What a perfect line, every corner was taken with absolute speed and precision! Those cars are so amazing! They look and sound so much better than the closed spaceship looking cars they race today! I remember when they where new and how I loved their look in the nineties! Are there even open Prototypes left? It’s a shame you only see cars with a dome these days..
On a more narrow track like this (compared to LeMans) you so see more of the incredible acceleration of this cars. Awesome! Nice driving! Thanks for sharing. Why are the stands so empty?
If you look at the right as he heads down the finish/start straight, there are a few people in the stands there ( I'm probably one of them). Not many spectators attend these events , their loss !
That was some terrific laps - he is leaving the Audi in the dust. What series has LMP1 cars? Or when was this shot? I can;t believe there are so few to witness a true race car making the paces around the Glen
This was at a SVRA vintage and historic sports car weekend. This event wasn't open to the general public as it cost much more money to use the track if it is open to the public. The only people at the event are members of SVRA.
Shane, I just left you a message on your FB account where you can find my phone number on the About page. The info I get about how to mold a wheel for you from this in-car cam is all I need. I did Michael Schumacher's wheel -- when he drove for Benetton -- with a phone interview and two fax'd hand tracings. Overnight the wheel to me, and I'll have it back the next day....good job driving, btw. Reminds me what my Lister could do if it had traction! 650hp/1950 lb ;-)
or the north eastern motosport fans aren't a fan of the sport. I tell you, if i had the funds i would buy most of the tickets and hand them out for free just to get the stands full. such a shame.
