    Ewing's last year as an all star calibur center. He was still decent & effective from 98-00, but he was never quite the same though. Houston & Spree became the leaders & faces of the team from 99-02/03. This was one of the Knicks best teams of the 90s that shoulda went to the ECF's that yearif it wasn't for that PJ Brown/Ward fight. I thought this series would go the full 5 games, cuz Charlotte took 3 out of 4 in the regular season, but was very surprised with the sweep.

    Patrick Ewing is really the only player that can say he never had help. He didn't have another top 75 teammate.

    • @NatTurnerswitBurnerz
      @NatTurnerswitBurnerz 9 месяцев назад +1

      Ewing was dominated in the 1994 Finals by Olajuwon, who didn't have a top 75 player on his team either. Drexler didn't join the Rockets until 1995, if that's who you're thinking of. The Knicks did get to the Finals in 1999 when Ewing was an oft-injured role player.

    • @NatTurnerswitBurnerz
      @NatTurnerswitBurnerz 9 месяцев назад +1

      Everybody needs help. It's a team game. Having a top 75 player guarantees you nothing. The problem for Ewing was, when his team lost, the best player on the court was on the other team. And it was often MJ.

    • @rooseveltdarbey9493
      @rooseveltdarbey9493 9 месяцев назад +1

      I wouldn't say Hakeem dominated Patrick Ewing the way he did Robinson. It was close in the 94 finals. But John Starks was horrendous in game 7, and nobody else helped Ewing. In 94 Hakeems teamates made shots.

    • @VMakNYC
      @VMakNYC 9 месяцев назад

      Patrick Ewing averaged 18.9 points, 12.4 rebounds and 4.3 blocks in 7 games in the 1994 NBA Finals. He was dominated by Olajuwon. In the crucial game 3 loss, Ewing took 29 shots and only made 9, while not even having a free throw attempt! And Starks was really good in Game 6, which was the Knicks best chance to win the Championship, while Ewing only shot 30 percent and didn't even get to 20 points.
      Let's face it, if Ewing stepped up his game in the Finals instead of bad shooting, New York would have won the Championship. Pat played below average for his level, while he needed to play like he did in Game 7 against the Pacers in 1994 ECF. (@@rooseveltdarbey9493
