I like to use a small peice of cordage (ZingIt or the like), loop it through the sandal straps and secure the loop of cordage with the top strap. That way you can tuck the opposite end of the sandals in the stretchy mesh pocket. That way the sandals aren't sticking out the side and they are not dangling around or bouncing. How are you liking the Arc Haul Ultra now that you have some more hikes with it? I'm busy playing "Goldilocks" with so many packs, in preparation for my thru-attempt next year!! lol But the new Arc Haul Ultra is definitely on the list. I had their older Arc Haul and loved it, but accidentally picked up a few pounds. 🤣
I am loving it! It was so good for me on the JMT and I am extremely happy with it! I couldn't ask for anything different in a pack personally! They have some on sale right now too if you're ready to pull the trigger!! zpacks.com/collections/bargain-bin?aff=199
It’s a great pack! They are an add on, if you scroll down on the pack it should arc haul add ons! Or here is the link! zpacks.com/products/belt-pouch?aff=199
Thanks for doing this video. I have the same pack except in 70L. Personally I find it a struggle to get everything in because I like having the ability to carry 6L or water for long water carries. I’ll experiment with some of the ways you did it here. Looks like we got all the same accessories for our packs too. I’d be curious to hear how your pack has been working out for you.
Depending on sleeping pad you could fold up your sleeping pad and insert it on the back of your pack! That saves some space! For long water carries I strap a water bladder like this under the top strap almost like you would a bear canister!
@@messagesfromthemountain Neat - I’ve never seen these before. I’ve been using Platypuses, but they wouldn’t fit outside as nicely as something like what you just showed me.
I just finished the JMT in it and wanted to wait til I finished to give my thoughts. IT was great, everything I could have asked for in a pack and especially with the way I have the pockets set up. My heaviest weight in it was around 42 pounds and it carried really well. I don't have one bad thing to say about it. It has been a huge game changer for me! They have some in their overstock sale right now too! zpacks.com/collections/bargain-bin?aff=199
Still fairly new but I am taking it out for 60 miles next week so will keep you updated! But have done 2, 30 ish mile trips with it and have had nothing but a great experience so far!
I have been messing with my ZPacks set up and really need to do something different with hydration. I like the idea with the Smartwater bottles and the tube. My Lifestraw bottle just broke and I am going to explore some new options. Thanks for a great video!
They'll just have to issue me a citation if I ever come across a trail that requires wag bags. I refuse to tote my own turds. What? Animals can poop on the land but I can't? They aren't above me
on Mount Whitney and in parts of the desert as examples, it is impossible to dig a hole as you are hiking on solid rock. We have to use them in order for some places not to become wastelands and protect water sources.
@@BucolicAholic I wouldn’t recommend it. Poop particles could get all over the surroundings and I wouldn’t wanna sit around that fire 🤣 I would also think it would be hard to burn because it’s mostly water 🤷🏻♀️

Great video. That spork cover is just what I’ve been needing. Thanks for sharing
Hey thanks! I know right?? I didn’t know such a thing existed but I’m obsessed!
Love the video. Thanks.
Thanks for watching!
Hey there. Great video as I’ve been eyeballing this pack but online it doesn’t have hp belt pockets. How does yours have them?

Any update on the arc haul. Thinking about getting one.

@@messagesfromthemountain I didn't know it was impossible, I stand corrected that sounds like a totally legitimate reason. Can you burn poo?
