I watched 4 lessons in one day u make it so easy
Another useful piece of information I've learned is that most words ending in [-zione] or [-sione] are feminine (una conversazione, la versione), and that most nouns ending in consonants are masculine (un film, un bar, un computer). Thank you for this course!
ciao Lutein! Yes, it's true! Of course there will be exceptions, but what you said is generally true. Ottimo! 😁
Lecture Notes:
Every noun has gender, Masculine or Feminine.
Gender of nouns don't change
Articles, adjective, verbs change according to the gender of the noun.
In most of the cases, a noun ending in -o is masculine, a noun ending in -a is feminine.
Tips: Learn Nouns/vocabulary with articles.
Good Luck
Grazie!
Like Russian
But, not totally like Russian. Words with o ending is a middle gender in Russian
What's middle gender 🤔@@JaleDenziyeva-u8o
As a language teacher, anglophones (English speaking ppl) always ask why......because!
Being a Brazilian made this class easier than I thought 😂❤
Try being a Romanian :)
My first language is spanish and finding this course is amazing! It is so much easier to learn italian as a spanish speaker because the articles, vowels, gender and words are either the same or kind of the same. I will absolute keep continue learning with you and the courses you offer!!!

This is when it gets hard for me. The masculine and Feminine words are the challenge for me.
Don't give up! You can do it ❤
You can tell which is feminine or masculine from the sentence. A represents feminine and O is masculine for example he said Questa lavatrice è rotta you see questa ends with an a and rotta also ends with an A you can tell that word is feminine. Same with O. Hope I explained well
I think of it like a bag of marbles that come in two colors. They function the same but have different appearances.
I am german so it's normal for me and easier than in german
I will learn German after I learned Italian. German seems a bit harder.
I’m glad you said there’s no reason a word is feminine or it just is. I was stuck on that and couldn’t find an answer. Thank you.
I never thought I would enjoy learning a new language as much as I do with your lessons Manu! I love starting with the principles, it feels really empowering to know after my first lesson that I can read a menu out loud with correct pronunciation. And to know the tricks of determining gender both from the endings of the word or listening to the sentence in which they're used. Really looking forward to the rest, just wish I'd started this a month ago, not 4 days before my trip to Italy 🙃🙄(And anyway, I'm enjoying this so much I think I'll keep going after my holiday.)
Who is learning Italian by English and he is not a native 😅
Me here ahahaha
Me😂😂😂
Here
Me😢
Me😢😅
Manu this is awesome! I am English speaking but also Spanish and it’s so interesting that 99% of the words in Spanish that are feminine or masculine are the same gender in Italian and questa or questo is the same as esta or este to determine gender. Grazie Millie!
Ciao Virginia, grazie mille a te! 😍
Lol, this is where it lost me in Spanish as well.. oh well, guess I will stick to English.
Virginia, thank you for your comment. I am planning on learning Spanish soon, and I was wondering the same... whether there is that similarity between Italian and Spanish. You seemed to have confirmed that for me. Thank you...Grazie Millie
Same with Portuguese
It’s not surprising at all. Remember that these are Romance languages (Spanish, Portuguese, Italian, Romanian, Galician, French, Catalan, etc) so it all comes from our common ancestor Latin. Those prefixes all come from there. There may be variations here and there, but that does not change. It’s also why English has some words that are similar too. We have a lot of words that come from Latin as well, thanks to the bastardization with French.
Even Sanskrit nouns are addressed by Gender- masculine, feminine, and neutral. Thank you Sir Manu 🙏
Ciao Rajani! We are very happy to see you enthusiastic about learning the Italian language! 😁 and yes, Sanskrit has a lot of things in common with Italian 😍
Manu my man! You are a great teacher! The way you explain is sincere thorough and very passionate. Molto bene… Brava!!
If you know Spanish, you can pretty much skip this lesson!
Thanks for these videos, Mano! So helpful!
Questo è difficile per chi parla inglese ma non è impossibile da imparare. Grazie mille Manu!💕
Ciao Joee! Niente è impossibile con Italy Made Easy! Grazie a te 😍
@@italymadeeasy per forza!
Ciao Manu
I am french, and I speak english fluently
The gender lesson for words is easy for me because as a french native, every nouns have a gender
To know more languages can be very helpful in order to learn new ones. 🥰
So clear and helpful! The best channel for learning Italian.
I am getting more and more confident with mastering Italian. You are an amazing teacher. Thanks

The amount of happiness I felt when I got the gender right in the examples is amazing. I love your videos!
I would love to join the course, but i can't afford it- so i appreciate this series. i already know some Italian via language learning apps,so this all isn't Super hard for me! plus,Italian and my mother tongue has similar pronounciation too. Overall, grazie,Manu! Sono contento di questo 😄
Grazie a te! Anche noi siamo contenti che tu sia qui - we are also happy you are here! 💕
1 Lesson in and explanations seem so clear and helpful! I’m also doing a community college class in Italian for beginners so hopefully will speed up my learning! 🇮🇹
That's great! We are glad you are enjoying our videos 💪🥰
The tips do help! I started an eDX course from a top college and it drove me nuts with rules with little "context." I lost interest, but will try again...but we'll see how far I get with it....This is great!
Grazie!
I completed third lesson today, grazie mille manu
Amazing! We are proud of you 🥰💪
Thank you Thank you. I am going to Sardinia with friends in December and so far I have grasped the vowels which is a huge breakthrough. I have been in Italy many times and this is the first time I decided to try and figure out the basic to see if I could manage the language even if it is just a small introduction. So your videos really have me interested in trying to understand this beautiful language. So thank you! Cheers from Toronto
Thank you so much for your kind words! We're thrilled to hear that our videos have sparked your interest in learning Italian. Congratulations on mastering the vowels; that's a fantastic first step! Sardinia is an incredible destination, and we're sure your efforts will make your experience even more enjoyable. Keep up the great work, and enjoy your trip! Ciao! 😊🇮🇹
Like your lessons from Azerbaijan. I know English and Russian well and l learn Italy with you. Knowing these two languages provides me with Italian learning, because l can compare words, phrases, sentence parts which are similiar to their alternatives in Italy. Thanks a lot 👍
Thank you for your feedback! 🥰
I want to someday visit your country!
THANK YOU YOU MAKE LEARNING SO EASY
We are so glad to hear that! 🥰
day 3 done. grazie mano🙏
Ottimo video come sempre, grazie mille! Tanti auguri di buon compleanno and I hope you had the chance to take the day off! XX
Grazie Rita! Sono Martina del Team di Italy Made Easy, riferirò i tuoi auguri a Manu, un abbraccio! 🤗
This is soooo helpful! Gender is always the thing that trips me up and i get super overwhelmed, but this helps soo much, grazie millie🙏🏽
We are happy to help! Enjoy the mini-course 😍
Thanks Manu - I just found your You Tube channel and podcast - I am finding them really useful. My boyfriend is Sicilian - I live in the UK and he lives in Sicily. Over the years I have picked up enough Italian - but in a lazy way but my problem is when I ask a question in Italian I find it difficult to understand the reply - when I spend time in Sicily or Italy my Italian improves ( submersion ) but when I come home we speak in English again. Watching your video's and listening to your podcast is helping already. I intend to continue and will also look at the other lessons and courses you offer. Grazie mille
Telefono, libro, carne, and café are the same in Spanish also, while panino/pane, porta, and acqua are similar!! Lavar - to wash in Spanish. I think sink was lavandido and washing machine is lavatrice so many similarities! I'm happy I also study Spanish!!
Im very thankful that spanish and Italian are similar in so many aspects, it helps a lot r!
This video only reminds me of how spoiled I am to be a native french and german speaker, lol. Italian gender can't scare me! I'm very excited to learn italian with your help Manu, keep it up! I already know most of the things covered in the first videos but it's really great to be able to revise some essential rules.
Thank you! Enjoy the course, we will keep publishing new videos, stay tuned 😁
Lol! The same for Ukrainian!
Same, I speak Spanish, so I already know about this. But I figure it wouldn’t hurt, just in case there are words that aren’t predictable.
Thank you making me very motivated to learn italian. Big fan of your video’s. Greetings from The Netherlands
Thank you so much for your kind words! 💪🇮🇹 Un saluto dall'Italia ❤️
I am and his explanations are clear and relatable to daily life.
Your contents are really very amazing and helpful. I am from India and Italian is far more different from my language but still I am into it!! It has become very easy to learn Italian.. But ofcourse I'm facing a little problems regarding the pronunciation of consonants.. Sir I also want to learn French but I'm not able to find any good content like yours... Please suggest me some platforms where I can learn it.. It'll be so grateful with your help 😊
I have been listening to news in Italian and even though I know only a few words, I can understand something. Some words are so similar to English and Latin! Love Italian!!!!!
This is an excellent channel. Explanations are so helpful and so informative. Bravo
grazie molte, Rajan! 🙏
I do stress & curious more at the same time, never give up!
I love learning the language of my culture and Manu makes it so easy to follow along!
@johnjacob8825
If Italian were your culture, you would already know the language. I'm guessing your real culture is North American or Australian. Do you mean instead the language of your heritage?
These videos are really great! Thank you for providing them for free - they have really inspired me to commit to learning Italian. Your energy is really motivating and everything is very clear and at a manageable pace :-))
Thanks, Catherine! We really appreciate your feedback ❤️
This was great. I was three for 3 on the gender guessing. Also, I get mesmerized and forget this is a video and start answering you like you are sitting across from me. Ha! Thank you.
I am in Unit 6 of the From Zero to Italian Beginner Course. I think these new Italy Made Easy videos are a good refresher. So thank you Manu for making these videos. So now I have the Beginner Course, these refresher videos, my own Quizlet account, the Verb Conjugator and the online dictionary you provided a link for. Am I missing anything? Grazie mille!
Fantastico! That's the spirit! We are proud to have students like you with this much energy and dedication! Keep it up 🌟

Grazie ragazzo!! Benissimo❤️🇮🇹
Grazie a te Jason! ❤
Wonderful introductory videos . Will take these videos all the way.. thank you Manu
We are glad you like them!
I really like your lessons! English is not my native language but I understand everything. I learned Italian already but it's still useful for me to remember all that.👍❤
This is very useful. I am slowly getting into the Italian language in combination with Duo Lingo, italian music and series. For a starter, I think that's gonna be good enough... It also helps that I am Serbian
Wow, that last bit was really helpful for figuring out what the gender of a word it. Thank you again.
We are happy it was helpful! Thank you for following and supporting us! A presto!
I am only 2 days in and I love this channel, thank you.
Excellent ..Gives too much confidence in just 3 episodes >
At this lesson, with genders, I am very happy to know French. It helps alot!

Good lessons! Hard to try and remember where to use it and how it helps.
These lessons are very good I’m a beginner I only speak English. So I need all the help I can get. Thanks I appreciate your response.
Enyoyed this lesson too, thanks!! It makes it easier that I am fluent in Spanish, and that has a lot of similar male/female gender. Question: How is CH sound, che or like ke?????
ciao Dani! wonderful, we are happy you are enjoying our course! C is a complicated letter, we explain it in lesson 24 ruclips.net/video/WJ-OdXpFbHc/видео.html ❤️
@@italymadeeasyoh okay, good. Bc I have the same question! I see it a lot but I make (probably a common Spanish speaker) mistake of pronouncing ch like chat. 🤦♀️ still learning!!
Next time I will write in Italian. Loving ur classes, thank u Manu
Thank you for being here! 🥰
Oh wow. This is good to go with
Thank you so much for this lesson.
Thank you for watching! We are glad it was helpful! ☺️🇮🇹💪
Before learning Italian, I learned portuguese, so fortunally, this is not a big problem for me.
Nice to read it! A presto, Martim!😊
You’re so awesome ❤ Thank you for this channel!
🙏 thank you for learning Italian with us!
Molto grazie. Thank you so much ❤
La camicia di primaclasse Manu!
Thanks God, I'm a Spanish native speaker so gender in words is a topic I'm familiar with.
Started learning Italian love from India 🇮🇳
Sending back love from Italy 🇮🇹 welcome on board!
Thank you, very interesting.. I was not aware of italian gender.very helpful. Great teacher
Thanks! We really appreciate your feedback ❤️
grazie thanks
Thanks for your informative videos. Could you recommend an Italian dictionary that lists nouns with their articles? You mentioned this is the best way to learn.
Ciao! A reliable and free online dictionary you can use is WordReference! 🤗
Thanks for lessons
I like these classes. You explain everything well. I speak Spanish already, so it’s not too foreign for me, it just feels a bit like an itch. I understand everything that’s being said, but I can’t respond back! So frustrating 😂 😭 . I think there are very few words that I don’t yet know. I think I could speak with what I already know, I just need to practice more.
Ciao! You are 100% right: a bit of practice, and soon you'll be able to reply to people talking to you in Italian! 💪 Buona pratica! 😘
Love your lessons thanks
Grazie! 🙏
Day 3🎉🎉Lets Go
Thank you so much 💐
Wow😍 that's the course I was looking for😍 you're an amazing teacher!
I'm from Egypt, and we also have gender for every noun but the biggest problem that faces Arabic speakers in learning italian is that there are many words that are feminine in Arabic but masculine in italian like the word sky, and the opposite is right like the word door because it's masculine in arabic. But actually I'm not worried about it because most of Italian people who can speak Arabic (especially Egyptian dialect) confuse masculine and feminine words in arabic for the same reason😂😂♥️
greetings to you from Alexandria 😍🙈
Grazie mille, Eman🥰 We are so happy to have you on board! So interesting your comment about Arabic speakers 👏
Great teacher
Thank you! 😃
This one isn’t sinking in 😮. especially the ones that have no gender. I will watch again and keep going and I won’t stress ❤
You're doing great! 😊 Keep watching, practicing, and taking it step by step. Each time you review, things will start to click more and more. Remember, it’s a journey, and there’s no rush. Stay positive and enjoy the process. ❤
My 1st language is hindi 🇮🇳 and learning feminine/masculine is easy 4 me 🤗
Thanks a lot.
Thank YOU Kulprit, we are happy to help you 😁
Thank you
Absolutely genial
thank you! we are happy that our videos are helping you learn 🤗🥰
As an Iranian, it’s tricky to learn genders in Italian language since Persian is an Indo-European genderless language, but you made it easier for me Manu🙏🏻
🙏💪🇮🇹
Grazie
Molto
Well explained
🥹🙏
Grazie mille
Grazie a te! Welcome on board 😁
Im really good at learning italian😎😉😄, because of my teacher
😎💪
thank you so much
🤗 grazie a te, Hamid!
Grazie signor 🤚
It was so difficult for me to grasp this knowledge, I had to watch video thrice. Grazie for teaching. Being a Pakistani, urdu language also have noun depends upon gender.
To learn a new language requires patience, Musaib, but you are doing great! 🥰 We are happy to have you on board.
Hey, so i want to get into harvard and u need a 4yr max of a forign language. Do u recommend using ur channel?
This is is a bit random but I used to learn Latin in school and as you may know, Latin has neutral Words and that's where the e probably comes from and Italian just sorted it randomly it would really help if they'd bring that back lol
ciao Blue! Yes, you are correct, Latin had neutral words! However, not all the -e words come from neutral latin words. It's messy indeed 😅 a presto!
Ciao I like your lessons ❤
Thanks! We really appreciate your feedback ❤️
Very good lessons, too much context but that's good. The only problem for me is that your course is oriented for English speakers so all that phonetics are a little bit repetitive for me because in Brazilian Portuguese, specially being from São Paulo I'm already used to the phonetics, I'll skeep to the grammar and orthographic part. What video is better for me?
Manu! Un caro saluto 👍🏻
Ciao Jason, un caro saluto a te!
Tip (correct me if i m wrong ) : if u know french u ll notice that words have the same gender . For me it is very easy to know the gender when i know the meaning of it because i can just translate it
Awesome😊
Thank you! ❤
As a native Arabic speaker, genders make a perfect sense
