You mentioned that theoretically anyone could pick up and wield Stormbreaker and use its power. I would argue that's not accurate, and Thor even says so when he meets the Guardians of the Galaxy. When Thor says he's going to make a Thanos-killing weapon, to which Quill says "Don't you think we should all have a weapon like that?" and Thor replies that their minds would break as they slip into madness if they were to wield it. I think in the movies Stormbreaker is like the Infinity Gauntlet in that you have to be a God or a highly advanced mind beyond an average person or mortal in order to use and understand its full power. The dwarf said it's the weapon of a king, like its the kind of weapon for Odin. I think only the person wielding the Odinforce could use it to summon the Bifrost since Odin is dead in the MCU and in the comics, Thor gets his power and it becomes the Thorforce.

You missed one thing. Thor nearly died as a consequence of reigniting the star.. The Dwarf King said he needed Stormbreaker to save him so I'm thinking that Thor's life and the Axe's are intertwined meaning, no one else can possess the weapon.

Mjolnir’s enchantment was more practical to use often as well as keep it fairly protected from getting into the wrong hands. Speaking of, I wish we knew more about the AllFather. I hope they make an Odin movie.
The structure on Asgard was a focusing point that boosted the power of the Bifrost when used in conjunction with a Dwarven-made weapon with the power to summon the Bifrost, e.g. Stormbreaker and Hofund ( Heimdalls' sword ). You see this when Heimdall transports Bruce to Earth after gripping his sword in Infinity War
It’s because mjolnir was enchanted so you had to be worthy to wield it, this happened in the first Thor. In infinity war, storm breaker received no such enchantment. But Thor also said earlier in the movie before they got to nidavellir, that their bodies would collapse due to lacking the strength to and they would go mad. So not just any old person can wield it I assume.
In the first Thor movie it is made clear that Odin placed a 'worthiness' spell on Mjolnir... since he was dead when storm breaker was forged... no such requirement exists for the new weapon!

Groot lifted the mighty stormbreaker because it was not enchanted but when it cooled down the enchantment and connection with thor started making him the only person to weild it.
I'm pretty sure thor also said that most weapons built in nidavellir require someone powerful to begin with. He told the gaurdians that their bodies would crumble and minds descend into darkness. So anybody cant just pick Stormbreaker up and use the bifrost.

Odin has allfathersforce, Odin now dead, Hella also dead, Thor is now air to the throne and therefore the allfathersforce. he doesnt shape it through his father, through his hammer, to get lightning powers, he now is the power itself but cant control it very well. now thor gets weapon to do whatever odin already could because he has his power and shapes it into his own (lightning, the byfrost etc.)

In my opinion, StormBreaker is made of a similar material to Thor's previous weapon, but is stronger and is so powerful only in the hands of God of Thunder. So the thunder power of Thor gives the ultimate power to the ax, and if anyone try to lift the AX it will not have the power without thunder that Thor has.

What if his blood and sweat (his DNA) fused with Stormbreaker? All that energy passed through him before heating the forge. This would remove the need for worthiness and make it his own weapon, the reason groot may have been able to pick it up was because it was incomplete before he added his own DNA to it (handle)... Missed the big point it's a kings weapon to replace Odin's spear (used to channel the Odinforce) which is why it's so powerful. The mold was ready and waiting for when Thor took the throne.

The structure on Asgard was a focusing point that boosted the power of the Bifrost when used in conjunction with a Dwarven-made weapon with the power to summon the Bifrost, e.g. Stormbreaker and Hofund ( Heimdalls' sword ). You see this when Heimdall transports Bruce to Earth after gripping his sword in Infinity War
Thor said you need the strength and will to wield a weapon made for asgardians if not you would crumble and go crazy
It’s because mjolnir was enchanted so you had to be worthy to wield it, this happened in the first Thor. In infinity war, storm breaker received no such enchantment. But Thor also said earlier in the movie before they got to nidavellir, that their bodies would collapse due to lacking the strength to and they would go mad. So not just any old person can wield it I assume.
Eitri said its a king's weapon ,meant to be the greatest in Asgard, so I think only King of Asgard can lift it.
In the first Thor movie it is made clear that Odin placed a 'worthiness' spell on Mjolnir... since he was dead when storm breaker was forged... no such requirement exists for the new weapon!

In my opinion, StormBreaker is made of a similar material to Thor's previous weapon, but is stronger and is so powerful only in the hands of God of Thunder. So the thunder power of Thor gives the ultimate power to the ax, and if anyone try to lift the AX it will not have the power without thunder that Thor has.

What if his blood and sweat (his DNA) fused with Stormbreaker? All that energy passed through him before heating the forge. This would remove the need for worthiness and make it his own weapon, the reason groot may have been able to pick it up was because it was incomplete before he added his own DNA to it (handle)...
