Paul, I love TTR. and you have a great team. My small grouse is that you often challenge the opinion of Stato.. You so often accept the opinions of all even if you disagree. Surely Stato is due more respect in His assessments.
Its fun and entertaining though but Stato is right in this one about Longstaff, the defensive workrate balance on both wings with Joe and Gordon is so underrated and over shadowed by the Longstaff stat.
My man how long have you watched this channel? They are friends irl and this is the joy of this channel, if you think that was bad then you should of seen some of the proper times they disagreed! It can get heated but they always are civil and never fall out. Love TTR! ❤ Edit, I can see where their both coming from, Longstaffs been shite this season and played pretty well against Arsenal that's what made him stand out and so Longstaff deserves praise. Paul did not mention anything about Longstaff being in the side is better than Tonali. Stato was just pointing out the fact that some people are going down the path of we need Longstaff in the team every game which is stupid. So both are right.
I agree with Alex about Longstaff and I think Paul is over compensating his recent criticism of Longstaff by nominating him as MOTM. Yes the stat show we dont lose with Longstaff but we dont win or play well either, he is a player that brings some balance defensively but Im sure Tonali can step up to that as well, the balance on the wings is just as important.
I think their both right, Longstaff deserves praise as he's been crap in previous games and it will do his confidence some good BUT let's not all go down the road of we need Longstaff in the team to win. Different players for different strategies for different opponents.
I don't know what match people were watching. Willock was superb. That triangle of him, Isak & Joelinton, is just class. MOTM could have gone to anyone, really. Tino & Hall were imperious in defence, I think Saka is still lost in Halls pocket somewhere. Gordon's cross was, for me, up there with Willocks pass v Spurs, absolutely outstanding. Just need to carry this on for the rest of the season now. Forest are flying so it won't be easy, but if we keep the intensity and play every game like we have the last 2, then we'll be good.
This is the best and my favourite Newcastle channel I watch every show live or later the same day. But do me a favour Paul get off Statos back! You always say everyone can have an opinion apparently just not stato! 😅 great show though thanks team
One thing i liked about Shar was he noticed Pope was getting blocked off by Arsenal players and when he had a chance went to Howe on the touchline and mentioned he has to do something out it
People will hate me backing up Alex, but just watched a tactical breakdown of this game showing how important Willock's role was. So really people should be raving about his comeback rather than about Longstaff - though Sean obviosuly did a great job
I've always been strongly Howe in, but our last 2 losses it was the first time since he's been manager I've doubted him and I started to think "damn I one of those Howe in happy clappers?" lol. Then seeing this performance reassured me I'm not. It brought back memories of our top 4 season. The passion, the aggression, the energy, it was outstanding! Im relieved the players have stepped it up the last 2 games and showed what Howe is trying to do and think we as a fan base should remember this for the next time we lose and a small % of the fans have a melt down and want Howe out, realistically Howe needs another 2/3 transfer windows to finally get the squad he wants, our B team compared to other teams is relegation fodder. p.s Ive been watching some Arsenal channels and they want Arteta out after that loss against us lol. After all he's done for them challenging Man city the last few years, damn shameful imo. Anyway HWTL!
I am one of Eddie's biggest critics, because he is always reluctant to change anything. So I'm glad that he tried something different in the last two games. The problem is (And it happened last season as well) we will lose 5 games on the trot, before Eddie finally realizes he needs to change something. If Eddie can start being proactive, and change the formation/tactics/system more often (depending on the opponent, situation or current game) then Eddie is definitely the guy for us, and he must stay. Let's hope it continues, and also let's hope Eddie can get a plan B for low blocking teams.
we should give barnes more chance, last year he has been injured mostly. this year too he has not played matches continuously even after scoring and assisting. people are already saying to sell him. he has already proved that he is good enough in this team.
Arsenal TV and their You Tube channels, pure gold .. salty more salt than a Russian salt mine. They're turning on the team and manager. Wonderful stuff 👏
Lonstaff didnt pick the team and allow Joe Willock and Joelinton to play together with such chemistry on the left. That is why we have looked so good in the last two games. Longstaff was solid and played a good pass to assist the assist from Gordon. But is also very capable of fluffing those passes like he did at Stamford Bridge. Bruno should play in Longstaff's position and Tonali in Bruno's. This would be the best use of the players and Tonali is a better mover of the ball and dawdles less than Bruno. Let Bruno carry and pass further up the pitch and effect the game more in opponents half. Tonali can get the ball to our forwards much quicker.
The problem with longstaff is often he undoes any good work, by passing to the opposition overhitting passes, trying to belt it thru defenders etc, etc
I mean if we are talking about overhit passes then what about all of Bruno's whenever he tries to play a winger through from deep and the ball goes out for a goal kick? It's fine when Bruno tries a difficult ball and messes it up but if Longstaff does it everyone kicks off
@ZombieG24 I was talking in relation to Paul and statos opinions for and against longstaff on player ratings v Arsenal. Had it been Bruno I would be just as observant. Also, I am not talking about long deep passes from defence to attack, I am talking about bread and butter two yard passes that hit defenders. Completely different scenarios
I wonder why all attention is about midfielders, when our biggest issue remains the CBs. Eddie still needs to replace Dan Burn with Kelly. We've got riches in midfied..
Alex Tonali wont get robbed as much as Bruno because he doesnt seek to take as many touches and showboat like Bruno does. Against Chelsea it was 1 touch passing from him and it made our midfield play look levels above what it usually does.
I don't know if it's good or bad to witness that the problem of (lack of) interpretation is a global problem. Alex made it very clear that he agreed that Longstaff played well, but that he just didn't agree that he is the essential piece that makes the midfield work, and how absurd and dangerous that statement is. And (not) to my surprise the first comments were criticizing him for "having said that Longstaff did not do well". Holy s***!! lol And it's even more absurd because at the beginning of the season he was almost single-handedly defending a role for Longstaff in the squad. I swear people only hear what they want to hear these days
Watching on play back, sometimes alex tries to be to clever and comes across as being a knob 😂 the arsenal was the best game so far, do think your a good lad Alex 👍
Longstaff for motm for one good game. 😂 Now Paul is saying tonali hasn't set the world on fire. In midweek he was arguably our best player. Joelinton not getting a nomination for motm is scandalous.
Schar 7 should be reduced to 6 for the yellow card and for that I agree with Stato 5. Eddie should consider dropping him for getting carded 20 odd mins into game which adds pressure as your walking egg shells for a long period. Kicking ball away absolute fool. You don't mind if its to relieve a pressure cooker situation or give a player a Martain Keown reducer but a yellow for silly kicking ball 10 yrds is unforgiving. Spend a match on bench lad wise up.
Paul, I love TTR. and you have a great team. My small grouse is that you often challenge the opinion of Stato.. You so often accept the opinions of all even if you disagree. Surely Stato is due more respect in His assessments.
Definitely mate was going to comment the same well said.
Its fun and entertaining though but Stato is right in this one about Longstaff, the defensive workrate balance on both wings with Joe and Gordon is so underrated and over shadowed by the Longstaff stat.
It's simply debate, that's all.
I am not on the Longstaff bandwagon either 😂

@@rigmarola Yes, fair assessment.
Gordon, Tino and Hall were standouts for me. But yeah almost everyone was brilliant.
Lets hope Isak stays fit
This is the best and my favourite Newcastle channel I watch every show live or later the same day. But do me a favour Paul get off Statos back! You always say everyone can have an opinion apparently just not stato! 😅 great show though thanks team
It's simply banter, nothing more!
@TheToonReview I know mate, thanks for all the great content it's much appreciated
Watching on replay and Stato having a boom show...getting it right.
One thing i liked about Shar was he noticed Pope was getting blocked off by Arsenal players and when he had a chance went to Howe on the touchline and mentioned he has to do something out it
Totally agree paul
Would be hilarious for Stato to open a pressi Christmas morning to find a Longstaff coffee Mug. 🏁

Watched Trafford recently and couldn't understand why we'd want him? We need to look at a replacement for Pope soon.

Great old school goal wonderful cross and super header. Who says he can't head a ball!
Arsenal TV and their You Tube channels, pure gold .. salty more salt than a Russian salt mine. They're turning on the team and manager. Wonderful stuff 👏
It's was a good all-round team performance it's that simply lads
Alex is too negative about Longstaff. He was fantastic.
Lonstaff didnt pick the team and allow Joe Willock and Joelinton to play together with such chemistry on the left. That is why we have looked so good in the last two games. Little Joe's best performance in a very long time

Well done the lasses!
Lewis has got to be called up
Gordon
Watching on play back, sometimes alex tries to be to clever and comes across as being a knob 😂 the arsenal was the best game so far, do think your a good lad Alex 👍
These have been slagging Howe off for weeks!
Who? Yes he has been criticised and rightly so but also praised when he does well and makes good decisions.
Well said Alex, on Longstaff.
Longstaff for motm for one good game. 😂
Now Paul is saying tonali hasn't set the world on fire. In midweek he was arguably our best player.
Joelinton not getting a nomination for motm is scandalous.
It's simply about opinions and it was a match review based on the Arsenal game, nothing else! Joelinton was magnificent.
Here here
Where are all the Eddie haters hiding ?
These international breaks do know1 any favourz , it breaks momentum , rediculous this season these breaks
