Building and Testing Circuits with halo2-ce: An Introductory Workshop

In this workshop, Mason Liang (ZK Circuit Engineer, Scroll) walks through how to get started building and testing circuits in the halo2-ce environment. Working from a provided Github template, you'll learn how to approach building zero-knowledge circuits in halo2-ce, which is an extension of the proof system used by the Ethereum Foundation's PSE team's zkevm project.
This workshop was held specifically to support hackers in the ZKP / Web3 Hackathon, hosted by Berkeley RDI and in partnership with ZKP MOOC. Category 4 in the ZK Circuit Track asks hackers to build and optimize RIPEMD-160, Blake2f or SHA2-256 hash functions in the halo2-ce ZKP framework. Scroll will award the top project with $15,000.
