Grant looks really good. He was pranching, running, back & forth on the patio. He acts much happier. So glad to see him coming out of his little doggie shell. Luv him!!!
Miggy is a hoot. He says “A guy can’t even sleep in late around here.” I noticed Mr Grant needed a head scratching. He loves his mama. You have made such a wonderful change in his life. Grooming an unwilling dog is very stressful. I’ve always groomed my dogs, but the newest dog won’t let me touch her to groom. Someone else grooms her for me.

My boy left this world at 17 years old not looking like the beautiful mini he once was.I could not get him groomed any more because of his age.I did what I could .I see your boys and they remind me of him.They are truely special!!

Just like kids. They each have their own personalities. Oscar would "protest" too as he got older. Just their way of letting you know to maybe like leave me alone...buzz off...lol. Those are the best dishes. Gets the food excitement under control.

I would LOVE to know how you keep them so peaceful in the morning as they go out ! Having had several barky schnauzers we are waiting on two puppies next month and truly want to work on training with barking - this is encouraging!
Maybe Mr. Grant went to a groomer? The groomer says the same thing to me that my dog was an angel, so mellow even fell asleep! But if I try to trim his legs or his beard he won't sit still at all lol. It's not easy grooming a dog sometimes and I think schnauzers are more challenging. Lots of credit to you for taking that part on I think they look great! 🐾🐶
Mr Grant did go to a groomer before we got him.

Dogs know they can get away with more shenanigans with mom. My dog squirms like crazy with nail trims but freezes for the vet tech :-/ oh kids

As a groomer myself. I have found that dogs act better for me than they do for their owner some times

Lol this is the second video of yours i've seen and the chaos with max(?) shouting at the ball while miggy(?) demanded it be thrown and everyone else wandered around made me laugh. Schnauzers are not absolute favorite dogs and I feel like I don't see them too often so I was happy to run across your channel when I was starting to search for something else schnauzer related! We had the same problem with our old boy. We did check with the vet and they knew a groomer who specialized in older dogs. They always said he was so good with them. Go figure.
I've been on that road of "impossible grooming" - wishing you all the best and hope the end is full of love, snacks, booze or whatever makes you happy for all of ya ;) lol
You do a great job with Mrs. Great. I love how much you love all you boys. My husband helps me groom our doggie otherwise she nips me. He is so gentle with her. Plus she did better with the groomer. Ours retired. You do a great job and your home is so beautiful. God bless you.

Their is a groomer here in Texas that grooms very difficult dogs.

Yes yes my schnauzer's have been the same. I took them to the groomers and they were angels, but when I tried to do simple grooming they were fussy fussy
Saw Dog Whisperer take his time acclimating dog to equipment first. Not using the equipment but putting it close to him, gently touching the items to his body without using them. Few minutes daily but frequently. Might ease his reaction to the tools first. I can relate to Miggy.. I'm not a morning person either.😖🥴.lol. As always hugs kisses, and ear scratches to the boys. All 7+2.🙂💕👍🐕🎶😻🎵🙋🥰...P.S. keep icing the foot after activity 😁

Athletes need extra sleep = Miggy. I have to put a muzzle on mine and also give 1/2 an anxiety pill when he gets groomed. My groomer is great with him.

Oh, grouchy Miggy. Otherwise lovely to see the boys waking up to do their wee wees and some playing in the morning. Poor Grant, he clearly loves you but so sorry he gets so tensed up at being groomed. Hopefully your vet can suggest a method/technique or an alternate grooming service who especialises in difficult dogs.

We rescued him last summer. Yes his ears are docked. He is 13 years old.
I would try CBD oil for Mr. Grant. It works for my schnauzer. I get it on Amazon!

Hi, I know that you take wonderful care of your boys so please do not take my question the wrong way.
I’m curious about why are your boys not wearing their collars with their tags? Are they taken off at bed time? If they are, what if an emergency happened and need to put their leash on quickly? Just wondering.
No reason really I just haven’t had them on lately. I have leashes and collars all together in a basket. If I had to leave in a hurry I can grab it and get all the boys in my van in the garage. In case of fire all my boys would be put in fenced in backyard.
How about attaching a small tank of laughing gas to the grooming table with two masks...one for hubbie and one for Mr. Grant?😁😁😁

Great video!! I was wondering how often you feed them treats? I may be feeding my 1 1/2 yr old too many perhaps..because he’s lost interest in eating his regular food, which is the BB healthy weight. Any suggestions? Thanks!!
Yeah my boys don’t get many treats throughout the day. They get a dental bone, a couple green beans, and a bedtime treat. That’s it.

Your boys have been groomed by you for their whole lives, ands Grant hasn’t. I think you’ve now conquered the situation with patience and care.

How on earth do you keep a conversation with us or anyone else going or keep your train of thought with all the dogs barking constantly (especially Miggy)? I used to own ONE dog and I could barely focus on what I was doing when he kept barking at something lol!

Yes my Benji finds being groomed by the groomer okish and I struggle. He was hardly groomed in the first 4 years of his life (with his previous owner) now as a vet nurse I sedate him and clip him myself. It’s quicker for him. X
I hope you can find a well-experienced groomer for Mr. Grant. If not, check out the channel "My favorite groomer". She is experienced in grooming challenging dogs that get rejected at other places. There might a technique to learn from her that might work with Mr. Grant and keeps you and your hubby safe. Best wishes.
So I have considered making a suggestion for a while for Mr. Grant but I've hesitated because some might find the controversial.
Grooming sling. My dog is really bad about his nails getting cut, he has had trauma getting them done at the groomer when he was a puppy. Our groomer uses a sling when she cuts his nails and shaves his feet. He does bite but they flips and flails without it. In it? Completely calm. Some people feel grooming slings are bad and that they can actually heighten anxiety. That hasn't been the case for us, and our dogs lpve our groomer. (We are blessed that she lets stay, is small dog only etc etc.) You could make your own grooming sling at home if you have somewhere to hang it, maybe it might change things for you too.

It's perfectly reasonable to have Mr Grant groomed someone else. My Angel Freddy was difficult for me, but after being groomed by a professional groomer for a year, he let me with no problem. Well, except for the toe nails. No amount of cajoling helped with that situation! Lol!😂😂😂

Mr. Grant might do better with a groomer; it's worth a try. He's obviously good with you other than with grooming. Someone in his past must not have treated him good. Or, he may just be overly sensitive to being handled with grooming, or scared. He obviously loves you, other than when you're grooming him.
Merlin is getting so big how's boy's iam getting a dog may 7 it's not a schaunzer it's a wired hair terrier mix she's 8
We used to give our young horses, that were difficult to clip, a mild tranquilizer/sedation from our Vet. It helped them to get better and better with the clipping , was far less traumatic for them.
Might be something you could discuss with your Vet,
