Great tutorial, happy to say with your help, I managed to replace both sides, and they are working fine! I'm no mechanic, so I was chuffed to bits when they started working 👌🏾. Thanks again 👊🏾👍🏾
If you're one of the people this didn't work for but got the motivation to do this from this video like myself. Here's what I to mine did after messing about with it when it didn't work. So, I took out the new wiper motors I just bought from the car after I've installed them and they're not working. Reinstalled the old ones that weren't working into the car and left them hanging out...i.e...i didn't attach the wiper blades and whatnots just yet... Connected the battery and started the car engine... Turned on the wipers, even though they were still the old bad ones... wasn't working yet.. Unplugged the first old wiper motor, plugged in the new one.... unplugged the 2nd old wiper motor and plugged in the new one... Then the wiper motor shafts started oscillating. I didn't risk taking out the plugs again... haha! Squeezed the motors back into their holes and attached the wiper blades. I was overwhelmed because the mechanic quoted a bill of £900 to buy and repair both. Meanwhile I got both for less than £400 on eBay.
What a great video Followed the steps, however the driver's side was a bit of a pig to replace as there isn't much wiggle room. So grateful for this cost £125 for the drivers side.
@@matteopellegri8913 Hi Matteo, yes there were a few on there for around £120. Some C5s are listed for breaking so my advice is check to see if they have that part.
Hey. Big thanks for taking time and posting the video. I have a question. I am in Norway,so left hand drive. My right passanger wiper is not working properly. When I engage the wipers, the left side is ok,working as it ahould buit the right side make a small move and stay in open high position until I lock the car and unlock after some time. Then it goes back to close position but not working, only this action. Is the UK market and EU market the same sides, meaning the same motors (part number) left and right? Will try to reset BSI,but if no help. I will biy used motor, since new is crazy expensive. Greetings!
@@JotkotGTX560ti hey Karlo. BSI reset didnt work for me. I even removed both of the motors and let them sit inside on warm, and used even extra heat to dry the electric part out. I even opened mechanical part inside and cleaned the rust and what not. Plus I add an extra grease and lubrication since it was all rusted and wet. But unfortunately,I still have the problem. So I order a used motor for the side that was not working. However, that motor was from UK market and when I installed, both wipers didnt work at all. When I installed the old original back,it went back to the same situation, driver side working, passanger didnt. So my next step is to order both sides motors from the same vehicle,if possible (jus to be in the safe side I guess). Honestly It really upsets me that both are not working. I done this video almost one year ago so I don't remember if there was some part whit rubber hoses, anyway all the parts that I removed are in the video. Thanks
Thanks for share this video helps a lot, but i have another problem in my C5 2008 1.6 HDI 80kw , my windshield wiper stop working and i think is the fuse ou the relay, but i dont no how to check, i already check the fuses inside and the does close to the engine but i dont find nothing wrong but the relays i just check the one above the ECU. Do you have any idea what can be? sorry about my english hahahaha
I think is one of the two motors, if you want to test a relay you have to apply current on specific pins then if you hear a "tik" that's mean is in good working order. It's little bit difficult to explain but is very easy to do it. Try to google it, it's much easier to understand with a picture.
Because they have electric connections so is better to unplug the battery terminal first, and for the window and the key because this car have a BSI so every time you disconnect the battery is better to perform a "BSI reset", that's why in this way you already done half procedure to do the BSI reset. Check my other video where I show how to perform a BSI reset. Thanks.
