These conversations are like a broken record at this point, freaking PGAT should stop being so salty, move on, improve your product, stop taking shots at LIV ... NO ONE CARES.
I do care... now since i'm a nobody it doesnt matter but still. There's too much money in golf, the players earn too much, the manufacturers earn too much. I want to see guys play because they love the game. not because they love money. Even if it means the best players quit. Go back to steel shafts and smaller club heads with less trampoline effect, old balls that don't fly as far and easier to work left and right.
The timing is really telling. Rahm wins his first Liv tournament then follows that up with losing a play off to Brooks then this BS comes out. Talk about being salty! Rahm aint going nowhere and LIV aint going anywhere anytime soon either!
Perspectives like the ones we're hearing from these talking heads are quite narrowly focused and always seem to center around the players being selfish or self-centered. Well, being self-centered is actually a very healthy thing. Focusing on your and your family's best interests is more complex than just making tons of money. In general, I'm not a fan of LIV in its current format, especially with the music blasting in the background. However, I think it's great for the players to not have to play as many tournaments a year and to have the three-day event. That means more time spent with their families at home where they can actually enjoy all that extra money they're bringing in.
Shameful…Arnie and Jack broke from the PGA to form the PGA tour for purely self interested reasons. Jaime is an embarrassment to claim anything is different with these current players and taking the money.
Oh shut up!! People switch jobs everyday when they get a better offer. Jon Rahm has earned the right to play literally any tournament he chooses to including PGA tournaments.
“Their own selfish interest”.. shut up. Big business has always been selfish and they aren’t even the reason for success. It’s the product and the consumers. Players deserve to get the money over all these ceos and high ups that get private jet access and live beyond their means for no reason aside from greed. @@oahujuniorgolfassociationc6656 why would they it’s easy money. The players are the ones grinding to keep the “big business” afloat. Business people need to get over themselves thinking that they are the ones putting in the real work.
Rahm just dueled against the best major player of his generation last weekend. PGA tour needs to get this deal done ASAP, LIV has big names at the top and it's obviously competitive.
Rham can stay where he's at. He's killing it there. I like the fact that players that want $200M, $600M or whatever, get what they want. They don't want to play Bayhill or the LA Open for peanuts; PGA Tour guys want to do this. PGA Tour guys want to play with a cut, etc...and they like to compete. But offer them $600M, and almost all of them will jump ship. So, just win like 2 Majors, and LIV will call you maybe. Like schauffele, go to LIV and make a killing, or stay on the PGA Tour and 'survive' on $40M a year with sponsors etc..
No one played golf for the money in the 60s and 70s because there was no money. Tiger changed the landscape of golf when he became one of the richest athletes in the world. Guys realized they could make generational changing money of they play their cards right. Saying the decision to take the money is wrong is so shallow. What if you came from a family that always struggled paying the bills. You are playing golf and earning a good living. Then someone walks up to you and says I will make it so your grandchildren won't have to worry about money. The decision to take the money suddenly becomes understandable.

Yeah right, i would be so upset with 200 million dollars. Are you people crazy. One needs to quit writing golf articles and the other needs to go back to Ireland. Tired of listening to them.
I have no interest in the PGA, only LIV and the Majors. I get enough enjoyment from YT stars like GoodGood, Bryson Dechambeau, Erik Anders Lang and Luke Kwan. Plenty of fun and amazing travel golf.
Great points being made by Jaime.... really interesting but expected. I would put Tiger and Nicklaus as two players that regardless of money they just wanted to win. No matter which win it was, the driving force was to finish number one, as Steve Williams said of Tiger and the greats. Seve Ballesteros was another beast like that according to his late caddie who said he just wanted to beat you no matter what.
@user-ok3yt6yu4u Players had no rights back then, making no money and you can't compare Arnold Palmer and Nicklaus to the Pif that doesn't care about destroying the pga and stealing players that make millions upon millions of dollars to white wash human rights at the expense of the game! The pga is not perfect, nobody is, but the pga has worked tirelessly with wounded war veterans, donated billions to charity etc and has a reputation that LIV would never have on its own, can only dream off. You should get more informed and stop repeating dumb comments that LIV enthusiasts say without knowing too much about the game. If players want to play on liv,,,go. LIV may be for some players but I prefer competition and new YOUNG players coming up through the pga thirsty to win while the liv players get older. Guaranteed $ is not good like Tiger has said many times.
It remains to be seen how this will work out. If the Saudi owners agree to the tentative agreement with the PGA, both tours could co-exist (under common ownership).
Make the pga more desirable if you want to keep the players. Getting the opportunity to make more money doing the same thing is a no brainer. The players are what the PGA not the other way around if they are a world class player they are a world class player and owe any tour anything. And to let a LIV player play alson on the PGA too only seems like a win win. Would you make a crop article like this and only get paid if everyone liked it? The whole missing a cut and getting nothing is ridiculous considering all the time and costs involved with competing at a professional level. Not everyone deserves a million bucks just to show up but to work for free is also BS. I think both tours could learn from each other but it seems like LIV takes way better care of players.
11:31 Sad Jaime's forced to write stuff that's patently false(publicly). Making an assumption and passing it off as a quote.....isnt journalism its Gonzo at best.

Yeah, he’s off base here when he talks about the quality of live players all former PGA tour players I might add they are man for man pound for pound as good as any top 10 players in the world. The only thing holding them back is the format they play in? Makes them soft.
They are all in it for the money, and the competition etc...that's a real exciting part for most players. Some went to LIV because the money was ridiculous, and no way was Kevin Nah, for example, going to make that kind of money on the PGA Tour. Others, like Rham, went for his $600M--who can blame him? Others stay; Scheffler for example, because sponsors and the competition matters more to him. I think PGA Tour players will stay sharper; the outcomes so far have proved this. Only a couple of the LIV players are really threatening in Majors. LIV is losing hundreds of millions of dollars, and it is not a 'business' that makes financial sense. They don't appear to care, as they have billions to play with. I'm a PGA Tour guy all the way....and I only care about the competitive part of golf....they're all crazy rich, some crazier than others.
12% of the field in average in majors are LIV players. In the 2 full seasons that LIV has been operational, there have been 8 majors, 2 of which were won by LIV players.
