Charlie is a kind and conscientious shearer, it’s back breaking work and he did a lovely job on the boys and girls, thanks for letting us watch Sandy .....Jules
Watching Charlie shear is always an awesome experience. Loved watching Prince William get sheared - he behaved so well! Billy is such a sweet thing, even as a ram rather than a lamb, and I love that it's more than just getting his dad's good temperament (and looks!). Any dictionary would have to have a picture of Billy next to the definition examples of Mama's boy. ♡♡♡♡
Charlie needs his own RUclips channel. I can watch him sheer sheep ALLL day. It's incredibly satisfying. Promise he would have a ton of subscribers. Kind of like The Hood GP but sheering.
I remember shear day when I raised sheep. Hated every minute of it, as i sheared my own. Thanks for the nightmare reminder. As for the nicks, some breeds have more natural wrinkles and nick easier. They heal in a few days. Sandi, you might explain the wax buildup areas are sweat glands in their pits! You have a lot of interested watchers and you do a great job of explaining the sheep business.
Awwww, Billy moved to block those lambs from getting any Mama love from you. I could see a look of relief on the faces of the rams getting rid of all that hot wool.
I hope you're still watching! Kenzie is actually more of a help these days. She still gives me heart attacks, because most of the time she looks more like she's chasing... I used to think she's a border, but her style is more like a kelpie or a koolie, and now I wonder if that's wat she is, which would explain her herding style. I need to watch these old vids from the very beginning. I have only been watching for a couple months.
I just LOVE it when Charlie comes!!!! They look so much more comfortable afterwards. It is fascinating to watch Charlie work. It's like a dance he does with the sheep!!! So, what happened with the "unicorn?" Is it part of a horn trying to grow? If it is, what do you do about it?? Leave it? Remove it?? Is the Billys' wool more difficult to shear? It looked like Charlie struggled a couple of times. It also didn't look like the Billys' were sheared as short as all the white ones. Probably just some type of illusion. Thank you, Sandi, for showing this video. If RUclips does something to your video, is there some way for all of us to contact RUclips to complain about what they did to your video?? Thank you again for making this video!!! 😍🐑😘💞💞💞😍🐑😘
Mel Wallace I think you are a very good observer. I also noted the black Billy's made Charlie pause a few times - and i do think its just a little harder to see contrast in a body of curly black hair. Or it just looked different after all the white hair, i don't know. But I do think there is an illusion involved here somehow. Don't know for sure of course.
I think it is an illusion. I assume the places the black fur grows has black skin underneath. As opposed to the white sheep you can see the pink tone to their skin underneath after they are sheared making it look shorter.
Thank heaven for industrial fans, the only thing that keeps me from dropping over in the barn some days! Watching Charlie with shearing and the farriers that do our horses' hooves always makes my back ache.
Charlie is so gentle with the sheep, it is lovely to watch. Your older boys really needed a good haircut I'm sure the rams appreciate it. they don't look stressed at all.
The shearer’s work hard to keep their blades-olden days and combs-modern times sharp. They change the cutting combs throughout the day. The combs are sharpened every day on a grinder.
Hahaha re: "you look so weird" at like, 21:53, I feel that. My show lamb Beau, from 2016, looked so handsome and when we slick sheared for fair I felt like I was looking at a whole different lamb, I could have lost him in a crowd if he wasn't yelling at me. He was wrapped around my finger.
Hi sandy! My self and 14 yo soon who is autistic look forward to seeing your videos....thank you for doing them....we both so appreciate you and all you do! Love and blessings to you and your family!!
Hi Sandi, I want to know how is this graphic? The sheep are getting shaved they show groomers on RUclips shaving dogs so whats the difference. I can see if they showed the animals being butcher but that not the case, and sometimes nicks happen same as dog grooming. So if they don't like it go somewhere else to watch videos and tell them to mind their on business. So what's next for Sheepishly Me keep up the good work and see you in the next video🤔😯✂🐑😊😘
Note: this is not my opinion. I believe Charlie is an amazing sheerer and he does amazing work. There is an angry cadre of jerks who have a set way they feel a sheep should be sheered. Charlie does it a different way. Because of that, they always flag these videos as animal abuse. It isn't. On top of that you get the usual mass report from the angry vegans who think any sort of farming is abuse and yeah.
Animal cruelty groups think that using the pressure points to prevent kicking and wiggling is inhumane. They complained so much to RUclips that they demonatized her videos of shearing. In actuality, using the pressure points helps reduce wiggling and keeps the animal safer and reduces the nicks. Uneducated individuals sticking their opinions where they dont belong. You are correct, it is the same as grooming a dog! If sheep dont get sheared they can become very sick due to overheating and having to carry all the extra weight. Wool sweaters are heavier than cotton so think of sheep carrying that extra weight, not good!
Guess they have no idea that their Vet clinics use pressure points to restrain animals (when needed) as well. It's handy, it doesn't hurt them and having a controlled animals makes it safer for all involved.
A lot of animal activist people say it's "cruel" because they get a few nicks here and there. RUclips was taking down any videos without warnings that contained it.
I’m so glad you are showing your shearing videos! I so enjoy watching them and anybody who says it’s cruel doesn’t understand it. Thank you for sharing it ❤️
The older Rams were more chill, like they knew it was going to feel better after. But they all looked like they were pretty chill. Awwwwww so much cooler.
Like a lot of people whose jobs require bending, they will have back issues. Those issues can't be greatly reduced if people like Charlie practice self care (core strengthening, stretching, massage, Chiro) and if they do get injured to take the time and be diligent in physio and/or rehab.
I helped my best friend sheer her sheep and couldn't believe how greasy/oily they are under all that wool. I learned a lot...love how fresh/clean they look after being sheared! :)
I'm glad you showed this. I have seen a lot of shearers. Charlie is great. It is so satisfying to see them lose the wool and be cleaned up and cooler. Thanks!
YAY, Billy's first hair cut. It's funny I always think back to '60's hippie days. They go to boot camp and get shorn and come out fresh clean and ready for the next day. The nicks, scrapes are a part of life human or sheep. Ever nick your face shaving (male) or nick your legs (female) same difference. 98.9% of the time they do not bleed. A good shearer knows this and practices safely. Charlie is one of the best from what I have watched on your videos. Great video Sandi.
Charlie is amazing. He is one of the best. The sheep will be so much cooler. I bet its like wearing a wool coat in the summer. It's going to be hot here in Illinois tomorrow too. Heat indici of 100. Not looking forward to that. Thanks for showing this phase of care It is so interesting.
Charlie is so skilled. I've watched other folks do this and Charlie's movements are so easy and fluid, and he works in a fraction of the time of other shearer's. Huge stress reduction for the sheep.
I absolutely love love love watching them go from fluffy and dusty to bright shinny white! Or black in Williams case! They look so happy when it's all done too! Bet it feels soooo nice!
I love shearing day it is weirdly relaxing to watch. Sir William actually looked relaxed having it done. Billy on the other hand looked at you like mom how could you even let this happen, but boy is he even more handsome now. I think next time you should leave a little bit on top of his head because his curls are adorable lol
Could watch Charlie shear all day, it’s effortlessly and the outcome of the wool leaving the sheep must make them feel so much happier and a heck of a lot lighter. OH BILLY boy your so handsome 😍
This is the one part I don’t miss about raising sheep. The back breaking work of shearing. Even though I just was a helper cleaning up the wool or catching the next one. It is just back breaking. And stressful sometimes. Glad you have a great guy like Charlie to come and shear for you. Love your videos and the sheep’s.
Charlie is just awesome at what he does. I think clipping horses is hard enough! But shearing sheep - a whole new level! Thanks for sharing. Billy and co look fabulous!
I love your clipping videos. My Dad clips sheep around the country and I always go with him to pack wool and put sheep up the crush. Billy looks so beautiful! Are you going to use Billy for your next breeding section? I have been listening to your podcasts the last few days and they are very good!
I'm so glad you've kept showing everything, including shearing! I love seeing Charlie work, and that's not just because I'm a dog groomer. It's fascinating. :)
Yay, shearing day! So glad you decided to show sheep shearing again, it’s part and parcel of raising sheep, if they DON’T get sheared it can actually kill them. If anyone objects, they can go eff themselves. Peel your sheep! 😊
I remember when Dad would take my brother and me to the barber shop in mid-june (after school was out) for our summer crewcut haircuts. We didn't really like it, but it sure kept us cool in the hot summer months! Seems similar.
I love shear day and am so glad you posted this! The Billy's did really well, especially Prince William. He was so chill. You should make some winter hats with the black wool and wear some for winter and sell some with the meat boxes! Or channel Merch!
Hi Sandi!!! that is so wonderful! Shearing is so fun! I love it when they shake it off and walk away happy! Billie is such a CUTIE! Have a nice weekend! Love you Sandi
Billy is so cute ! Need this just back from my best friends funeral yesterday haven’t been sleeping well lately last night my head was so overrun thank you sandi x
I love watching shearing day. That first shear, you can almost see the relief in his posture as all that will comes off. It must feel so good in all that heat to take your Woolies off 😁
Thank you Sandi! Just love watching the vlogs. Charlie is awesome with the sheep and let him know we love watching him do a great job! You having a good days brings a smile to my heart. Your "bad days" make me want to show up to help out then have drinks and girl time.
Hi Sandi, Hope everything is going well with your Family. I love watching Charlie shear the sheep especially Billy. Your very lucky to have such dedicating people in your life. I watched Mark's video yesterday. You all are like a vitamin for me, I have to watch everyday. Please keep up the good work and tell Carissa my Family says hi!
I feel the same on the Suffolk. For whatever reason, they always catch my eye & especially the Suffolk lambs.. love those stockings & face markings. Did she ever say why she's breeding them out? I never caught why exactly.
@@julieenslow5915 I don't remember what she said about keeping them apart, but wasn't it because they were too young? Keep them safe from the big boys back when they were still growing!
@@TheNellehFox Yes I do believe you are right. But if they are breeding this time, are they big enough? We know whenever they move in with the rams, they will have to be integrated into that group and will almost definitely be at the bottom of the pecking order. Does that mean they might get injured? I don't know! Others have managed it - but were they this young? There is the key point. Are they ready for breeding? Yes. Will she breed them? Will she integrate them? There is the question!
@@julieenslow5915 Its also way easier to integrate new rams into and established herd when you have already separated the rams, so with the sorting of breeding and the separation of the rams when they get thrown all back into together the pecking order is gonna have to be reestablished anyways so they wont get focused and picked on because they are new because everyone is "new"
Did anyone else go “aww” when Billy walked between Sandi & the other 2 young painted rams? He’s jealous of mum’s attention 🥰. I’m so glad Sandi still shows the shearing despite the “controversy”🙄 because I find it really interesting. It’s so satisfying when they go from wooly mess to a nice clean sheep, ready to face the summer heat
Sheering sheep is not any different than a man shaving his face or a lady shaving her legs and it helps keep them cool. There is no graphic content in doing that work. Thanks for the great videos.
I have the answer why RUclips doesn't like this; The sheep/rams kicking and Charlie applying the pressure to those necessary points. It seems like animal abuse to RUclips and to the special snowflakes that never seen this done.
Thank you for sharing this process! I find it so satisfying. Maybe they don’t like it for the 2 minutes they are getting sheared but they forget about it and seem glad to have less hot wool on them! This is necessary for the sheep’s health and it’s bs RUclips has an issue with it.
Billy and his fellow ramlettes look just smashing. We all appreciate a new hairdo, and they definitely will be cooler with that man-scaping Charlie did for them.
Don't forget we get wicked humidity in Ontario, so you can get 35 C BUT with 90% humidity which makes it feel at least 5 degrees higher, and you can't cool off by sweating.
You're very fortunate to find someone that works as hard as Clarissa. She is a gem.
I appreciate the care and kindness Charlie shows, but what impresses me most, "No butt crack" thank you!!
I wouldn't mind seeing butt crack. He is a hottie!
Thought only plumbers showed butt crack🤣
Charlie is a kind and conscientious shearer, it’s back breaking work and he did a lovely job on the boys and girls, thanks for letting us watch Sandy .....Jules
There's nothing wrong with shearing, if done correctly. it's just like sending your dog or whatever to the parlor for a clip.
Is somebody saying there is something wrong with it? It is necessary--they are bred not to shed so it has to be done.
@@DCFelix67 The "Animal rights" activists that don't know what they are talking about whine and cry.
@@PhantomQueenOne I would think it would be the opposite cuz it has to be so hot for them.
@@louann4992 like I said, they don't know what they are talking about.

Freshly peeled sheep!!! I always feel like shearing looks like peeling potatoes while trying to keep the peel in as big of a piece as possible
kinda like orange rinds. either way, peeled potatoes & oranges smell better than peeled sheep 😜
😂
Yes! PEEL YOUR SHEEP!
I love how Billy got between you and the other boys in their before shot. Jealousy? And that the other boys wanted to get up and come to you.
I noticed that too, he just stood there like “uh uh, she’s mine!” 😂😂 Too cute!!!

I love shearing day!!! Shearing is such a great thing for any wooly critters. Sheep, llamas, etc. i love watching it ❤️
And I like knitting the wool. And wearing it so much nicer and warmer than synthetic
She talks too much
Leanne driver. You talk rubbish. Listen to her. You might learn something even if it's just how to be a nicer person!
How often do sheep need to be sheared?
I love hearing you talking sweet talk to your sheep. They really are a blessed flock to have a mom like you!

I can hear the rams saying to Charlie---"Just watch the family jewels"
or " ' Um, mister human, this is so disconcerting. ' '' LOLOL
Did Billy just block the other 2 from getting some loving from Sandi ?.. 😆
Awwww, Billy moved to block those lambs from getting any Mama love from you. I could see a look of relief on the faces of the rams getting rid of all that hot wool.

LOL, 2:15 Billy didn't want to share your attention and blocked off the other two from the fence.
It amazes me how the shears work so well, and obviously this fella is a Master.
I know that these shearers spend years in apprenticeships b/4 they're "off on their own"...at least, the reputable ones are 😉
The shearer’s work hard to keep their blades-olden days and combs-modern times sharp. They change the cutting combs throughout the day. The combs are sharpened every day on a grinder.
The blades are cut very sharp. I used to shear my own and have made a ewe into a buck by accident

@@julieenslow5915 Its also way easier to integrate new rams into and established herd when you have already separated the rams, so with the sorting of breeding and the separation of the rams when they get thrown all back into together the pecking order is gonna have to be reestablished anyways so they wont get focused and picked on because they are new because everyone is "new"
This nursery rhyme comes too mind!! Ba ba black sheep have you any wool? Yes sir, yes sir 3bags full!!! Lol. They look happy and cooler!!
When do Billy Jr. And the boys join the adult rams? They all looks so much more comfortable with that wool gone!
They are too young still, and will need to go through a vet check for conformation, and sperm court before they can breed.
Hi Sandy I’m interested in knowing more about the sheep with the “horn”. Was it actually a growth or did it come off during the shearing?
Some happy fresh shaven boys and gals!!! I always love shaving day ❤️❤️
Charlie sure makes that look easy!
They look great all shorn.
It's not graphic content, youtube is just being an overly sensitive snowflake.

I feel like those sheep get up and feel wonderful and cool. People are so ridiculous about farm life.
People who use the term snowflake are usually the most fragile
There are negative nancies out there who get upset if they get a nick or two
Sheering sheep is not any different than a man shaving his face or a lady shaving her legs and it helps keep them cool. There is no graphic content in doing that work. Thanks for the great videos.
Those people who shear sheep for a living deserve every penny they get paid also it pays to be ambidextrous when you are shearing.
So cute Billie gets between you and the other two rams when they walk over to say hello! He's saying, she's mine.😂😂😍😉
Billy knows he looks good. You can tell he loves showing his new look off 🥰 bless him ❤
I'm honestly just wondering what laundry detergent Charlie uses to get all the lanolin oils out of his pants...
And iam sure he doesn't have a problem with Dry skin!!
I have the answer why RUclips doesn't like this;
The sheep/rams kicking and Charlie applying the pressure to those necessary points. It seems like animal abuse to RUclips and to the special snowflakes that never seen this done.
Charlie's the best. So ambidextrous. We are farmers. The Rams look great. Billy and the boys grew up so fast. Fun to watch and learn. Blessings
Thank you for sharing this process! I find it so satisfying. Maybe they don’t like it for the 2 minutes they are getting sheared but they forget about it and seem glad to have less hot wool on them! This is necessary for the sheep’s health and it’s bs RUclips has an issue with it.
Did you save some Billy wool?
lol, not much different than when I went into the military...barber always asked how you liked to cut your hair then went right over the top.
It's so funny after they are sheered, it's like they talking crap to Charlie lol 😆 I love it
Billy and his fellow ramlettes look just smashing. We all appreciate a new hairdo, and they definitely will be cooler with that man-scaping Charlie did for them.
33 or 35 is not hot, here we go over 40 a lot over summer. in south Aus.
Technically, that is not hot. it is Blistering Hot. Ouch!
Right? She was talking about 33-35 degree days, and I started considering emigrating for the cooler weather.
Maybe so, but for Southern Ontario, it's hot! Or we are all just wimps! :) :)
Don't forget we get wicked humidity in Ontario, so you can get 35 C BUT with 90% humidity which makes it feel at least 5 degrees higher, and you can't cool off by sweating.
It’s considered hot because we go to negative that as well. Very extreme.
I like the way your black Ram shredded over like they were wearing tuxedos to their wedding
Kenzie is adorable on Fast Forward
Charlie has one tough job , much respect to these hard working folks 🥳 !
One of the adds on this video was for fancy nail polish, I laughed.
