I used to drive standard and the greatest thing about it, was that you couldn’t text or talk. Maybe they should make all cars standard.. I think it would save more lives.
If you do the biggest thing that plagues these cars are clear coat peeling. Also some transmissions can be finicky sometimes but it’s minor. The 09-11 facelift fixed most of this
@@ryantehlionmc thanks!, though I already bought the car lol. I was talking about the intake. I know about the paint & trans problems. Paint's already oxidized in some spots, and the trans in good shape. (on rare occasions it pops out of third)
I like how CAI adds a bit more noise, but are you really benefitting with power gains at all? I own a 2009 Si coupe. Basically bone stock, except for a K&N drop in replacement filter. No other performance mods added to it so far. I love the stock sound of the Si inside the cabin. My dad thinks it awesome. He got to drive it when I bought the car used back in 2018. Reminds him of his 1983 Ford Thunderbird Turbo Coupe he had back in the mid 90s.
The cold air intake is more for sound unless you get a 3.5inch with a tune. You can get ~15-20 hp from a Hybrid Racing CAI with a dyno tune alone. For these car's I love having the intake sound alone because it adds so much character to the engine and makes the VTEC crossover much much louder.
@@ryantehlionmc but it’s the reason why some peoples don’t but the hybrid because you need tune you know bro but if the peoples wan more power is obviously hybrid bro but the both are good intake 💪
Is it normal to sound like this? mine does the exact same sound like tststststs and the whistle im going crazy paranoid with it thought it was the valve I ajust it and same sound? Because I got an rsx with short ram intake and it wasnt making this noise
Yeah that engine tick is normal in most 4 cylinders and the whistle is the air getting sucked into the intake. It’s normal with an aftermarket intake. Also I put my microphone in the engine bay, which is why it seems so loud

Thanks for recording this for all us K&N Civic Si owners.
Good job.
You added HAI (hot air intake) gained heat soak and lost power.
Only thing gained is noise 😂
I've been wanting to buy one, was not sure, and you just sold me on it. Thank you so much!!
Awesome man! They're very fun cars to drive but also practical and fuel efficient. 30+ mpg highway. 8th gen Si's are the way to go.

Skip to 2:10 for the "real pull" & to hear the v-tec crossover.

so thats how the engine sounds i tought it was quiet i changed timing kit lifters ail pump 😂😂😂😂 and sounds the same
Yeah just letting you know I put the microphone in the engine bay for this video so it sounds really loud
@@ryantehlionmc do you have a tune?
@@calvin8243 not when I made this video. I do have a flashpro tuned by Richard at eTunez now.
Does the intake need a tune?
No, it will be fine unless you buy a Hybrid Racing or Skunk2 intake which are 3.5"
Sounds like H
