That is actually true! Spiritual? Yes! Here's a piece of history, and I swear this is truth and I'm not joking.... In Montreal in the 80s, I remember that as news where conservative religious groups, Muslims and RC church officials were actually complaining everywhere, to anyone who would listen, and even handing out quickly and sloppily-printed pamphlets saying things like, that raves were replacing/overthrowing the Church/God because that was the word going around with House music fans, which was true, but not they thought it was true..They actually thought that house music's reason to exist and a direct attack to destroy the Church and raves were where they gatherered. Dj's and the more nervous producers of events responded to this news as ominous and so by gradually/graciously getting rid House music's spiritual affectation, style and content of the time because no one wants religious spies and conservative bigots who report the truth through their own narrow interpretation of the truth, at their raves and as working artists and producers they happily took their cue from their Underground (who are very good at keeping things underground) they're not keen on politics, nor should they be. Music, like Beauty, survives and. It's very fluid and versatile too. Now it's considered an "evolution" which would of happened anyway, as it did, so it's all good. Now (I don't even know why I wrote this. This is trivia) Peace :-)

I was born in 2000 I just turned 21 I been listening to house music, old school music since I was 16 years old god blessed me with a good soul 🙌🏾 if only I was born in the 90s
I used to play STREET FIGHTER in the laundromat to this track. Had this going way loud on a cassette player and sweeping Chun Li's legs right out from under her! Good times.

I can't help myself being me. Exercising (cardio) for 1 hour, every 24 hour period going on 4 years I dance to 125BPM-ish continuous mix of Latin house and all variants House music started. I always felt this trax had an early house days feel like it was done in 1987. Its a true classic that kept house alive in the early 90's. I love this tune!
I know what you mean, but there is no 303 on this track. I think you refer to the synth stab, which I believe actually started off as a weird distorted piano sample.
ibuprofen303 okay, i was sure that the recorded beat was previously generated by a basic tb303, thus the "303" term seems a little bit abusing here. regarding the weird distorted piano sample you meant i SUPPOSE it's nothing else than a reworked may's "saturday piano" loop (initially on strings of life) . (note: same thing with the "saturday violin" -as commonly named back then, nothing to do with derrick may-, a loop that has been used dozens of times, till the mid 90s).
sultainious and 1992ravefan, I'm glad you young dudes are keepin this music alive for more generations to come, I listened and danced to these house grooves when it all started back in '91.... We were called housers, back then hitting the clubs wearing Bells, flair-type bottoms... :)
I was just looking for this record as loved it back in the day, but I forgot the title and thought ti was "Definition of a Groove", and couldn't remember the group name either. As I recall I bought this on a vinyl 45 on RCA Records, but originally heard it and fell in love with it on the dance floor. I realize there is still "house music" being recorded as I still go to a "house music night" at a dance club, but the tracks are mostly anonymous and derivative and I wouldn't even know who the artists or titles are (and most DJs do not like being interrupted and asked as they take themselves VERY seriously, even when playing utter shit). The glory days of house music seem to have been late '80s to mid 90's; it was pure nocturnal magic while it lasted.
Thanx mate, I was born in 88 and I came across rave and hardcore breakbeat on pirate radio at age 3 or 4 I think, I used to record lots of mixes on tape cassette with no names, no broadcasters and no idea what the name of those stations were as I was too young to remember because they just played different sounds one after another, but they were amazing years though
This is the real deal! Yes I'm 47, an old time raver, loved XTC, had lots of it, cause it was the dope at that time - best shit ever! Good memories! / Cause I understand this groove.....

That landlord stab still gets me everytime 🎧
This song will forever get me groovin. Deep house fanatic from back in the early 90's.
Sound factory Penha SP éra meu Pointe sexta,sábado e domingo éra muito louco.

Yes I understand this groove.
I still listen to this at least once a day! Just relistened to this 3 months ago and fell in love with it all over again!
This is the real deal!
Yes I'm 47, an old time raver, loved XTC, had lots of it, cause it was the dope at that time - best shit ever! Good memories! / Cause I understand this groove.....
