Great Video (as always). I think there is one important information missing. As far as I see you are jumping on the board *while your hands are on the board* (in particular your front hand). If they aren't I think placing the rear foot first ends in a splash. Maybe worth mentioning in the video
The very very best and most useful pumping tutorial ever! Thank you Ludo so so much for taking the time and the thinking to split up the process in all its detailed steps. I started pumping the first time last WK precisely. My running and jumping were... enthusiastic and of course disorderly and totally inefficient. Back to the water next week and applying your tutorial to the letters! BTW, I'm pumping at the Biscarosse lake in sw France. Had a nicer weather than at your place.
J'ai utilisé le ponton du port de Navarosse le WK dernier. Sinon, il y a plein de pontons au port du club de plongée mais ce serait probablement pour les pro (panneaux 'baignade interdite').
your tutorials are great - the one for flat water paddle up helped me a lot - merci beaucoup! Started to try Dock Start too but still have big problems to get into the pumping. Now have a question: the initial push with the back leg (for starting the pumping phase) - is it an active (hard) push down or rather a soft release of the rear of the board ? I have 65kg and use my old Gong X Over XL (1900mm2) - big enough for me to learn?
@@rower-m9y Hi! Thanks for your message! I’m glad it helps 😁 Yes, your FW is fine for your weight! I had it and worked for pumping 👍 Yes, active quick/short push but extending your body upwards to be light straight after having pushed. Pushing on the back foot will make the FW going up. The lighter you are the longer it will be able to climb. When it climbs let it be bringing your legs upwards to go as high as possible 👍 this way you take speed and connect with your foil for efficient pumping
@@rmoisio yes! I’m preparing a video where I start with a non easy foil with higher stall speed. I run faster and push harder on my legs when jumping on the board to reach the needed speed. But I don’t increase the number of steps (doesn’t work fine for me), I keep the three steps.
Thanks for the nice videos. Do you think it is possible to start with my wing foil setup. Wing Foil X-Over Alu in XXL. I have a 85 and a 65 Mast? Thanks
@@hubbsreaper Thanks you! Yes!! I started myself with this frontwing X-Over XXL and the 65 mast 👍 it was a good one to get started! Thanks for the video..merci beaucoup!! I am Goofey stance but start run & pump on Regular stance…becuz of the back foot landing on board first..now I become an ambidextrous-stance 😂……

tu aurais un ponton sympa pour mettre en pratique à Bisca ? j'y passe parfois merci

w a friend we tried different foils all the way until axis 799 and we needed more than three steps..
@@rmoisio thanks for the info 😁 there are more ways to start. I will try to learn with more steps to compare both techniques 👍

the collision of the wing with the dock pillar looked dangerous. the wing was not damaged? too big wing span for this dock :)
@@trybol123 no damage! The profile of the pillar is round 👍
Wingspan of 116cm is not that big for pumping, but will do it with a 85cm 😉
