Man what an awesome story, SO GLAD YOU GOT DAD'S BOAT. I have awesome memories of fishing salt and fresh water fishing, Flounder Gigging and Frog gigging with my dad and I lost him when I was 15 to cancer and I'm now dealing with Thyroid And melanoma now but that's ok because I'm still able to fish and I NEVER GET ON THE WATER TODAY AT 63 without saying we are going to hammer them today dad. Cherish Those memories brother and I'm praying for you daily because I've been actually where you are at right now because if dad took 2 steps back he tripped over me
Can't argue with selling your boat and keeping Dad's. I lost my Pop to cancer in 2010 and probably shared a bit of that pain already. My other Dad had a heart attack and passed some years later. I use tools that both left me all the time. The fishing gear and some older rods and reels my father-in-law left get used frequently. I feel like part of them is either working alongside me when doing projects or catching fish any time I use them. We can heal over time in this way. Thanks for sharing brother, I feel for you. He would be proud of you! I'm sorry for your loss. I lost my dad a few years back and I miss him a lot. He was a hammer when it came to any type of fishing or hunting. He left me an old aluminum boat that I need to start restoring, but I'd never get rid of it, either. My dream boat is probably a toss-up between a new Nitro 21 XL Pro, Bullet with a 300R, an old Champion with a 250 racing Merc, or IKon! I started doing bass boat tournaments. Getting to blast off and race, and then fish is combining 2 of my favorite things.
Yessir, I'm stoked to see you back in the Skeeter Alex. My condolences to you and the family- it really sucks losing a parent, especially one who had such an impact on your life. I lost my Dad in 2021 to cancer, who was a lifelong carpenter. I've been using a lot of his old tools in my own home renovation and been really excited/touched/overwhelmed emotionally. He left me some great tools and supplies, but it would have been better building this with him. I can imagine you feel the exact same fishing in that boat, but I bet you can definitely feel his presence at times and hopefully help guide you. All the best, Mr. Rudd!

Man that’s is freaking awesome that you got your dad’s boat! Sorry for your loss, I lost my father as well about 10 years ago. But what an awesome thing to have of his. Like you said a father and son have so many memories in a boat, it’s awesome to be able to have that.

I can relate to this so well. I also lost my father around christmas of 2021 to his cancer battle, my condolences to you and your family. I would never wish that pain and grieve on anyone. We loved fishing together, as I know you did with your father. Best thing we can do to keep their souls alive is to keep fishing, they'll always be with us.

Sorry to hear about your dad. On a lighter note, I went with 4 X2 AGM batteries as well in my xpress. I’ve never once had a battery problem so far. Couldn’t be happier with them.

I think you’ll enjoy the Skeeter. I’ve spent a lot of time fishing out of friends’ Skeeters and they all fished well. That being said, I fish out of a Ranger aluminum (RT188) and plan to keep it for as long as I’m able to keep launching and recovering it.
Makes sense to me to run a glass boat anyway because you always have the yaks for the crazy stuff anyway 🙌🏼 Just extra cool that it some with your dad’s mojo and memories too 😊

Ive had an Xpress and they are nice and when you bump something you dont get as worried but they will make you want a bass boat eventually.

As a fellow fisherman that has just lost my stepdad earlier this month, I understand. I have recently started my fishing journey again. I lost my real dad a few years ago. He had moved back to the lake I was raised on. I am excited to get back into fishing again. I had great memories with both fishing and skiing

Have you considered the telescopic bases for the forward graphs. It gets them up off the deck and maybe less strain on the neck. Probably pricey though.

Sorry to here about your dad. Thanks for the tour of the boat!! Everything looks awesome!!! I had a question on the shallow anchors but you answered it in the video. I just got a Lowe Stinger 17'7" and wanted to put shallow water anchors on and wasn't sure which ones to go with either Power Pole or Raptor but since you had both styles and like the Raptor that's what I think I'm going with. Sweet man. It's weird you don't hear more about the 360. For the way I like to fish, I feel like that would be more useful to me than the front facing. I'm no electronic expert, but that seems more intriguing to me.

Hello Alex, glad I found you, you were saying something about cancer, well you have my sympathy because I know what you are going through my brother got down with cancer and the Doctors said he would live about six months, he didn't last a month he had a fast eating cancer, I hated to lose him but he is not suffering anymore, he almost died on my Birthday,he passed on the 28 of March and my Birthday was the 30 th. You always remember your dad isn't suffering anymore he is in a better place.send my love and sympathy.

Hey Alex, I was curious about the Fenwick Rods are they going out of business or is that just a sales thing? They are doing this time of year because I am with purefishing as well and I know you got the same email I got.
Fenwick did a complete over haul on all the rods so those are just the older models they're discounting.
