    I put a B&M Racing drain plug on the back sloop of the pyramid as it sticks out more then I like. Doorman and others also make a drain plug also. I even put one on my differential cover, works great.

    Have you had any issues with the drain bolt leaking? I've read some reviews and drain bolt leaking was an issue along with a tight fit causing a potential issue with the drain bolt and filter spacing. Any info would be greatly appreciated.

      Hey Mike! I haven't had any issue with leaks. The pan has been perfect so far.
      However, if I do have a leak down the road, the way I would fix it is with some Teflon Tape. Just put it around the threads of the bolt and it will never leak again. Just make sure it's the tape, and not the paste.
      Thanks for watching! 🤟

    What do you think about chainring transmission oil twice??

    • @TrickShiftGarage
      @TrickShiftGarage  Год назад +1

      I'm actually going to be changing the fluid again this spring/summer. That is around 30k miles since the last time I changed it. I think I know why you ask that. Since dropping the pan only removes about half of the fluid, it's actually a good idea to change it again before you hit 60k miles. Having this style pan with a drain bolt makes that a lot easier.

    Was it the the same size or more shallow compared to oem

    • @TrickShiftGarage

      To be completely honest, I never measured it or anything. But, it looked about the same and I haven't had any issues. If I do, I'll come back and let you know.

    Si no lleva ese perno es para obligar a cambiar el filtro de la transmisión

    • @TrickShiftGarage
      @TrickShiftGarage  Год назад +1

      You still have to change the transmission filter when doing a fluid change. That bolt just helps remove the fluid before removing the pan.
      Aún debe cambiar el filtro de la transmisión al realizar un cambio de líquido. Ese perno simplemente ayuda a eliminar el líquido antes de retirar la bandeja.

    Why not drill a hole in the drain pan to drain the tranny fluid ?
    Since you are replacing the drain pan with a new one ( with a drain plug ), there should be no issues drilling a hole in the old drain pan to drain the fluid. A lot less messy draining the fluid this way.

    • @TrickShiftGarage
      @TrickShiftGarage  Год назад

      Less messy than the new pan? This is an easy upgrade for anyone. You can definitely drill a hole, but if you mess up and need to get a new pan, you won't have anything covering the transmission until a new pan arrives. That could be trouble for people that need to get to work.

    • @oneeyedlama

      Don't drill the hole in the old drain until you have the new pan delivered. Ridiculous to unscrew 21 bolts and have tranny fluid spilling all over the place. I did this task by first drilling a (1/8 inch) hole in the old drain pan and it worked perfectly.
      I waited till I had the new pan before I drilled the hole to drain the fluid. If you're in no rush, you can let it drain overnight and put the new pan and filter on the following day. It works, I did it and there was no messy oil spills. Nice video keep up the good work.

      Yea you can do that. It wasn't that bad removing all of the bolts though. Thanks for watching!

    Hello Trick Shift Garage!
    This is Nove from AISKITS, I watched your channel it’s really exciting and impressive.
    This is a newly launched LED headlight! You can see this LED headlight, is not cool?it is our latest development of a product!
    In the United States, there are many classic cars, they are our closest partners! Now they may need some upgrades to accompany us better.
    Replacing and upgrading our headlights does more than making driving safer. They improve the look of your vehicle as well as its performance. LED bulbs have a lower power pull on your vehicle’s battery and system. They also give our vehicle a fresh and new feel with bright white light.
    I was wondering if you could do a share for it on your RUclips:
    • Introduction
    • Overview of features
    • Actual driving footage with the bulbs
    • Amazon link on the description for viewers interested in buying the product."
    Please let me know if this is OK with you. Really looking forward to working with you.
    Best wish,
    Nove
