & symptoms, as they were hooking up tubes & rapid-fire asking & telling what they were adding to the IVs, & talking to driver & ER.
When some of the pain was subsiding, I became amused at the scene, like an early episode of Grey's Anatomy, before all the psych-sex-drama was added.
So, when they Again went at questions about relatives, me & Afibs: I told the EMTs, ALL I knew was TV hospital shows where somebody shouts, "Afibs! Paddles! Clear! Boom! & the patient lived or died." (Pity, they didn't laugh, or smile‼️) 😂 But they did seem to get the point!
I've a weird sense of humor by some standards. But it suits me.
      Prov. 17:22 (NIV)
"A cheerful heart is good medicine, but a crushed spirit dries up the bones."
All the creams etc. did very little on the pustules, inflammation, insane itching, painful burning, peeling etc. Couldn't sleep at all. Felt like wild blackberry brambles had wrapped around my arms. But kept telling myself, at least it was only one arm. The doc said he hadn't heard of just one location, had seen palm & feet, & all over. I replied I don't think I could have handled that. You are one strong lady. I'm in awe of your resilience, & thankful you have a supportive family. 💕🙏🏼
The best topical for me is Betametasone-Dipropianate. Doc wanted me to be 2 wks twice daily, skip 1 wk. Repeat. But I couldn't be off it more than 3 days & the pustules would be too bad. So now it's everyday. My skin in that area is getting very thin. Tiny blood vessels are almost on the surface.
They wanted to put me on Humira shots, but my Insurance denied RX coverage.
So ins. okayed Acitretin 25 mg, once daily. Common brand name Soritane. Doc wanted to discontinue after 30 days, after discussion agreed another 2 mo. I've begun 3rd mo. Appt. about 2 wks. The side effects are getting worse.
A mo. ago I joked I'm "Pig Pen" on Charlie Brown, with his patchy sparce hair & the cloud of dust that surrounds him, & blanky in-hand. Mine's a scarf to cover visible sores, which attract stares & questions, & scare small kids.
I've lost at least two-thirds of my grey shoulder-length hair. Shedding clumps fall everywhere. It had been straight, average thickness. Now it's fine as lambs wool, frizzy & brittle from dryness. Reminds me of Red Skelton's "Clem Kadiddlehopper" character‼️🤣
If it gets much thinner, guess I'll wear a scarf.to hide the scabs from sores on my scalp.
Hand palms & feet soles are peeling in very thick layers. (IMHO More side effects of Acitretin) Cuticles & hangnails peeling. Nails getting very thin.
All-over itching spells usually late afternoon like allergic reaction drive me nuts, makes the skin tingle. If gets too bad, an OTC Benadryl helps calm it.
I've peripheral neuropathy (hereditary not diabetic) & lymphedema in legs & feet. Two small weeping blisters on lower shin.
Because of my age, meds, & Acitretin, the dermatologist & Nephrologist run blood work every 2 wks. To prevent kidney & other organ damage. Also, monitoring my auto-immune markers.
      * After the initial thick peeling of both soles about 2 wks ago, the new skin remained tender & hurt to walk on. My feet have always sweated, but discovered yesterday when changing dressing on the blisters, that both of my soles are weeping, too. 🤔
Question: Do you have places that weep clear fluid? If so, what do you use to contain the fluid? Socks, bandages leak. My shoes get soggy. If I go out for errands, I don't get enough done before I must return to replace socks etc.
So far I haven't had pustules on other than my arm, but I'm getting a lot of small sores all.over & either don't heal or return after healing. One is one of the biopsies that reported no problem.
I hope you receive this soon. I just discovered your reply today, was re-visiting this Vlog & going through the Comments. YT doesn't give me much of my Notifications.
I pray you & all your loved ones are having a good Summertime.& making some happy memories. 💕💕🙏🏼
Thank you for any ideas on weepy skin. ...other than sleeping in the bathtub‼️🤣💕

Sandi, you have to fertilize and water your garden. Get a hose with small holes punctured down the whole length of it and lay it along (beside) a row, let the water run slowly for awhile and then move the hose to the next row for a bit and so forth till you have the garden watered. You can do this every few days, depending upon the heat and the winds, etc.. You will notice a huge difference in the growth of your garden.

You might want to reseed some of the squash. Thankfully summer squash plants are usually extremely prolific but I know your garden is for multiple families. In total I have seven summer squash plants (three varieties) this year but plan to donate extra produce.

Try germinating your seeds in peat pots in warm frame and planting and immediately mulching after planting, that will reduce the amount of weeds you need to contend with, reducing your labor in the garden. Also, raised boxes will greatly reduce your stoop labor for weeding, and prevent a tractor "accidentally" mowing over your garden plot.
You probably have the materials on hand (boards, clear sheet plastic, chicken wire fencing or wire (to train your tomatoes, beans and peas) brads or heavy duty staples, nails etc.), you go girl!

Thanks for the update on the garden. A bit of a reality check to put your time, and money into seeds etc and then weeds or bugs move in and take out half the harvest or more. We have been gardening and preserving for decades and I still wonder if we could keep ourselves alive if the food chain totally collapsed.

You are such an inspiration. Get to visit with you and learn at the same time. Wish there was a way I could truly let you know how special you have become in my life. How much your time and energy put into your vlogs mean each time they are viewed. Am so greatly thankful for you.

Hi Sandi, You show us your vegetable garden. When I look at what ind of soil you have used I am not amazed about the result. Try the following. Take some of your bedding and mix it with the hey that you don't want to feed the sheep and mix this into your soil. Your soil is like a dessert for most of your vegetables. If you look how successful gardeners treat their soil you might understand my comment. A pumpkin would love to live on your old bedding pile and you only give it some sand! Love to see all your episodes!

Hi Sandi! If you are having a problem with pests eating your garden up i recommend using diatomaceous earth and sprinkling it around your plants. needs reapplied after rain but it really helps me keep ants and beetles off my zucchini and broccolli! its a good alternative to pesticides.
