    Dang that sucks that you had these problems. I've seen a few Penske trucks for decent prices but after hearing your problems and their sus no test drive policy I'll just pass on anything Penske.
    Thanks for sharing 👍 and safe travels 🙏

    I am so glad you did not roll over and let them slide. They were trying to wear you out but they failed. You now have the truck you deserved with no problems that you paid for in the first place. Thank you for the story. I am 64 and having to find new occupation and box truck is what i want to do. Lot of people say i am to old but i have worked my ass off my whole life and i know i can do it. Is it to late for me my friend?

      I don’t think it’s ever too late, it just comes down to if you’re willing to put in the work, drive long hours & be away from home for periods of time. A lot of what we face on a day to day basis is more mental than physical. Don’t get me wrong it’s physically challenging too but more so mental.

    I’ve had similar issue with these big name maintenance shops telling me bs reasoning at outrages wait times. I found a small local diesel mechanic that is super fair priced and my truck is never in there for over 1 day. I got new steer tires, rear break shoes, PM, and a leaf spring kit put on in 8hours. Forget those big name shops, and finding you a local guy is your best bet for successful maintenance in this game!!!

      You’re absolutely right, the smaller shops are the way to go. Definitely don’t take your truck to Rush in Joliet, had a trans seal go bad on an enterprise truck. Dropped it off it took almost 2 months for them to complete it, by the time it was done enterprise asked if I wanted it back because it was a Freightliner & my favorite truck…I told them I was good in the international after waiting that damn long.

      Yeah Rush in Joliet is the actual shop I was talking about! They told me 2 weeks for a NOx sensor… My guy I found had it ordered and put on in 4 hours lol. I’ve never gone anywhere else since that day. I can shoot you a email with his info if your looking for a guy in Joliet, he’s right off 80.

      Appreciate the words of encouragement, I just look to provide information that wasn’t available when I made my purchase that may prevent a newer business owner from going through similar situations. I speak casually about the situation but these issues probably would have put 70% of people out of business. You incur months of expenses without being able to properly run your truck, plus Penske refuses to pay any reimbursements for insurance, truck notes, rentals etc until the repairs are completed which we see could take over 6 months.

    Trucks aren’t required to have siren. 2nd freight liners with tanks on driver side will have a slight lean. The eaton transmission is a little more jerky than the allison but it’s a more reliable than allison bc it’s an automated manual

    • @midwestboxtrucking
      @midwestboxtrucking  5 месяцев назад +1

      You’re correct, Truck Centers Inc informed me that a backup siren was not a DOT requirement. I always had one on my enterprise rentals so I thought they were mandated. I do not think my truck should lean at all no matter where the components are, my mechanic doesn’t either. If that was the case then they all should lean & not just some, my truck leans due to the spacer shown in the video. I don’t like the 7th gear on the Eaton trans, I think it would’ve been good with 6. But I must agree the auto manual shift works seamlessly.

    • @Stoshy266
      @Stoshy266 5 месяцев назад

      @@midwestboxtruckingI was with Enterprise too and I had a freightliner that leaned. The mechanic told me all of them do it. Its more of an error on Freightliner than Penske. I bought a freightliner and it has that same 1” lean. Idk about the spacers but if both of your tanks on the driver side itll most likely still lean. Its not an issue while driving and you wont notice it. I normally load the passenger side heavier and that will usually offset the lean. Good luck with your truck tho 👍🏽

    So with everything that has gone on with you and your truck, what advise you could give us?

    • @midwestboxtrucking
      @midwestboxtrucking  5 месяцев назад

      First demand a vehicle history report before purchase, next buy within driving distance of home maybe 300 miles max that way you can take a diesel mechanic, third reject the truck at the dealership if it’s not in the advertised condition, even if the paperwork has been completed the sale can be voided & the vehicle can be switched. Lastly explore various options before buying, try Ryder, Enterprise, TAC Auction, Taylor & Martin, Ritchie Bros, Iron Planet as well as private sellers on fb marketplace. That website level system is very attractive but not 100% accurate.

    • @midwestboxtrucking
      @midwestboxtrucking  Месяц назад

      I’d be very careful, a lot of those trucks are not as advertised. Something advertised as a level 1 may actually be a level 2 or 3. Just make sure you get a service history report.

    They don’t let u test drive and or have a mech. Test ?

    • @midwestboxtrucking
      @midwestboxtrucking  5 месяцев назад

      No you’re not allowed to test drive Penske trucks off the lot which doesn’t make sense at all & seems fishy. You are allowed to bring along whoever you like to inspect the truck on the lot but alot of these purchases are made out of state. Plus in most cases by the time you actually see the truck all of the paperwork has been completed & the repairs would fall under Penske’s 15 day rule.

  • @klassyred8069

    Why didn't you take it to a TA?

    • @midwestboxtrucking
      @midwestboxtrucking  4 месяца назад +1

      TA has an hourly labor rate similar to Center State international, Penske has guidelines on how much they’ll pay for particular repairs. They wont cover the full repair bill from shops like TA.

    • @klassyred8069
      @klassyred8069 4 месяца назад

      @@midwestboxtrucking I use to take my 18 wheeler to TA, don't give up. Always remember when a company mess up repairs you have paid for they have insurance policies to compensate your loses that they do not want to file a claim on. They pay big dollars for those policies, even if you have more than one truck, the one you've lost the money on they have to pay. You got this keep pushing.

      @@JosephLorenzo-ed9cy I refused to buy a truck without air ride, that was one of my requirements. If you’ve ever drove a box truck with spring suspension you’d know why, it’s the most bumpy, violent ride ever. Most shippers don’t care rather you have air or spring, I’ve never had a shipper ask about it.

  • @rigobertoespinoza1685

    Bro im not even a mechanic and ill think your box is leaning because of your ubolts that connect to the frame. You have to torque them every know and then your welcome. Oh yeah dont let them bs you all there doing is reseting the ECU codes. The truck is programed to run test while you drive it. If the Ecu senses something OFF then the code will come back. Look up a OBD drive cycle. Hell i got a 2022 truck i aint letting any "mechanic" touching my truck.

    • @midwestboxtrucking
      @midwestboxtrucking  5 месяцев назад

      I’m sure my lean issue is mainly caused by the added spacer on the passenger side. The U Bolts have to be replaced regardless once they remove the spacer because they’re already worn & rusted. Thanks for the input!
