Jon is getting 15 million to fight Stipe. If he doesn't need the belt to rake in that revenue, he should give it up. I get the comments he's receiving are mean and his feelings are being hurt by people he can beat the crap out of, PED's or No, but he is kinda holding up the division a bit. It's like other people say; he's bigger than the belt at this point and his legacy is established. If he's not going for the hat trick of having the most HW Title Defenses, why keep it? Give it up and make your money.

@@dharris1084able I said I get why Jones is putting Tom on the back burner; he has 15 MILLION reasons to do so and I could also understand why he's trying to clap back at people online who are insulting him because he's not doing what they feel he should do. That being said, if he doesn't need the belt to get that 15 million and he isn't staying around afterwards, then he should probably vacate.

This makes the ufc look bad to me if Tom wins his fight in July and when Jon finally return it's not Tom he's fighting first. Tom is literally the interim champion and for him to not get his shot first for the undisputed championship and have to wait even longer for an next guy that is not on a winning streak is disgusting, it's just seems unfair.
Facts, Once you have the interim championship that's supposed to automatically makes you the number one contender for the undisputed championship.

Jones appreciated havng a shot when he was starting out. The sport has gotten where fighters dont feel they need to defend the belt in thier division. A fighter wins a fight and they wanna be a social media darling and they feel they get to determine whos worthy
Doesn't matter what they feel. They still have bosses to answer to and they don't control the belt. People have been calling on fighters to be stripped for years, especially Jon. But it's not up to him what he gets to do, it's up to the organization. And since they are letting him do what he does you put the blame on the organization for being in control but not using it.
That said, I'm with Jon and any other champion that does the same. This is a job, not some honorable kung fu competition. And your job isn't to care about your opponent's opportunities. It's to see to your own.

If the tax actually went to the community I live in (or even country for that matter) and actually benefited the people paying it maybe I would, but well the roads are full of pot holes and the cost of living keeps rising, I will continue to do everything I can to avoid paying

My two cents.......Im sick of waiting on Jones. Jones says a lot of stuff, but he said no to Aspinal and I believe him. If he fights Stipe and gets by, maybe I would pay attention. but Dana wants Stipe first, John wants the easiest fight( only because Stipe is tired)

Good point Chael. Idk even. Something is there but it’s dormant. Perhaps it’s cause of the way Jones retired Gone without throwing a punch. Perhaps it’s because he got injured before the second biggest heavyweight fighter currently in Stipen Miochic that’s now been rescheduled. But back to Tom. Clearly the future. Looks like he will be the Next big star. And perhaps even as good as Jones was, Was! In his youth, but at heavyweight. Yet there’s reticence in the crowd for it. Maybe it’s just a gestational thing.
Whats missing? Emotions.
Jon is being respectful to tom, prolly because of all the times he has been berated for being wild and thats commendable on his part.
Tom isnt even trying, hes just a naturally nice and respectful guy. Hes also younger and probably looks up to jon, rightfully so. His arguments are based on whats "fair" and the "right" thing to do, which is good in a court of law or philosophical debate but definitely not the way to provoke interest in a crowd of men who enjoy watching someone get kicked in the dome or ground and pounded into the canvas.
Chael you know this, doing the "right" thing doesnt win you fights, otherwise fighting wouldnt even exist. The same goes for promoting, you have to operate within a spectrum of "reason" but Tom really needs to turn up the heat. Once he does, jon will have carte blanche to drop the nice guy act and bring out the heel. Promoting will be a lot easier from there.
Chael...Tom walked up to Jon and told him he wanted to fight him and even asked for a face off photo. Jon doesn't want to take the risk of fighting Tom. It is very clear

Chael, if Tom was American, he'd be all over the UFC news as the Mike Tyson of MMA. They'd be thinking about making movies about him. He'd be in ads on TV. Joe Rogan, who has barely mentioned Aspinall, would be chatting about this "beast" every single show he does with an MMA guy. You wouldn't be able to turn sideways without hearing about Aspinall. BUT, he's not American. The hype train doesn't run very well on non-American tracks. The lack of media (besides you) about Apsinall is frankly astonishing. It's amazing, but there's a good reason it is happening: Money and American pride.
The hype train could be derailed for Jones if he has to fight Aspinall, so he is being protected. To be protected, there needs to be less focus on Aspinall. Otherwise, it looks bad for the UFC. Dana says he doesn't do stuff like this, but sure, he does. He's protecting Jones. Not that Aspinall is certain to win. Jones is great, an ATG, but there is a MASSIVE risk in fighting Aspinall, a huge risk, the biggest risk there is to Jones.
Unfortunately, the UFC in this case has followed the same track as what has almost destroyed boxing. The money always wins. That's why we get sh*t music, sh*t movies, sh*t food that makes us die younger than is normal. It's why boxing is tainted. The UFC is now tarring itself with that same brush. The money wins.

You cant get any feeling on it because the champ is out. Everyone knows they are not going to fight for at least another 6 to 8 months. Jon is fighting Stipe, not Tom when he returns maybe even 12 months who knows

Nope wrong. Any real fan of any level would have Jones v Aspinal right at the top of most wanted fights. You contradict yourself as well. You say Aspinal is not a draw but that Edwards is a huge star but then later say Aspinal is the UKs biggest star. I'm sure even you know Edwards is from the UK so that makes zero sense. The trouble with Chael is he is so untrustworthy you can't believe anything that comes out of his mouth without questioning his motivations behind whatever he says. As we say in the UK, "he's dodgy as fu.k"

I dont care if they dont fight,he isnt necessary for toms career n he shouldnt get hung up on it, its crazy it ever became possible as jon is the greatest light heavyweight not heavyweight imo, he can fight who he wants but the belt situation will have to be sorted, toms got to get thru curtis 1st whos 1 of those people, he probably wont perform to his maximum potential but if he does, watch out imo.

Tom has the same thing as Stipe. He's too nice and respectful. The animals that buy tickets and ppv want controversy and drama. Tom doesn't give that to us. He also doesn't have a "dynamic" style. He's a Great fighter. He might even be a legend someday. But the demand for him isn't there because he doesn't have a particular skill that shines. He's great everywhere. No Mirco head kicks. No Chuck wild knockouts. No Lyoto evasiveness. No Randy constant, unrelenting pressure. No Conor mic skills. He's just too effing nice and reserved.
I think he's a problem for Jon. I think he's a problem for anyone, but thats not enough to get headlines
