8:38: I used to live North Central Jersey. I lived in Mendham. Mendham is no match to these worst places. Mendham has to be one of the best towns in Jersey.
I think the best place for you to move to in New Jersey would be North Camden preferably on the Northern side of State Street. Don't worry you'll be just fine leave your windows open at night and a nice breeze will blow through while you're sleeping 😁
Not sure if you’ve been to Trenton recently but it’s really changing...not gentrified by any means but not as much the sh*those I remembered as a kid. I’d also argue that Camden should’ve been 1 on the list, Newark is actually seeing some improvement since the Prudential Center went up.

While Newark and Irvington are horror shows and traffic to the shore is a nightmare, as a New Yorker that is world traveled I can say no beach community is as charming as the Jersey shore anywhere in the country! We are still willing to drive for hours to get there and try to find parking which can take hours also. I have been to Maui many times and Oahu and Florida and California many many times and our last vacation was Cape Cod , and I live MUCH MUCH closer to Long Island beaches NJ beaches are the best in many ways. Towns like Cape May, Spring Lake, Long Beach Island, Ocean Grove and the most beautiful beach on the east coast IMO is island beach state park where you can see wild foxes and bald eagles. The people are friendly and it is safer than NY and the food is better. Cape Cod also has good food and Hawaii has good food and parts of California and Florida. But there is nothing like the Jersey shore. Also the NJ state botanical garden is prettier and cheaper than the NY botanical garden!

@@cmichole You didn't mention your budget or the kind of neighborhood you were looking for. Urban, rural or suburban? Buy or rent? Teaneck, Hackensack, Bergenfield. Sections of Englewood are pretty nice, as are Tenafly, Fort Lee and Cliffside Park. New Jersey is a patchwork of townships, boroughs and cities. You might live in one that's solidly Blue, but the neighboring one will be Red. However, for the most part, we have decent public schools and libraries where you're free to read what you want, since no books are banned anywhere. Women have reproductive freedom of choice and we're a sanctuary state for immigration. There's plenty of community culture. And our Governor, Phil Murphy, got us through the Pandemic with information based on science and the latest medical research. I live in Bergen County, so the towns recommended reflect my viewpoint.

Other decent towns within an hour are Woodbridge, Edison, Sayerville, Spotswood. Perth Amboy is “urban” a ton of spanish community and honestly? My family has been in newark for the last 65 years both of my brothers are police officers I work in the engineering dept for the last 41 years. we're all high school graduates and our children all have college degrees. none of us been arrested or taken drugs and we have no one in our family who seen a jail cell.

I sir am back in Newark and drove for a large supermarket chain which had stores in Vineland and surrounding areas and where on my run, always enjoyed running from Vineland over to Rio Grande at 1 in the morning, so nice an quiet 🤫 that time of day ! I've always thought it was a sin that when you fly into Newark Airport, all you see is the crappy part of NJ - the shipyards, etc. However, head out west on Route 78 and NJ becomes quite beautiful. You'd be amazed at the woods and rivers and hills

I was born and raised in Camden, NJ. Back in the 50's and 60's Camden was a very nice blue collar city. It was a very nice place to live. I went into the Navy in the early 70's that was just about the time Camden started deteriorating. Its sad to see so many of our cities succumb to the evil of drugs. Drugs are probably the #1 reason most cities like Camden have become slums.

I lived in NJ from 62 to 66 (19, that is). I loved it there. I think alot of the prob. with this whole country is we gave our industries away to foreign countries because the business owners did not want to pay a living wage and were wanting to belch their toxins elsewhere where the EPA had no say. I could make a list of what was and is now gone but that fairly large list would only cover the areas I know best. I have also seen it in other areas too. The cost of being here is too high. If they don't need to be here or are struggling at all, they cut costs and move or close. Like much of the urban/suburban areas of the country it is services and not goods that are the 'industry' now. NJ use to make cars, textiles, machinery and more also had tremendous warehousing.... not so much now.

Born and raised in Montclair relocated to Cape May Court House. Though New Jersey has some rough spots it is still a beautiful state. To characterize the state as a garbage state is unfortunate.
Fact: There used to be an East Paterson and a West Paterson. But to disassociate themselves from Paterson, they were renamed Elmwood Park and Woodland Park, respectively.
Honestly I never knew that. People always tell me that there from west Paterson. I always responded with where is that ? Now I know it's woodland park and Elmwood park is east Paterson.
New Jersey has some of the nicest towns in the US. Not all bad. Lovely countryside, forests, lakes, horse farms, blueberry and tomato farms, corn, etc. It's a great state to grow up in. Just stay away from the bad areas in the larger cities - just like any other state.

The smaller towns are starting to get overrun with trash moving out of the cities. They get on the town councils, school boards, and other small positions and then continue to put policies in place that ruin the area. Then they move on to the next town, like a plague.

I'm surprised to see that Trenton wasn't mentioned. Every time my family commutes to Philadelphia from New York, we always see how vacant the city really is. It's horrible. We drive in the US 1 route and we go from nice places, specifically Edison, North Brunswick, and Princeton, to end up here before we enter Pennsylvania.
Before the video started I had 4 places in mind....Newark, Camden, Trenton, and Atlantic City....I'm very surprised Trenton didn't make the list...I have family in vineland....and while it does have some rough areas, it is very flat and large...there are pockets of nice spots....Trenton on the other hand is all City...tall buildings, row homes, and dirty. I used to deliver there and had a few homies that lived there...needless to say, it's a nightmare...I felt safe delivering for the most part...but would never EVER want to live there.
Living in New Jersey isn’t horrible if you’re young and have a decent job. Being between nyc and philly, there’s alot to do. As you get older that same stuff starts to irritate you about NJ. Like all of a sudden you realize how crowded it is. Most middle aged people stay cuz the schools are good and they’ve planted roots. But, like others, once i can retire i’m out.
Moved out of NJ and I do miss it, a lot of the same issues are the same where everywhere, plus newer/different issues. Where I live I there is a list of people who are trying to leave.
I left when I was 23, almost 30 years ago. I did not want to wait until I retired. When I left, I lived in Hunterdon County and was renting. Even back in 91, it was almost impossible to buy a house for less than 200,000 in Hunterdon County when I was looking back then. I considered Warren County and eastern PA near I-78, but my commute to Union County would have been a nightmare. So I drove 1100 miles west on I-80 and liked Omaha and bought an identical house that was common in Hunterdon County for much less and lower property taxes. My income was about the same too back then. It sucked for the first year because I missed being close to everything, but eventually I got used to it and made it for 17 years. After that, I chose to move to the southwestern USA for a much warmer climate. There are excellent parts of NJ, but they are pricey.
I agree we haven't visited the Jersey shores since high school. The traffic,crowds & parking very costly. All inclusive vacation to Dominican Republic or Mexico better deal & the water's clear.
The biggest problem for Lindenwold and surroundings communities is that, in the 70s when the train between Lindenwold and Philadelphia, is that developers sold crooked politicians on the idea that Lindenwold could be a "bedroom community" and Philly office workers were going to snap up apartments and condos and Lindenwold could be a gold mine. Instead it's become a mold mine.

To finish my reply, there are great places to camp in the pine barrens the Great Swamp also is a good place to hike. While the state is densely populated ,there are beautiful open spaces.
I'm from south jersey born and raised. Moved to Charlotte NC after I got out of the army and I miss Jersey to this day but so thankful I live in Charlotte. It makes zero sense, it's a jersey thing.
I was born and raised in Plainfield NJ and now live in Florence SC. My fiancé was born and raised in Newark and now lives in Charleston SC. I do miss the diversity and the closeness of NYC. I also live Charlotte NC too
As a New Jerseyian most of this is pretty accurate. However once you’re away from the Philly and NYC areas there’s a lot of beautiful towns, farms, modern cities, beaches, mountains, clean suburbs and have some of the most expensive cities in the country as well. It is also overpriced, the tolls are insane, the traffic sucks. But we love it.

Glad Camden made it to the list. It’s actually not THAT horrible when it comes to violence (outside of school), there aren’t really anymore gun fights or too much robbing anymore since Covid happened, but it is still very dirty and not fun at all. I grew up here and I’m still living here unfortunately, that will definitely change once I’m an adult.

You should see have North Newark looks nowadays. You would be surprised. There are young white couples with Trump Flags in front of their homes in the North Newark area. This guy didn't do his research. North Newark is changing and I'm unsure of his changing for the better. There is a very large Whole Food in fact it's the largest Whole Food in the United States. Whole food does demographics according to income South Newark New Jersey isn't that poor.

I was born in Camden and thankfully moved when I was 4. It looks like a war zone now. I grew up in Vineland which is only bad in areas but even the worst areas aren't like Camden.
I used to do accounting work for a few farms in the Vineland area, and, you're right, Vineland has lots of decent areas. They just get a bad rap from being in NJ.
@@doneladams2596 - you can get knifed in Camden in broad daylight, just going to the corner store. Camden used to have Campbell Soup, lots of good manufacturing jobs, and even the early RCA records were all cut in Camden in the 1920-40's. RCA had a big recording studio there. Now, it's trouble on every corner.
Not sure how Vineland got on here at all I graduated from Camden and moved to Atlantic city and worked in Trenton. Vineland is not even an honorable mention compared to other places that didn't get named this list is not a good representation of the worst places
Just to correct you, we NJ residents do say please and thank you, and we aren't all rude. I saw Don Henley in concert years ago, and he went out of his way to say how beautiful our part of northwest NJ was, very different from the Newark Airport area, which was the only place in the state he had ever seen. He also said we had the best tomatoes.

I just moved to NJ 4 months ago, coming from Cali, born and raised in cali. Military reasons are why we moved and I hated it here at first, and now I adore it here. It's beautiful seasons have given me something to look forward to and so many hidden beauty stops in the lakewood toms river area.

I lived in Lakewood for 5 yrs. Tom's River was a place where I always took my son weekly to enjoy the beach. Lived most of my life in Jersey. Moved to Florida 10 yrs ago in July 2013 and I miss it but will never move back. Enjoy the Garden State
This was quite interesting. As a NJ resident I live in one of the safe and more affluent areas of northern NJ, Bergen County. We are not far from Newark, Paterson and Passaic are fairly close too but these worlds are night and day. A colleague of mine grew up in Paterson and can attest that is was a safe place to live and work during that time. The northern part of NJ is a real mix of desirable towns and places to stay out of.
I moved from little ferry (bergen county) because It was so bored... I live in Paterson (passaic county) and everything is here ..motor vehicle, embassies, wonderful exotic restaurants, shops, colleges, nice schools, best hospitals, I love it!💗 ...I am a female architect working in NY and I feel safe here.
Sorry Nick, it's the Garden State. If you knew anything about history, you'd know why. Start by looking up Seabrook Farms. I'm an hour from the shore, an hour from the nationally designated wild and senic Delaware river, and an hour from Times Square. But keep trash talking my home state. Visitors spent $49.1 billion in NJ in 2023. We don't need any more tourists.
I was born and raised in Passaic NJ. It wasn't always bad and definitely was always on the poor spectrum. As a kid speaking for myself. I always thought of Monroe st, Market Street, 3rd & 4th st as little Puerto Rico. Sadly as I got older, the town got completely out of hand with drugs, prostitution, homelessness & gang culture. I left in late 2013 and moved to Missouri. I visited last year 2021 and everything was different when I came back to visit. Almost unrecognizable as all businesses either moved, changed, or simply doesn't exist anymore.
I lived in 3rd and 4th street when I was little and it’s sad how much worse the downtown areas have gotten since then, theres giant rats running around there now.
Yeah the urban areas generally suck, but you could say that about any of the cities in this region of the country. Believe it or not there are plenty of nice places to live here, and most of the people are good neighbors.

I've lived in NJ for 49 years. The towns you mentioned are crap but New Jersey peeps are some of the best. Definitely one of the most diverse states, from oceans to mountains in only a few hours of driving... I wouldn't trade it, but def wouldn't retire here! Overall NJ is a beautiful, fun, and wealthy state.

As a man that lives in south Jersey I can say that Most of Cumberland county meaning the county of Bridgeton and Vineland is a real toilet. And as for Atlantic City we’ll gamble and get out. Its a shame it used to be a nice place to visit.
We used to visit AC a lot. But times changed and we used to warn people who came for the casinos and wanted to take a walk around town that once you leave the boardwalk AC is a dangerous hellhole.

I grew up in Irvington and it was really a great place to grow up. It really started to change in the 1960s. I wouldn’t trade my growing up years there for anything! All gone now.
Same with Patterson. My grandmother grew up there in the 1910s-1920s, and people used to honeymoon at the falls. Lots of colonial history there, and now it's a pit

I've lived in NJ my whole life and you could easily add another 15-20 additional places to this list. NJ has the highest property taxes in country so all the nice places people keep mentioning they are nice but they are paying a arm and a leg to live in those areas.
I live in Edison and Scotch plains NJ and it’s wonderful here, I love my garden State. I could list all the wonderful cities but it will take too long.

The one thing I hate about Virginia every year I get a car tax. And I live in the boonies I live in Gladys Virginia and 45-minute ride to Lynchburg Virginia. I live in SNJ and you really do it a disservice. Yes, there are poor and dangerous places, it’s corrupt and expensive, but it’s not as bad as you portray it. Most of your subject towns are not as bad as you portray them. NJ has many beautiful places and lots of things to do including outdoor activities. Of course you focus on people wanting to hear the bad over the good. I for one don’t like or watch your videos. I’ve seen a few and they’re one-sided to say the least. Maybe change it up and show the other side once in a while.
I left New Jersey over 30 years ago. I don't know what it's like now, but Bernards Township, where I lived was a great place to live. Safest place Iv'e lived, great schools and very clean.
West New York, NJ is a Great Place To Live! I lived there for 32 years. It’s one of the most vibrant cities in the country. Great Pizza, Bagels, and Empanadas . It’s a True Pleasure to travel down Bergenline Avenue and experience 15 different North American, South American and Caribbean Cultures on One Street.
I've live in New Jersey. Yes, we get frustrated with it, but we still love it. There is so much here and much love. We my live on top if one another and may appear we are rude, but when something happens, we all help one another. Also, with taxes, we help prop up the rest of the US. Some reason people like to bad mouth us, but like our money.
Every state has bad towns so I don't know what the point is in picking on New Jersey. I'm originally from New York City and when I moved to Jersey I felt like my life improved 300%. Half of New Jersey is ex New Yorkers so you need to do better homework
I'm a jersey native and have lived all over the state. Basically, there's Newark, Trenton, and Camden. Those are the "big 3" you avoid if you can. There's other poor areas but nowhere else is really too dangerous. There's spotty areas around Newark that are dangerous but that's not really true with Camden. Once you're out, you're safe. Same with Trenton.
Born and raised in N.J....grew up next to Camden. The town used to be amazing but deteriorated quickly over the years....like many other cities in the state. All states have bad areas that once used to be beautiful though. This man is correct though. These towns are not safe. It's information that outsiders can appreciate when looking into moving to N.J. That being said...there are also so many gorgeous towns in N.J. and many wonderful places to visit! I love it here.

I've been living in south jersey for 5 years. Love it! There are good towns, regular towns and bad towns like everywhere across this great country. Thankfully I live in a good one. Top of the line in terms of safety, schools systems, and so on.

I think the best place for you to move to in New Jersey would be North Camden preferably on the Northern side of State Street. Don't worry you'll be just fine leave your windows open at night and a nice breeze will blow through while you're sleeping 😁

While Newark and Irvington are horror shows and traffic to the shore is a nightmare, as a New Yorker that is world traveled I can say no beach community is as charming as the Jersey shore anywhere in the country! We are still willing to drive for hours to get there and try to find parking which can take hours also. I have been to Maui many times and Oahu and Florida and California many many times and our last vacation was Cape Cod , and I live MUCH MUCH closer to Long Island beaches NJ beaches are the best in many ways. Towns like Cape May, Spring Lake, Long Beach Island, Ocean Grove and the most beautiful beach on the east coast IMO is island beach state park where you can see wild foxes and bald eagles. The people are friendly and it is safer than NY and the food is better. Cape Cod also has good food and Hawaii has good food and parts of California and Florida. But there is nothing like the Jersey shore. Also the NJ state botanical garden is prettier and cheaper than the NY botanical garden!

Sections of Englewood are pretty nice, as are Tenafly, Fort Lee and Cliffside Park. New Jersey is a patchwork of townships, boroughs and cities. You might live in one that's solidly Blue, but the neighboring one will be Red. However, for the most part, we have decent public schools and libraries where you're free to read what you want, since no books are banned anywhere. Women have reproductive freedom of choice and we're a sanctuary state for immigration. There's plenty of community culture. And our Governor, Phil Murphy, got us through the Pandemic with information based on science and the latest medical research. I live in Bergen County, so the towns recommended reflect my viewpoint.

My family has been in newark for the last 65 years both of my brothers are police officers I work in the engineering dept for the last 41 years. we're all high school graduates and our children all have college degrees. none of us been arrested or taken drugs and we have no one in our family who seen a jail cell.

I sir am back in Newark and drove for a large supermarket chain which had stores in Vineland and surrounding areas and where on my run, always enjoyed running from Vineland over to Rio Grande at 1 in the morning, so nice an quiet 🤫 that time of day ! Oh and living in north Newark and born to Italian parents, so use to the accent (lol) !!

I've always thought it was a sin that when you fly into Newark Airport, all you see is the crappy part of NJ - the shipyards, etc. However, head out west on Route 78 and NJ becomes quite beautiful. You'd be amazed at the woods and rivers and hills

I was born and raised in Camden, NJ. Back in the 50's and 60's Camden was a very nice blue collar city. It was a very nice place to live. I went into the Navy in the early 70's that was just about the time Camden started deteriorating. Its sad to see so many of our cities succumb to the evil of drugs. Drugs are probably the #1 reason most cities like Camden have become slums.

I think alot of the prob. with this whole country is we gave our industries away to foreign countries because the business owners did not want to pay a living wage and were wanting to belch their toxins elsewhere where the EPA had no say. I could make a list of what was and is now gone but that fairly large list would only cover the areas I know best. I have also seen it in other areas too. The cost of being here is too high. If they don't need to be here or are struggling at all, they cut costs and move or close. Like much of the urban/suburban areas of the country it is services and not goods that are the 'industry' now. NJ use to make cars, textiles, machinery and more also had tremendous warehousing.... not so much now.

New Jersey has some of the nicest towns in the US. Not all bad. Lovely countryside, forests, lakes, horse farms, blueberry and tomato farms, corn, etc. It's a great state to grow up in. Just stay away from the bad areas in the larger cities - just like any other state.

I'm surprised to see that Trenton wasn't mentioned. Every time my family commutes to Philadelphia from New York, we always see how vacant the city really is. It's horrible. We drive in the US 1 route and we go from nice places, specifically Edison, North Brunswick, and Princeton, to end up here before we enter Pennsylvania.
Before the video started I had 4 places in mind....Newark, Camden, Trenton, and Atlantic City....I'm very surprised Trenton didn't make the list...I have family in vineland....and while it does have some rough areas, it is very flat and large...there are pockets of nice spots....Trenton on the other hand is all City...tall buildings, row homes, and dirty. I used to deliver there and had a few homies that lived there...needless to say, it's a nightmare...I felt safe delivering for the most part...but would never EVER want to live there.
They should’ve taken out West New York and put in Trenton. I wouldn’t include WNY on this list.

Living in New Jersey isn’t horrible if you’re young and have a decent job. Being between nyc and philly, there’s alot to do. As you get older that same stuff starts to irritate you about NJ. Like all of a sudden you realize how crowded it is. Most middle aged people stay cuz the schools are good and they’ve planted roots. But, like others, once i can retire i’m out.
Moved out of NJ and I do miss it, a lot of the same issues are the same where everywhere, plus newer/different issues. Where I live I there is a list of people who are trying to leave.
Please move to Florida instead of Delaware when you retire.
I left when I was 23, almost 30 years ago. I did not want to wait until I retired. When I left, I lived in Hunterdon County and was renting. Even back in 91, it was almost impossible to buy a house for less than 200,000 in Hunterdon County when I was looking back then. I considered Warren County and eastern PA near I-78, but my commute to Union County would have been a nightmare. So I drove 1100 miles west on I-80 and liked Omaha and bought an identical house that was common in Hunterdon County for much less and lower property taxes. My income was about the same too back then. It sucked for the first year because I missed being close to everything, but eventually I got used to it and made it for 17 years. After that, I chose to move to the southwestern USA for a much warmer climate.
There are excellent parts of NJ, but they are pricey.
You can say the same about NY if you make 6 figures its a great place to live. Otherwise you are struggling.
I agree we haven't visited the Jersey shores since high school. The traffic,crowds & parking very costly. All inclusive vacation to Dominican Republic or Mexico better deal & the water's clear.

The biggest problem for Lindenwold and surroundings communities is that, in the 70s when the train between Lindenwold and Philadelphia, is that developers sold crooked politicians on the idea that Lindenwold could be a "bedroom community" and Philly office workers were going to snap up apartments and condos and Lindenwold could be a gold mine. Instead it's become a mold mine.
As a New Jersian, I can confirm we do not sit in traffic and “love it” 😭 also Newark is not as bad as the media portrays imo. Description for Passaic was spot on though tbh 😂 😂
The northwestern part of the state has rolling hills and nice parks. The pine barrens in the southern part of the state
To finish my reply, there are great places to camp in the pine barrens the Great Swamp also is a good place to hike. While the state is densely populated ,there are beautiful open spaces.

As a New Jerseyian most of this is pretty accurate. However once you’re away from the Philly and NYC areas there’s a lot of beautiful towns, farms, modern cities, beaches, mountains, clean suburbs and have some of the most expensive cities in the country as well.
It is also overpriced, the tolls are insane, the traffic sucks.

I don't know many people who love to live here me included. Of course there are nice places in New Jersey Hammonton is beautiful. But there are so many bad places surrounding all those nice places and the main thing is the taxes the government who runs everything the laws that they bestow upon us. Glad Camden made it to the list. It’s actually not THAT horrible when it comes to violence (outside of school), there aren’t really anymore gun fights or too much robbing anymore since Covid happened, but it is still very dirty and not fun at all. I grew up here and I’m still living here unfortunately, that will definitely change once I’m an adult.

I was born and raised in Newark. Just before my family moved to NorthCarolina, we lived in Hillside for a few years. Nothing in your video surprised me, but I still claim Newark when asked where I’m from.
You should see have North Newark looks nowadays. You would be surprised. There are young white couples with Trump Flags in front of their homes in the North Newark area. This guy didn't do his research. North Newark is changing and I'm unsure of his changing for the better. There is a very large Whole Food in fact it's the largest Whole Food in the United States. Whole food does demographics according to income South Newark New Jersey isn't that poor.

I’m from the old Brooklyn but reside in Newark, I must say it’s up and coming. A lot of different options for food & drinks. Just in every State or town around the world, you should always remain aware of your surroundings of course Street smarts 101‼️
Camden is awful, but the rest of New Jersey isn't that bad. There is some nice parts. It gets a bad rap, but it's a hell of lot better than Kentucky.

Camden is actually doing alot better when they reformed their police. Still sucks but not as sucky
I was born in Camden and thankfully moved when I was 4. It looks like a war zone now. I grew up in Vineland which is only bad in areas but even the worst areas aren't like Camden.
I used to do accounting work for a few farms in the Vineland area, and, you're right, Vineland has lots of decent areas. They just get a bad rap from being in NJ.
I had a cousin that lived in Camden visited her a few times years ago and it was pretty tired to say the least

Camden used to have Campbell Soup, lots of good manufacturing jobs, and even the early RCA records were all cut in Camden in the 1920-40's. RCA had a big recording studio there. Now, it's trouble on every corner.
Camden is Basically another KENSINGTON and Ironically Philly is right across from it.
Not sure how Vineland got on here at all I graduated from Camden and moved to Atlantic city and worked in Trenton. Vineland is not even an honorable mention compared to other places that didn't get named this list is not a good representation of the worst places
Just to correct you, we NJ residents do say please and thank you, and we aren't all rude. I saw Don Henley in concert years ago, and he went out of his way to say how beautiful our part of northwest NJ was, very different from the Newark Airport area, which was the only place in the state he had ever seen. He also said we had the best tomatoes.

I just moved to NJ 4 months ago, coming from Cali, born and raised in cali. Military reasons are why we moved and I hated it here at first, and now I adore it here. It's beautiful seasons have given me something to look forward to and so many hidden beauty stops in the lakewood toms river area.

I lived in Lakewood for 5 yrs. Tom's River was a place where I always took my son weekly to enjoy the beach. Lived most of my life in Jersey. Moved to Florida 10 yrs ago in July 2013 and I miss it but will never move back. Enjoy the Garden State

This was quite interesting. As a NJ resident I live in one of the safe and more affluent areas of northern NJ, Bergen County. We are not far from Newark, Paterson and Passaic are fairly close too but these worlds are night and day. A colleague of mine grew up in Paterson and can attest that is was a safe place to live and work during that time. The northern part of NJ is a real mix of desirable towns and places to stay out of.

I live in Paterson (passaic county) and everything is here ..motor vehicle, embassies, wonderful exotic restaurants, shops, colleges, nice schools, best hospitals, I love it!💗 ...I am a female architect working in NY and I feel safe here.

I've seen these conditions in every state in our great country sadly.
I was born and raised in Passaic NJ. It wasn't always bad and definitely was always on the poor spectrum. As a kid speaking for myself. I always thought of Monroe st, Market Street, 3rd & 4th st as little Puerto Rico. Sadly as I got older, the town got completely out of hand with drugs, prostitution, homelessness & gang culture. I left in late 2013 and moved to Missouri. I visited last year 2021 and everything was different when I came back to visit. Almost unrecognizable as all businesses either moved, changed, or simply doesn't exist anymore.
Passaic isn’t too bad but def sucks. I was born and raised too , regardless it’s where i was born so i have that love for it haha
Springfield Missouri had about as many murders last year as Newark NJ.

As a man that lives in south Jersey I can say that Most of Cumberland county meaning the county of Bridgeton and Vineland is a real toilet. And as for Atlantic City we’ll gamble and get out. Its a shame it used to be a nice place to visit.
We used to visit AC a lot. But times changed and we used to warn people who came for the casinos and wanted to take a walk around town that once you leave the boardwalk AC is a dangerous hellhole.

I grew up in Irvington and it was really a great place to grow up. It really started to change in the 1960s. I wouldn’t trade my growing up years there for anything! All gone now.
Same with Patterson. My grandmother grew up there in the 1910s-1920s, and people used to honeymoon at the falls. Lots of colonial history there, and now it's a pit

NJ has the highest property taxes in country so all the nice places people keep mentioning they are nice but they are paying a arm and a leg to live in those areas.

My friend almost had her car jacked by gun point.. she’s ex military and grabbed his gun but she was shook and she’s no lightweight. I think ppl who aren’t from Jersey and don’t know how to maneuver in an urban environment will always be targets because they show their weakness.. I love the energy of Newark though

I live in SNJ and you really do it a disservice. Yes, there are poor and dangerous places, it’s corrupt and expensive, but it’s not as bad as you portray it. Most of your subject towns are not as bad as you portray them. NJ has many beautiful places and lots of things to do including outdoor activities. Of course you focus on people wanting to hear the bad over the good. I for one don’t like or watch your videos. I’ve seen a few and they’re one-sided to say the least. Maybe change it up and show the other side once in a while.

I left New Jersey over 30 years ago. I don't know what it's like now, but Bernards Township, where I lived was a great place to live. Safest place Iv'e lived, great schools and very clean.

It’s a True Pleasure to travel down Bergenline Avenue and experience 15 different North American, South American and Caribbean Cultures on One Street.

I've live in New Jersey. Yes, we get frustrated with it, but we still love it. There is so much here and much love. We my live on top if one another and may appear we are rude, but when something happens, we all help one another. Also, with taxes, we help prop up the rest of the US. I'm a jersey native and have lived all over the state. Basically, there's Newark, Trenton, and Camden. Those are the "big 3" you avoid if you can. There's other poor areas but nowhere else is really too dangerous. There's spotty areas around Newark that are dangerous but that's not really true with Camden. Once you're out, you're safe. Same with Trenton.

Born and raised in N.J....grew up next to Camden. The town used to be amazing but deteriorated quickly over the years....like many other cities in the state. All states have bad areas that once used to be beautiful though. This man is correct though. These towns are not safe. It's information that outsiders can appreciate when looking into moving to N.J. That being said...there are also so many gorgeous towns in N.J. and many wonderful places to visit! I love it here.

I've been living in south jersey for 5 years. Love it! There are good towns, regular towns and bad towns like everywhere across this great country. Thankfully I live in a good one. Top of the line in terms of safety, schools systems, and so on.
