I have replaced the Defrost Termination switch in my stand alone freezer.. It was easy to do, thanks to your video. But my unit is still not cooling enough. Originally the temperature was not dropping below 8°C. Then I unplugged it for overnight, & left the door fully open. Next day I replaced the switch, the freezer was at room temperature at about 20°C. After replacing the Defrost Termination switch, my unit has been running for 5+ hours, temperature is now at 10°C. The temperature has dropped from 20°C down to 10°C after 5 hours. My understanding is that after about 4 hours the freezer should be at normal cool temperature of about -18°C. But this is not happening. Any suggestions??? Freezer is Electrolux Icon. The part replaced was exact same part as Fridgedair.
I have a Frigidaire Refrigerator FFHT1513LW2. I had problems with a warn refrigerator, cold freezer. After querying online I replaced the Compressor Start Relay, that didn’t work, then the Defrost Timer, then the Temperature Control Thermostat, that seemed to work, but now the refrigerator is getting colder and colder. No mater where I adjust the Temperature Control Thermostat knob, even all the way to the left, the warmest setting it freezes my 2 liters, bread, etc. Is my Temperature Control Thermostat defective or what? I also get a loud snapping noise, like someone snapping their fingers loudly, ever so often. Thanks for you video.
My Kenmore upright automatic freezer would ice up solid in a couple months. I replaced the heating element, thermostat and timer but it still iced up. Figured out that the defrost thermostat was mounted too close to the heating element. This caused current to be interrupted too soon so the coils wouldn't get enough heat to melt the ice. Solved the problem by moving the thermostat away from the heating element to near the top of the freezer coils. Voila! Been running a month now and the coils are free from ice!

Hey, freezer side by side the freezer only getting down to 15 degrees, fridge actually too cold? Any suggestions my friend? I cleaned the coils, they were very dirty but no change, this is our 2nd fridge in the garage. Thanks much. I haven't pulled the back to check for frozen coils yet. FYI no water lines hooked up since it's a garage fridge Thanks much
The evaporator coils are super clean, no frost at all but the fan motor works fine. Isn't that a problem? Isn't it normal to have a patina of frost on these coils if it's working properly? IF my fridge (Kenmore Coldspot side by side10658785890) runs long enough it will cool the fridge and freezer very cold. BUT the fridge will not stay cool because it won't start again sometimes until temp is over 60, or I have to manually mess with the temp control dial to initiate the start. The compressor seems very hot and if there's a cold tube sending freezing freon out, it just feels tepid to the touch, not cold at all. I intend to replace temperature control only bc I have the part. Could it need a coolant recharge??
