Unlike WW1, 2 and gulf wars, fighter jets are not a key lever anymore. Globally the 5th generation jets are not matured enough and we are getting heated up by 6th generation jets. India definitely needs to upgrade its fleet with 4.5 and 5 generation jets but the key focus should be on unmanned systems and rocket/missile force.
