I think while this is a good video that speaks truth, the title is not accurate to the issue that he is raising.
The speaker is stating the issue of our wrongful view of women, our need for a radical change at heart to learn how to properly love women, and how to take responsibility for the wrongful view of women
But this is not how to overcome lust, as we know many Christians struggle with the sin of lust especially with pornography, but regardless of the fact that many Christians understand how to properly love a woman, or another person, they fall into temptation of that thrill of orgasm regardless, why?
The way to overcome Lust is not by overcoming it at all, because in esscense you cannot defense lust, it is a nonrational, animalistic way to get a thrill of pleasure. there's no logic in it.
I once heard a pastor say "Anger and Lust are two opposite sins. In anger you have to think rationally through the problem you're facing in order to become calm and think straight on how to deal with the problem instead of letting anger control you. In lust you have to do the opposite and remove any source of lust from your mind and replace it with something better/ something that will distract you from those lustful thoughts, if you try to rationalize through your feelings of lust you will only feed and build that feeling of lust until you finally give into your urges"
So i always hear Christians saying "how to defeat lust/ how to overcome lust" and i think its just not the right approach at all. We as human beings cannot defeat lust itself, we can only RUN from it and make it nonexistent in our mind. Thats why God tells us to RUN from lust, that's what the verse in esscense is saying, don't stand your ground and fight, remove it out of sight and out of mind. and that will allow you to not even be tempted by lust.
YOU CANNOT defeat lust, JESUS CHRIST can defeat lust, so run away from any sinful thoughts, remove them from your mind and occupy your mind with something better, more Christ like, more loving, and you will have won a battle that you never had to fight.
