@Cathy A. If this was for me, yes I have seen many interviews of his. From what I gathered he boiled it down to that but clearly they were having problems before then. Did you see their Barbara Walters interview? Due to her own baggage I believe she just doesn't trust men and being in control of her bubble is the result. jmo.

It's clear that Mariah is really humble, kind and generous..we've heard it from many people including Nick, people that truly know her, & have worked with her. The diva thing is just a facade...like he said she plays it up and laughs about it. So, the diva thing wasn't an issue.
1. However, I think MC had a lot of trauma to deal with from her family and past marriage. Tommy Mottola controlled Mariah's every move from what she wore to what she sang, who she spoke to and hung out with, and where she went. And Mariah refuses (as she should) to let anyone control her like that again. Hence, she probably had a hard time letting go and being free.
2. Mariah is a megastar/living legend. During their marriage people would put Nick and his own success second to Mariah's. So that probably made him feel "small" & that got to him.
