I don't think anything other than a tote is going to work for you as a work bag, you carry a ton of stuff, lol. And I have the medium Lou Lou, the chain on them has a raised metal ring it goes thru, which is at the gather point on the side of the bag.....it does not get in the way of accessing the back pocket. I love my Lou Lou black on black.....also bought from Fashionphile, it was in like new condition. Worth every penny IMO. 🖤🖤
I have the teal quilted bag and I love it! It’s a beautiful color that pretty much goes with everything. I bought it because I didn’t want to spend the $2600 on the YSL and this one serves the purpose for a fraction of the cost. Go for the teal one. You won’t be sorry!
Hi I agree that teal is very versatile. One of my biggest regrets in in life was selling my teal Chanel Jumbo when it was still somewhat reasonable in price in 2011 😅 teal is very neutral
I think it’s commendable that you try to preserve the original wrapping to return. However most companies expect it to be removed especially if bought online. That bag is pretty though. I think you’d be happy with the new RM Edie Maxi.
I will absolutely say that the eagle head on the black and silver is HUGE. I have this bag in the rainbow and it too has the large eagle head on the front. It definitely makes for an eye catching piece, but, in the same breath, it’s also very heavy! So enjoyed this review, Autumn, thank you!! ☺️
I think buy the YSL because if you end up reaching for it a lot, cost per wear is reasonable and it will re-sell better if you ever sell it. But if you get the Geiger, maybe wait for a black with silver combo in puffy quilts.
Thanks for your review. I have two KG XXL Kensignton bags. One in black drench and the other in gold. I love them both for the pure fun and size of them. To me, they are impractical for an everyday work bag or handbag or even a travel bag because I don’t think the quality would hold up. In my opinion, Rebecca Minkoff is a better choice as far as quality and price point. I have a 15-inch laptop and use the Aspinal London Tote for that. I plan to also purchase a Longchamp Roseau XL tote for work when their spring/summer sales are on so I have an additional work bag. Have you ever considered a MZ Wallace Metro Tote? They are lightweight, cuddly soft, yet can hold so much stuff. They even have a pocket that converts to place them on a bag trolly. They come in an array of different colors and there are also yearly artist collaborations with MZ Wallace.
I just got my XXL in the metallic rainbow color in the mail today, from the pre loved market. Two style quilting and small bird head. It is beautiful. I liked the bag on you. Don’t know what you ended up with since this is an older video.
I bought the Kurt Geiger Shoreditch bag after one of your other recent videos talking about Kurt Geiger. I managed to snatch a tweed and leather one on clearance at Nordstrom and it is a great fall/winter bag. I was looking at the drench series but was having similar thoughts as you. I love the large black quilted Kensington with the large quilting pattern, but I want silver hardware too. Hopefully they come out with one and then we could have matching bags. Now that I have some chanel, LV, gucci bags and other items, and realizing what they mean (nice to have yes, but absolutely nothing), no I would not buy that YSL bag. Nope, not right now. I would buy that Kensington bag (If you like it and it makes you happy) and keep it moving. The only thing I can say about certain luxury items like Chanel is that some of the bags tend to hold their value, while lower tiered bags are kind of like buying cars, they depreciate as soon as you buy it. But, like some of my leather Coach bags that I will never get rid of, that Kensington would be something that I would buy with the knowledge that I couldn't get a whole lot of money if I tried to sell it.

The leather is amazing, and I get compliments every single time I carry it. I have a regular size. The xxl is way too big. I purchased mine from Dillard’s, Nordstrom Rack, and TJMaxx.

The Loulou in medium (not the large) is not heavy, I was even expecting it to be very big and was surprised that is actually not so big like everyone described it. Same apply for the puffer the larger size is actually not so huge, the one that is called small is really small for me ( look really deceiving on camera) This 2 bags you need to see in person. I personally like the LouLou much better.i have now the puffer in the larger Size ( which is called medium) and the medium in the Loulou and I’m happy with the sizes.
I know this is not on topic for this video but I had a question, have you had the edging coating of the straps on any of your Louis Vuitton bags getting sticky? I don’t know if it’s because I use a antibacterial wipe on my bag after I get home because of COVID or because the edging is getting old. I don’t think it’s the wipes because I use them on other bags straps and they don’t get sticky. Any help would be really appreciated, thanks in advance.

As a teacher myself, I always need a tote style bag for all of my things. I dont think a YSL bag would be worth it for this purpose. I would buy the other KG in black for a day bag, and stick with a good leather or coated canvas tote for work. Obviously, you could get the YSL, but I'm sure it would be a waste using it for school items. Good luck! PS... Im retiring this June , so no more work totes for me!
I got (returned it) the large Loulou when it first came out before I got my kg xxl, if memory serves me right, I thought it was bigger than the kg. I’m use to big bags, and the large Loulou felt VERY big, the one I had was very structured.
The best work bag I've ever had is one of the longchamp totes. With that bag I can pack two laptops, and other items, sling it on my shoulder and not feel any pain.

The vibe I am picking up is that you have such reservations about that bag, that it may not work for the intended purpose. Which means that an alternative colour/hardware combination may not improve it enough for you? I like the look of it. I am all for spending money on lovely bags, but if this one is only just barely big enough, would the YSL work at all? Maybe you could compromise on some functionality and use this Geiger bag, putting the $1000 extra onto something chic and fabulous? Definitely don't spend in on Roxie and Baron. When u first started talking about this brand...I have a love hate relationship with it...doesn't hold structure. It's hard to line up the closures to closethe bag...and the glazing on the handles have worn and I have carried it less that 5 times...
I had bought a small LouLou bag in the black with black hardware. I had wanted silver but the black was on sale ☹️. Once I got it, it was beautiful but I was worried the black chain would chip and peel. Is that something you would worry about with this bag? ETA I ended up returning it but still wanting the black with silver. I would get the LouLou, but I don’t like the eagle head.
This video is so timely. I’ve been looking at the black XXL soft Kensington with the gold hardware this past week. I don’t carry nearly as much stuff as you, but it would be nice to have a squishy large bag. I do own the YSL small puffer in blanc with silver hardware and also the toy puffer in black with black hardware. Love them both but am definitely unwilling to spend the extra money for the large YSL bag. So that’s why I’ve been debating about the XXL soft Kensington. I’m also concerned about the base of the bag sagging, but think I could buy or make a base shaper for it. I still haven’t pulled the trigger on this bag, but I’m very strongly considering it. Currently it is $40 cheaper at Dillard’s than Nordstrom’s. Maybe, like you, I should just order it to see if I really like it or not. Ok. Had to edit my comment to add that I did just order this bag from Dillard’s.
The XXL Kensington is one of my favorite bags. Mine is in tweed, it's lightweight and it fits a ton. There are several different leathers, colors and styles you can get this bag in. I've heard the soft leather doesn't wear very well, the grained leathers age better. Also the tweed ages well according to what I've seen and heard. The way the chains connect to the middle divider keeps the flap from getting scrunched up. It does make the back compartment a bit less accessible but I don't find it disturbing since I keep things I need at work there.

I have a large puffer Lou Lou and it will not fit everything that you have in that tote. I don’t even think it will fit half the amount you are carrying. It is a great everyday bag, but I carry a laptop case with a bag for my laptop and electronics. I would get the black with larger quilts is you are trying to go for that style. I always find if I overstuff them bags, they wear out much faster.
Hi Autumn, I loved you and Roxie together! I have a smaller Kurt Geiger tweed bag and it's nice but the annoying chain attached to the center compartment and the 2 outside snaps are such annoyances. I would continue to use the gray tote you already have and bank all the money for now. Continue looking for a good pre-loved higher end bag that exactly meets your specifications!
I think it looks lovely and I was on the fence but your video confirmed it's not for me. I don't like when bags put random dividers inside (it takes away useful space!), or the two snap closure, and I really dislike when larger bags don't have large capacity. I love that grey color though, and it looked great on you!
I actually have both bags are while they are similar they are also different. The leather on the YSL and the Kurt Geiger are not the same. Kurt Geiger is soft but it’s not lamb skin like the loulou.
That's a lot of work and fiddling for a not un-expensive bag. I'd save the money and buy a bag that's a little bigger - speaking of which, I did just purchase a Neverfull GM last week (even though I said I'd NEVER buy a Neverfull) and can't imagine having to shove stuff in a smaller bag now. ;) Great review! The way the chains hang when your wearing the bag does make the back pocket a lot harder to get into, you wouldn’t want to put the items you need to grab quickly in that pocket, it’s an easier pocket when the bag is on a table.
I seriously considered this brand after watching Yota's videos. They are definitely beautiful bags! Unfortunately, the ones on display were not very well made. The bottom of them had bulges between the base shaper and outer leather from the selvage not being tucked upward into the side wall of the bag. Plus, the selection at my local Dillard's was very smart (I don't hold that against the brand but I didn't get to set eyes on a decent variety)
There are so many styles out there similar to those bags that cost thousands of dollars. For me it is about the style of the bag. I don’t care if it’s from Target... if it’s a cute bag it’s a cute bag.
I have purchased 2 KG bags and returned both because of workmanship. While the bags r beautiful and leather soft the bottom is not sturdy and the back of the bag interfacing is wonky.
I'm guessing you would love to use that bag every day, getting into it and seeing the luxury. Beats a tote bag by miles! I don't like the style AT ALL, and I couldn't return it! Other than the bottom construction, it is so luxurious!
two things: the bottom that you're a bit concerned about will be the same on the black. 2) don't forget you are not looking at it as you wear it. but i know certain things are important to us. plus you carry everything but the kitchen sink! lol!!
I would keep the gray because the size can work for work. A smaller one won't be as useful. Definitely not the used LouLou because of the price and less useful. I wouldn't buy a $1700 bag unless I LOVED IT. Money doesn't come to me that easily. I personally love the LV new wave chin bag MM - red with silver hardware or black with gold hardware. Completely impractical for me, but I love, love, love them!
That’s my favorite KG bag because the eagle head is almost invisible. The eagle head keeps me from getting KG bags, so this one excites me🤩 I’d want a smaller size in the monochrome color. Thanks for sharing!
It looks so soft, but I don’t like how much real estate the chain takes up the way it’s connected inside. I think fiddling to try to close it would annoy you, but it does look really good on you.
Beautiful bag, but brown? That's straight up gray. The color names drive me crazy - I wish they would just list the Pantone shade number and let me decide what I think it is! Wondering about the color of the chain- is it a paint or coating that could chip or wear rubbing against those grommets. Addendum: watched you pack the bag and it looks awkward and crammed. IMHO, a tote is a better choice for what you need. Love your snake print tote.

Spend $2000ish on the YSL Large College bag. It's not as puffy looking and it looks good on all shapes.

Nordstrom has the XXL Kensington in red and green. The red has silver hardware.

I have a large puffer Lou Lou and it will not fit everything that you have in that tote. I don’t even think it will fit half the amount you are carrying. It is a great everyday bag, but I carry a laptop case with a bag for my laptop and electronics. I would get the black with larger quilts is you are trying to go for that style. I always find if I overstuff them bags, they wear out much faster.
Love the color and monochromatic hardware. But yes agreed. The giant puffs are awesome. I'm not into the giant eagle tho. Decisions, decisions....
Hi Autumn, I loved you and Roxie together! I have a smaller Kurt Geiger tweed bag and it's nice but the annoying chain attached to the center compartment and the 2 outside snaps are such annoyances. I would continue to use the gray tote you already have and bank all the money for now. Continue looking for a good pre-loved higher end bag that exactly meets your specifications!

I think it looks lovely and I was on the fence but your video confirmed it's not for me. I don't like when bags put random dividers inside (it takes away useful space!), or the two snap closure, and I really dislike when larger bags don't have large capacity. I love that grey color though, and it looked great on you!
I do like the large quilting more. I’m not a teal person but that was cool. For me this would be more of a travel bag.

I actually have both bags are while they are similar they are also different. The leather on the YSL and the Kurt Geiger are not the same. Kurt Geiger is soft but it’s not lamb skin like the loulou.
I have had my XXL for a couple of years, mine is like a duvet, very squishy.
That's a lot of work and fiddling for a not un-expensive bag. I'd save the money and buy a bag that's a little bigger - speaking of which, I did just purchase a Neverfull GM last week (even though I said I'd NEVER buy a Neverfull) and can't imagine having to shove stuff in a smaller bag now. ;) Great review! Also, I love Roxy's little eyebrows!
The way the chains hang when your wearing the bag does make the back pocket a lot harder to get into, you wouldn’t want to put the items you need to grab quickly in that pocket, it’s an easier pocket when the bag is on a table.
You need the macro vs the XXL.
I seriously considered this brand after watching Yota's videos. They are definitely beautiful bags! Unfortunately, the ones on display were not very well made. The bottom of them had bulges between the base shaper and outer leather from the selvage not being tucked upward into the side wall of the bag. Plus, the selection at my local Dillard's was very smart (I don't hold that against the brand but I didn't get to set eyes on a decent variety)

There are so many styles out there similar to those bags that cost thousands of dollars. For me it is about the style of the bag. I don’t care if it’s from Target... if it’s a cute bag it’s a cute bag.

I have purchased 2 KG bags and returned both because of workmanship. While the bags r beautiful and leather soft the bottom is not sturdy and the back of the bag interfacing is wonky.
I have been wanting to get a KG bag but the magnets and no easy way to get to my phone are a dealbreaker for me.

I would keep the gray because the size can work for work. A smaller one won't be as useful. Definitely not the used LouLou because of the price and less useful. I wouldn't buy a $1700 bag unless I LOVED IT. Money doesn't come to me that easily. I personally love the LV new wave chin bag MM - red with silver hardware or black with gold hardware. Completely impractical for me, but I love, love, love them!
That’s my favorite KG bag because the eagle head is almost invisible. The eagle head keeps me from getting KG bags, so this one excites me🤩 I’d want a smaller size in the monochrome color. Thanks for sharing!

It looks so soft, but I don’t like how much real estate the chain takes up the way it’s connected inside. I think fiddling to try to close it would annoy you, but it does look really good on you.
Beautiful bag, but brown? That's straight up gray. The color names drive me crazy - I wish they would just list the Pantone shade number and let me decide what I think it is! Wondering about the color of the chain- is it a paint or coating that could chip or wear rubbing against those grommets.
Addendum: watched you pack the bag and it looks awkward and crammed. IMHO, a tote is a better choice for what you need. Love your snake print tote.

moving away from giant tote to big flap bag. Yes !!! That’s my style. Carry what you like and put the rest in the tote. But whoa way too much stuff in a flap bag that you’re going to carry on your shoulder. Looks 100% better not stuffed. Yes buy the Kirk Geiger in the right color please.
