Fans of Triumph here in the states are always up against the same general criticisms of the brands models that were notorious in the mid to late '70s particularly the Stag and it's little brother, the TR8/TR7. Most of the flaws were due to cost cutting and poor workmanship from the labor issues. With a bit of common sense re engineering and retromodding, these wonderful cars can come to life and fulfil their potential as wonderful British sportscars. I have to say, as a big fan of the lovely Stag, this is by far the most beautiful example I've ever seen. I'd love to see someone apply the same level of quality and workmanship on a TR8. Great post!
Hi Andrew - it is still at Alan's but pretty much finished. Unfortunately he's been off work for a few months so we are patiently waiting. Meanwhile plenty to do on the 2500 S. Haven't forgotten about the car, just life things getting in the way! Best wishes Tony
Yes it is, costs around £650 but not only sounds amazing but increases the power to 150 BHP but also the torgue, so it's a win win in my books, and probably increased mpg as the engine doesn't need to work so hard to attain the same speed !
Can someone please tell me why lots of people replace the original Stag steering wheel with a hard wooden Motolita wheel? This looks like the ultimate stag, but in my humble opinion, I think it would look far better with an original Triumph steering wheel.
Magnificent !! If only the Canley/Speke factory produced cars (in the dark BL days of the 1970's) could have had the quality and build as this.....

Lovely Stag! Are those manifolds stainless steel? They seem to give the Stag a nice burble
