Hi Charles, Great content, always look forward to my daily Inside Arsenal fix! With reference to the comments on player strikes at the end of the day if they choose to go on strike they won’t get paid whilst on strike. I’m sure a sensible resolution will be negotiated and agreed as in sure those players won’t want to lose money! 👍🏻🤔⚽️
We've done so well in the absence of odegaard so far but if we are without Saka as well i would worry where the goals would come from. I'm really getting frustrated with international breaks now.
Injuries are unfortunate but inevitable in sports, even in non contact sports. It can occur in international games (Odeegard) or in domestic games (J Timber/Rodri), pt in competitive games or in friendly games, and even in training (Merino). It is disingenous to write as if Injuries occur only during international breaks.

Hey Charles. Bit of early talk but if Arsenal needs to reinforce players in the winter transfer window, where do you think Arsenal should sign? Personally, a wide player who can also cover striker and maybe a young no.6 or no.8 midfielder seems needed. Winter transfer window is always a tough window to sign players but i think we need at least 1 signing to cover the squad.
Why do ppl always say Saka is not world class player because he hasn’t won anything and then in same breath say Harry Kane is world class? Did he win something that we missed?
This is before the Chelsea game: I don't like cashing for a manager to go but I've never really thought much of Jonas for awhile, the team constantly seems to under achieve with him. It's frustrating seeing teams like city and utd catching up or even surpassing us. We were treble winners.
I feel like Arteta hasn’t ever been able to play HIS team. Partey and Timber were out all last season so we never saw a Rice-Timber-Partey-Odegaard combo that had the time to click into gear. Now the Merino and Odegaard injuries (and Saka?) are cratering the plans Arteta/Edu built over the summer. But if we don’t win the league, no-one’s going to give them a pass because of it. I feel for Arteta. For the way he’s turned the club around, he deserves better luck….
I could be being overly optimistic here… but it might be a blessing to have Martin back fit and firing in December. We’ve seen a drop off around this time last year. His freshness could be something that’ll help us through that period
Hey Charles great show as always, random opinion but the way Calafiori attacks reminds me of Nuno Tavares (with a lot more finesse), it's very chaotic but so much fun. Charles, 'Merino speaking about it' makes it sound like he spoke about a strike unprovoked. He's been asked a question by a journalist who wants a story. Rodri talking about it, is the same. They're asked questions by journalists. They give their opinions. It's not like it's an imminent threat of a strike. The media wants a story.
Spot on Charles! The Arsenal haters love to call us bottlers but they never mention the key injuries we've had at crucial times over the past 2 seasons. Thankfully the squad is strengthening every year. It's our time! COYG!

I know players are very patriotic and desperately want to play for their clubs. Odegaard is also captain of his country as well so I understand his willingness to take the risk. Unfortunately, just like Jesus, it has caused him a very serious injury. And again, just like Jesus, he may come back not the same player he was before the injury. What's more annoying with Odegaard is that he was already in the red zone when he joined up with Norway, and he went on to have another injury whilst there. I am not a medical doctor but no one can convince me that his serious injury was in isolation of the 2 injuries he got earlier. Odegaard relies on being nimble footed and riding challenges. His foot was planted when he got injured meaning there was some over compensation and reduced mobility on his part already. I truly pray that he comes back the same player, but to have your foot face the wrong way with the rest of the body in that manner it can only mean serious injury.
I have never understood why the Health and Safety in both the EU and UK haver been involved in Player safety. It’s clear that players are being overplayed and they have the same rights as all other workers.
That's because they're not like other workers, they don't get the same pay as other workers and they choose to play more and not rest because they want to play internationals.
Three games in and the WSL has all but gone. There needs to be a change, and really, the change should have happened after the end of last season. It's going to be much more difficult to find a replacement
Charles .. did Timber have a medical issue or did he get dropped from the Dutch team as a result of that reported bust up in the last international break?
Arteta has to wake up and smell the roses regarding resting SAKA,he must be looked after, wishing all our lads that are injured full recoveries, don’t rush them back COYG❤️❤️❤️
Hi Charles, contacting all the way from Nigeria. Great content as always. i just wanted to say that i dont think you realize it but you still say "Mikel Moreno" sometimes i think you say it and then you say Merino later on, i always chuckle when i hear Moreno. cheers.
This may sound harsh, but I don't feel sorry for Jonas. Whatever happens, he is the architect of it, coupled with some horrific decision making in his lineup. The women season will be over before it even started.
This whole to many games argument is redundant as only a handful of players play that much. It’s up to the clubs to rotate and use their squads. Kiwior plays how many games vs Saliba at Arsenal ? Same team but 1 plays 4x more so why would Kiwior go on strike ? Makes no sense.
I literally had the same thought. National and club managers need to rotate more - squads are large enough to have 2 full teams + extras. The issue is heavy over reliance on a handful of players. There’s enough talent at the national level to rotate - some players don’t need to play every game or full 90mins.
I'm sorry but these international breaks are absolutely ruining the domestic season. Already we've had two fortnight breaks with another coming up in November. Not only is it very disruptive to teams preparations, training, etc, it is adding to the already heavy schedule of games that top players are expected to play in. Yes, I know the players are paid exorbitant, eye-watering wages that we as normal people could only dream about. But at the end of the day they are human beings and if consortiums/owners/teams are willing to pay these amounts I'm sure all of us would be happy to take them. All club teams are suffering as a result and any good form, continuity/progression is derailed by these constant interruptions. The international scheduling really needs to be overhauled completely before it completely destroys the game at club level.
With the Kroenkes, looking at the women’s team at this current moment, are they showing the ambition for the club we are giving them credit for. They stuck with Arteta, and it worked out so far, but they surely couldn’t have known he’d become this good a manager in his first job. The women’s team look like United under ten Haag, a bit aimless and lacking real steel or threat, and not competitive at the top at all Given the powerhouse arsenal have been in women’s football, the ownership should show some real ambition to compete and make some tough decisions I’m not sure they’ve made thus far
Hi Charles what do you think about Graeme Souness and the comments he made about Wenger being a ‘lucky manager’? He basically said that he does not rate Wenger as a good manager! I feel Souness is just beckoning a very bitter second rate pundit.
I personally think it could be one of Arteta’s lies (strategies)to confuse rivals on the return of Odegaard. I think he will return sooner than later. Arteta has shown this season so far that he would do anything to get the slimest edge over rivals.
Thats just not true ... Ankle injuries arent even remotely as bad as knee injuries - ankle injuries usually heal without any complications while knee injuries can really plague you for your whole career ... Ronaldo is just one example of a player who had several ankle injuries over the span of this career and he always returned as if nothing had happened at all
I have mixed feelings about the concept of a strike, I agree that the players are overworked but they also keep demanding higher and higher wages and most would say no if you told them to take a 25% cut for 25% less games
I don't see why it matters how much the players make regarding going on strike. If their health is in danger they have a right to take action. It's not their fault we all love the game and are willing to pay to enjoy it. The fans will not be out of pocket and people need to have compassion. Money is irrelevant here.
I’m worried. How are we going to win this league without Odegaard? We are going to have many fixtures in which we will leave him. No question. On another note, the players must demonstrate! This is ridiculous.

@@MightyCraicDJ I'm not angry, it's all nonsense, players are not workers they are entertainers who have extremely short and precarious careers so end all this rubbish.
No matter how much they earn, they are still human beings and shouldn't be treated like machines. The number of games they play are ever increasing. There needs to be some actions.
I don't believe the set back rumours. I think his injury was always a lot worse than we were told. Mikel didn't want to deflate everyone with the news of our captain being out for so long. I always suspected we wouldn't see him until Xmas
They made mistake giving the guy a new contract, he is underarchieving with arsenal squad. I think he has lost the players' trust. If arsenal don't change him now, they will waste this season again. Jonas need to go
Ffs dont we want a lot of games, this is why teams need a squad. More games could also mean opportunities for some players who wouldnt necessarily play if there are lesser games like some youth players. This is why the game has become what it is because of games where a certain player gets a chance and does well. The number of games has increased almost every decade. More gsmes are not the oroboem, your manager selecting the squad and your club not building the squad. Build a proper squad and get on with it. Sick of these people earning outrageous wages per week which an average person would have to earn for like a decade 😤😤😤
The select few are the ones FIFA, UEFA and the Tv companies want to play so they should and will have influence. Additionally fans haven’t asked for or been asking for the volume of games and competitions being scheduled either, so the argument of the players should focus on that not what they are being paid…
There is no argument that a % of football players(the elite), are involved in too many tournaments. Who really wants the Club World Cup or Nations Leagues? Even physicians in training are having their work hours monitored! The body and mind can only perform at the peak levels for a certain length of time. Anyone who says footballers should perform at peak levels all year round, because they’re paid handsomely, should have their heads checked!
I am going to declare my opinion (who cares) but as a working human who owns a small business I agree that the pressure on these high paid soccer professionals is MASSIVE. They are NOT gladiators from the Roman era. Must be respected and played intentionally per match. Burn Out is NOT an option.
Eidevall has taken Arsenal Ladies from serial winners, to complete losers. The Meidema decision alone should have seen him sacked. Couple of players kept 2 seasons too long, Mead & Little. poor players brought in, Cately, Weinrother even Blackstinious. Look at the players who have left, then gone on to win CL!
Footballers are paid lots of money because of the amount of money that’s in the game. Suits who many believe are destroying the game are getting paid far, far more. Players definitely deserve to have a say on how many games are played. Also this increase in the amount of games does dilute the experience for fans as well. But because it’s more revenue for organisations we’re working players until they have season ending and life debilitating injuries. But it’s ok though because they get a tiny slice of the pie.
Merino should be quiet and focus on playing. I used to have a cousin that worked on watchtower for 200k per year. Imagine not seeing your family for a whole just to take home 200k plus taxes, while players like Merino can have that every week and yet still complain of stress???
Odegaarde might be out for the rest of the season or the most of it we need to get someone in January if we want to win the premiership. Kudos from westham.we need a top player
Who the hell is Merino to talk about a strike? He's not even in the door 5 minutes and he's hardly played. A players career is short and they get paid astronomical figures to entertain us, get some painkillers and GTFO there and entertain us.
The argument about too many games, im not really buying it while a player like ESR cant get a sniff of gametime. City has loads of players so there is no reason why Rodri cant get a break. Its like every other business, ikea doesnt close down shop because their best salesman isnt on the floor working the evening shift. Its poor squad management and greed, its managers sacrificing the health of their players to keep their jobs. Thats my take on it.
The work load is big but in my opinion this should open the door to employ more players so the work load gets distributed among more players (more matches for more players) sounds brilliant as they are many players that want to play in top tear football but never get the chance to do so ..A long the years that I have played I have Play with some realy talented players but they never got the chance There are so much grey zones in the football business thats needs to be fixed ....In my opinion a national team should represent players that are not club tide in international clubs but rather national players that play nationally.....open the door of opertunity for more players to play top tear football....
The earlier Jonas is sacked, the sooner our girls will regain their bearing. He is so mediocre and not at the level required for a title chasing team. Chelsea just changed managers yet our results against them remains the same
I have always said the ways the games are referee these days and players are been clatter from all angles without any action been taken the rules state play the ball first not always saying he's attempted to play the ball serious injury will only increase and more serious.
This result should really be irrelevant Jonus should be gone already for two seasons now.. winning this game shouldn't change it Viv left us to even go and play elsewhere it's absolutely ridiculous
I am 100% with the comments that there are far too many football matches being played, it's the same in Rugby Union. This is all driven by money. It's about time the authorities got it into their heads that these guys are human beings, not robots !
You didn't mention the news from the Brazilian President who only wants players playing in Brazil to be able to play for Brazil. Jonas is a fraud. You can't say that players are strained and play your oldest player for 90 mins for consecutive matches
A strike for footballers is easy. All the best players collectively just don’t show up for international games anymore. Any international games until the issue is resolved.
Gotta say it again. Mate, MerEEno. What's worse is in NEITHER English nor Spanish is Merino pronounced MeRAYno. Where tf is this even coming from?! It's not correct in either language lmao. How does one's brain get to that pronounciation? Baffling.
Unfortunately when the players earn the money that they do the result is the clubs and the Leagues need to raise enormous funds. Most people earn their money working 5 or 6 days per week,
You’re still occasionally call him Mikel MOW-REY-NO as opposed to Merino…😂😂😂 Don’t be too hard on yourself about it though as you’re doing much much better now than before
the nations league is too much football and is ruining the season. refuse to allow players to leave for friendlies or just sell the players who cant say no to friendly internationals...should we lose the prem cos sake id too tired? rodri odegaard and sake ? the prem is getting ruined to sell advertising on poiuntless friendlies...or sell the players who cant say no to the nations leagure and dont have permanent injuries. either waqy we cant pay for england to get players injured in friendlies...the nations league is just to sell adverts,,,what are we here for football or adverts?
Will be very interesting when Merino is fully up and running as he looks to be the best natural fit for our LCM role So we could go into some big games with Mikel making a decision between starting Rice or Partey

Chelsea just changed managers yet our results against them remains the same
I've never heard any youtubers talk about the woman's game except for Charles. Not even my wife cares for women football, and she loves football 😂
What is the point playing for nation league???!!! So many meaningless international matches/tournament!!!
I have always said the ways the games are referee these days and players are been clatter from all angles without any action been taken the rules state play the ball first not always saying he's attempted to play the ball serious injury will only increase and more serious.
' Casey Stoney ' to step in if we get stuffed by Chelski ! The WSL would already be over if we lose today !
This result should really be irrelevant Jonus should be gone already for two seasons now.. winning this game shouldn't change it
Viv left us to even go and play elsewhere it's absolutely ridiculous
Is she currently available?
I am 100% with the comments that there are far too many football matches being played, it's the same in Rugby Union.
This is all driven by money. It's about time the authorities got it into their heads that these guys are human beings, not robots !
The simple solution is to set a maximum number of minutes a player can play per season.
Let club and national managers use their squads a lot more.
Lolno
You didn't mention the news from the Brazilian President who only wants players playing in Brazil to be able to play for Brazil. Jonas is a fraud. You can't say that players are strained and play your oldest player for 90 mins for consecutive matches
As of 10 minutes ago I see Saka is released from England camp and heading back to Arsenal 🔴⚪
Please sack Jonas man is a very average and clueless goooooo
A strike for footballers is easy. All the best players collectively just don’t show up for international games anymore. Any international games until the issue is resolved.
You can't run players down to the ground cos they're high earners. They deserve to be consulted. These elite players make the $ for the TV networks.
*£
Stick to baseball yeah.
@@kunimitsune177 Quit being a smart Alec. I can use whatever currency symbol I feel like.
@@kunimitsune177 There goes smart Alec. Can't deal with arguments regarding player welfare.
Gotta say it again. Mate, MerEEno. What's worse is in NEITHER English nor Spanish is Merino pronounced MeRAYno. Where tf is this even coming from?! It's not correct in either language lmao. How does one's brain get to that pronounciation? Baffling.
It's incredible that we can casually accept that footballers earn £1m per month. How and why the hell did we get here.
...because there's enough money in the sport to support those wages...
Either they get it or the owners pocket it and the latter can not happen.
Just saw the news Saka leaves england camp and returns to arsenal
Why the hell have arsenal allowed merino to go away on international duty..what a joke
Unfortunately when the players earn the money that they do the result is the clubs and the Leagues need to raise enormous funds. Most people earn their money working 5 or 6 days per week,
You’re still occasionally call him Mikel MOW-REY-NO as opposed to Merino…😂😂😂
Don’t be too hard on yourself about it though as you’re doing much much better now than before
On a more positive note , if Saka does fly out to Finland wouldn't that mean his injury is not serious?
Not really Odegaard played despite the fact that he was unfit and as a result suffered the injury
No he's back 🏡 🏠 thank God!! 🤨😔😭😠😡
Imagine if footballers had to do real jobs
the nations league is too much football and is ruining the season. refuse to allow players to leave for friendlies or just sell the players who cant say no to friendly internationals...should we lose the prem cos sake id too tired? rodri odegaard and sake ? the prem is getting ruined to sell advertising on poiuntless friendlies...or sell the players who cant say no to the nations leagure and dont have permanent injuries. either waqy we cant pay for england to get players injured in friendlies...the nations league is just to sell adverts,,,what are we here for football or adverts?
Watts Fix
Will be very interesting when Merino is fully up and running as he looks to be the best natural fit for our LCM role
So we could go into some big games with Mikel making a decision between starting Rice or Partey
Fifa & UEFA will milk the lives out of the players all just for $
