T1 showed their Vayne hand early and had no other responses in draft beyond their standard picks. They also got cocky and let Gen G have their picks. Hopefully T1 can ramp up again for MSI.
It's not Gen G abusing top tier meta picks - it's just T1 letting opponents get the top tier champs. They just don't ban them or pick it themselves. Just a good reminder is the Worlds 2022 finals not banning/picking the Aatrox. They've always been like this.

Gen G swallowed their pride and copied T1’s strategy while T1 became confident they can beat Gen G for whatever may come in game 4. Proved to be fatal for them. This T1 lost does not hurt as much as last year because this time they looked like they could put up a fight and they did. Sad that they let Ksante open and play Zac into it. I thought Faker would have done better with another Mid champ like Hwei, Ahri, Cass, or Victor who were all open. T1 performance in the first game was better than the 5th game to be honest. However, unlike last years games this one was not one-sided and I like that they show they can take 2 games win from Gen.G and didn't not go 0-3 this final. I see the improvements, though a tough lost they show they can catch Gen.G off-guard when Gen.G put down their guard for a sec. This one was a fun Final. Gen.G showed their drive, and consistently improving skills but at the end of the day the goal remains to surpass T1 10 LCK win and 4 World Champ, and Gen.G is showing to be the one who will achieve that if T1 don't figure something out soon. This is the best rivalry in League of Legend by far.
you gotta remember that GenG inherited samsung and they are the only organization with multiple worlds wins other than skt/t1. this rivalry has defined the esport.

tbh,the mid matchup of the 5th game was ori favored but chovy just played the matchup so consistent and oner gave chovy red buff which enhance the chances for chovy to take over the lane matchup

Sometimes I feel like pros have it easy. Not because they aren't skilled or that they don't practice etc... but imagine being able to play the game how it's intended with a team with voice comms being able to rely on your mates skill cause you are both the same Elo etc... being able to rely on rotations and lane swapping etc... that's a luxury that most people don't get in solo q. Which is funny. Cause fundamentally you play totally different in a solo q to professional setting. People that excel in team play and using macro, people who main support and don't main mages or Ashe etc.... even junglers it just seems people who actually try play the game as intended get punished and told to play different. That's how I want riot to change ranked. To actually be rewarded for playing your role, for playing your lane properly but actually being able to contribute and not throw if you don't get the lead etc... there is so many factors but the only playstyle that really gets rewarded in this game is to not pay attention to anyone one your team and hard carry or get brough down by the inevitable troll or person who's also failing to try and live by that mindset

Idk, i feel like If t1 had picked Zac instead of Gwen they would have had a way better comp, i didnt like Gwen + xin against a kha zix, Zac would counter kha zix pretty hard and would also be better for the Comp since they had no initiation or a tank to face check, i think they Just wasnt expecting a kha zix there.
