Just blown away on how great the eagle looks and flies, compliments to the wife on her painting skills. I really love how inclusive this hobby is and you have reminded us all to share the hobby with our friends and loved ones.
Very nicely done. I built a bald eagle glider years ago from EPP foam, real Bald Eagles have flown right up to it and some have even tried to grab at it with their talons. This was an extension of our club Red Tail Hawk project which several members built and flew successfully. Fun stuff!
I just finished my build. I used black PLA and LW-PLA. I'm on the fence over painting it before I maiden it. Thank you Troy! So appreciate your tip on motor braking, that thought never even crossed my mind...
Very pretty, and a great stealth airplane! Nice thing about 3D printing is when it break you just print replacement parts. So folks keep in mind 3DP planes are SUPER fragile and with LWPLA every moreso.
Thank you, There were some birds out there when I was flying it and they were making all kinds of noises. The paint job is my favorite part she did a great job.
You two are a cute couple and I love that you work together to produce these videos. I'm sure many of us would would be happy for our wives to take an interest in our hobby. The plane is awesome!
I built the Dancing Wings version of the eagle which tip stalled and crashed in a place I couldn’t get to (my fault). Yours looks sooooo much better. Great job.
I've never heard of doing this before. What a great idea. It makes sense, though, because we as human beings can't do any better than replicating nature itself.
WOW!! Ha! This looks amazing! At first place, it seems a bit "weird", the way this thing looks, especially the wings with this appearance! But then again we should keep in mind that airplanes where designed by "cheating" info straight from nature and eagles gave so much help, regarding to the way they fly.. Eagles had winglets, they gave us the example! Very nice paint job too! Greetings from Greece!
Also to be mentioned : planeprint did a great job for designing parts specially for LW-PLA, all backward parts of wings are very well designed such as printing is much easier that other planes also made for LW-PLA.
Oh my gosh that looks incredible! Your wife did an amazing job on the paint. I would love to see how other animals react to this thing in the air. Haha!
I switched to stainless screws instead of the nickle coated screws as he shows. Not that much weight difference in the hardware. I Have had those screws strip on me even with a good precision screw driver. Some people might not take the wings off for transport, but I usually carry several different planes to the field, like the Big Bobber and model A. Thanks for the inspration to build a few of these! Awesome stuff!
17:30 you have that mix backwards; when you pull up, the flaperons should drop, adding lift, you have them raising up, which is reducing lift at the same time the rear elevator is increasing the wing’s angle of attack, attempting to increase* lift. You have it set up so they are fighting each other
Your projects are crazzzy cool. If I was to fly your eagle in my zone, It would eliminated by our resident eagles, they are so very territorial, however it would be an epic vid. Thanks for what you do.
Wow love it . I have a suggestion that would be amazing. I was studying the the giant phillipine eagle, being the largest bird of prey yet due to its jungle environment has not the largest wingspan because its far stealthier and able to navigate the dense trees easier. What I'm suggesting to your very talented self is a study of the particular wings and even cleverer, could you create a double closing wing mechanism . How amazing would it be to sour on those wings but be able the retract and dive gaining immense speed. Would like need superior strenght building material due to structural stresses that would no doubt occur when pulling out of those dives . I CAN only pray you read this and be as excited as I would be if you could pull this off successfully
I remember when I was a teen of an eagle made of styrofoam that you would fly it into the sky like a kite then jerked the line to release it and it would glide down gracefully like a bird.
Nice model, well built and painted. I bought the eagle to print but haven't started yet. Still finishing the eclipson model c, waiting for some parts to arrive from China as we don't have many hobby shops in Spain. This great video will really help when i get started, so thanks for making it.
the aerodynamic performance of this is no surprise - mother nature is the best engineer. unstallable, soooo fast and elegant. love it!

What a cool story!
Mate,,, No One was lookin at the Paint Job!!
Good to see that you are increasing your Flight time video and Actually Landing! Awesome..
I just finished my build. I used black PLA and LW-PLA. I'm on the fence over painting it before I maiden it.
Thank you Troy! So appreciate your tip on motor braking, that thought never even crossed my mind...
Sweet! Good luck on the maiden! Glad I could help :)
@@TroyMcMillan Troy, can you tell me what diameter L-PLA you recommend?
Wow! an RC bird, that wings it's way to you, right through the internet! Amazing times, we live in! Thanks for sharing this.

Looks like im finally gonna have to pull the plug on getting a 3d printer. This thing as a slope soarer will be awesom
hi every body. just iwould like to say magnificent work and design done by Epic DIY 3D printer and amazing design Eagle Build
I don't fly planes, but if I did, I would surely buy these. I might just to build, paint and hang it from the ceiling. So well done!
This looks like something that would be great for clearing birds at airports. Wouldn't it be a great to have fun and get paid for doing it?
That's actually a good point!
@@TroyMcMillan i8iīû
Until you fly into a turbine and cause another 9/11 on an airport runway lmao
Good point
Sounds like something that can be automated ;~;
Hi your wife did a great painting job... Greatings from Dresden in Germany
thank you!
Amazing project! The jack rabbits were probably running for cover with that flying overhead. Nice job, she really did a great faux bird paint job. 👍
Thank you, There were some birds out there when I was flying it and they were making all kinds of noises. The paint job is my favorite part she did a great job.
@Current Batches I wouldn't have been surprised either haha
Not just a rabbit, a chicken will run for it life.
@@TroyMcMillan I know some landfills that would like to hire some eagles to keep the seagulls away.
- It's a bird!😲
- It's a plane!🤯
- You're goddamn right😎
Paint job is on point.
A very nice build and nice realistic-looking paintwork, done by your wife. 👍
You two are a cute couple and I love that you work together to produce these videos. I'm sure many of us would would be happy for our wives to take an interest in our hobby. The plane is awesome!
This print is some of the best design work i've seen done in the RC hobby
Amazing! When I flew my first RC plane, a bunch of birds started chasing it. I bet not a lot of them would chase this one..
True, there was some birds out there when I flew it and they were making all kinds of different sounds.
@@TroyMcMillan 🤣 All kindzzzzzzz.
Me too faced the same with a group of crows.
Your wife did an awesome job painting the Eagle it looks real!!
Yes she did a great job on the paint. Definitely the best part
I built the Dancing Wings version of the eagle which tip stalled and crashed in a place I couldn’t get to (my fault). Yours looks sooooo much better. Great job.
Sorry to hear your Dancing wing crashed. This Eagle flies very well for the maiden it was a bit windy and it handled it very well.
Mennn u are the best.when it comes to 3d printed planes.
thank you!!
@@TroyMcMillan u welcome
Wow!!Just awesome!
RC +3d printer+an awesome guy=just awesome!!👏👏🙌🙌
I've never heard of doing this before. What a great idea. It makes sense, though, because we as human beings can't do any better than replicating nature itself.
You should spray it with some Dullcoat, it's a little to shiny. Also detail the tail feathers with some edge scallops. All together it's awesome!
Very nice. Awesome paint work!
15:21 You might want to double check prop blade screw/nuts to ensure opposite each other for better propeller balance.
Thank you for this tip. This was the first time using a foldable prop so thank you for the suggestion.
The artwork is incredibly realistic. Wow! Dude! That's a lot of work putting it together. How about.... You build it...and we will buy it.
You build all the cool stuff Troy! Your wife did an amazing job painting the eagle!!!
Thank you, Yes she did an awesome job with the paint.
Great to see you making your hobby to a professional level.
Thank you
The braking prop is a nice touch
thank you!
He did a great job building it but she made it into an eagle. Gorgeous job!
thank you!! she did a great job with the paint
This is awesome, and also the future of RC. We will need planes like this to fly under the radar of the FAA and Karen.
Man, be proud, very proud. Also on your wife. Great Job(s)
That is an AMAZING bit of engineering and craftsmanship.
Paint job is really good. From the air, could certainly pass for the real thing. 3D printers are fantastic.
Wow the soar is awesome. A micro 3d printed ornithopter would be cool.
Absolutely incredible!! You are a master Engineer and she is a master Artist. Great job friends!
Superbe réalisation. Ça doit bien voler.
J'adore cette réalisation. La peinture faite par madame est splendide !
You are awesome. All of your projects are real craftsmanship with great portions of engineering. Thanks for your contribution.

Thank you, Hello from Las Vegas
You are my role model. The channel is full of creative works. As an aerospace engineer, I always find fun in your videos. Keep up the good work!
One question: Do you prefer SI units to Imperial units?
Beautiful Artist and sweet eagle... Nice Brown colors... Beautiful in the air!!!
That's exactly what I was thinking the whole video, that paint must have taken forever. Great video. Thanks!
Ya the paint was a lot of work and took a lot of time. But it is definitely worth the time it makes it look really good. Cheers
Superb achievement ! Very nice painting. Greetings from France.
Superbe réalisation ! Très belle peinture. Salutations de France.
Gute gemacht. Motiviert zum Nachbauen.

they did a great job!
Now this kind of stuff is worth buying a 3D printer, I can also imagine the number of things I can make for my rc cars too
Its awesome for making random things. Brackets, cones, stands, any odd thing you need. There are some really cool planes out there too!
Very nice design! I started printing the parts yesterday...
An optional wing with Flaps will be very nice.
Have fun with your build. You may be able to add a small amount of flap setting to the ailerons like flaperons.
@@TroyMcMillan I'll try that, but effective flaps should be mostly at the root section of the wing.
WOWWWWWWW!!!! GREAT JOB!!!
Wow wow wow, quality print is really awesome, great job to you and your wife 🥰
Thank you
Congatulation-perfect Projekt. Hope the engine stays alive - Cool Air slots are a good idea! Have Fun!
Excellent!!! Teradactil next with over a six foot wing span or go big with a dragon !!!
best revolution in rc plane
Great paint job.
Very nice. Looks like a big step beyond the old EPP Eagle
yes, especially the control surfaces. the old one only had a V tail and was difficult to control, no ailerons
J'adore, magnifique , et effectivement la peinture faite par Madame, vraiment splendide
This is awesome. I've got to learn to do this once I get a 3D printer
you should glue feathers on it. :). Nice job
Un grand bonjour de la France !
Merci pour tes vidéos très instructives.
Je suis en train d’imprimer l’aigle et ta vidéo va beaucoup m’aider 😉
Oh my gosh that looks incredible! Your wife did an amazing job on the paint. I would love to see how other animals react to this thing in the air. Haha!
Thank you :)
Wonderful bird. Artful painting.
Bruh could you imagine being a rodent or something, spotting an eagle and instead of it diving towards you it deploys an autocannon
the best is the paintwork .... super !
Great job and video!!
Next you can get rid of and mix the rudder into a two-axis elevator.
Amazing work guys . The build was good and your wife painting was great well done to both of you regards Richard from the U.K.
Thank you so much, She did a great job with the paint hello from Las Vegas.
Flight controller on i-nav and it will fly itself, and a vertical stabilizer is not needed. Great job!

Fabulous idea, I think about this week to build a seagull and give me some solutions!
Congretulations
Awesome job, both build and paint
So Awesome!
Would love an STL file...but with an EDF power source!

Yes, I did see the Seagull, but would prefer an Eagle, Hawk or Snow-owl!

Would love to see you build the new Snowy Owl from Planeprint!
Awesome job dude, I'm gonna wear out my printer if I keep watching this channel!
That is good to hear keep the printer feed with PLA.
I just finished my build. Need to paint. Yours came out great.
Nice this build was so fun. Definitely needs some paint to finish this build up.
Man if I flew that out at my field the Hawks would pester the hell out of me! nice build good job in the paint
Wow! Never seen anything like it
Birds in the background having heart attacks...lol

had one of them , it was awsome
@@winstonsmkr Yes they were, I bet they would sell like crazy nowadays.

Should paint the propeller to match the beak and head when it's folded.
