Been one of my favorite bands for so many years!
I love watching DGD reaction videos. Often I'm bummed by how much people don't pick up on, but the whole time I was like, "hell yeah. she gets it." To me, Man of the Year is the pinnacle of their production. And Evaporate can just be replayed infinitely, especially since it calls back tons of older songs in the end - and features the current singer too. Just a couple of the absolute bangers if you haven't tried them out yet.
Their entire discography is worth checking out in my opinion, they've went through a total of 4 clean vocalists now (as of a couple months ago), and there was even an album where their guitarist did the harsh vocals. Each album has its own unique identity while still having that feel of a Dance Gavin Dance album. Their first and second albums showcase Jonny Craig on cleans and Jon Mess on harsh vocals, though his style has drastically changed over the years. Their third and fourth albums showcase Kurt Travis on cleans. Their fourth album does have Will Swan, their guitarist, on harsh vocals. For their fifth album they brought back Jonny Craig and Jon Mess. Every album afterwards has Tilian Pearson as their clean vocalist and Jon Mess on harsh vocals (who you heard in this song). A couple months ago the band announced Tilian has stepped away from the band and will no longer be their vocalist. They now have Andrew Wells as their clean vocalist until they find a replacement.
Unfortunately this singer left 2 months ago but they released 2 new songs recently with a new singer Speed Demon/Straight from the heart

Their long time bass player Tim Feerick who played in this song and many of their albums sadly passed away a couple years ago, and their singer Tilian departed from the band this year but they're still going strong.

Jon (Screamer) lyrics can be amazing or nonsense lol, better off just not knowing sometimes, but they are fun.

So dgd's lyrics follow a formula of the clean vocals being the meaningful lyrics and Jon's lyrics being more abstract and random. I think Jon's lyrics make the band more fun to listen to but others read his lyrics and are turned off by how silly they are. I recommend reading the lyrics to as many dgd songs as you can. Jon's lyrics are awesome.
also I highly suggest you farm their videos and react farm lol, every song and video has a strong meaning behind them, their older stuff is amazing as well. Hope you enjoy as much as I have over the past 15 years!

Tillians recent departure was the end of this band for me. I came into this band with tillian, I’ll be leaving with him.

At the end of the day it's Will, Jon an Matt who make this band so good. The clean vocalist role has been filled by like 4 people over time

Personally I’d disagree as I like Kurt’s era and LOVE Jonny’s Era most of all, I also came to the band from Tilian but I found the other vocalists/eras of different sound better in my taste. W tho✌🏽✨
This music sounds very like Danish band Mew: I highly recommend you listen to them. Their youtube vid is well worth a watch. Mew Live In Copenhagen 2006 (High Quality)
this band has been through a lot, especially with the clean vocalist. but ill recommend you some newer songs/songs they’ll definitely play at that show. We Own The Night (their most popular), Synergy, The Ghost of Billy Royalton, Speed Demon/Straight from the heart, War Machine

This is the one band I would ever go to a concert to see. Unfortunately tillian and the band parted ways (because of creative differences/goals). I hope I will still love the band with the new clean vocalist, I know I liked some of their recent songs a lot. Also my favorite song from them is summertime gladness I think, though I like most of their songs
