your point about the elbows was spot on. I say about the selling of striking in wrestling and kicks to the face and i bring up the Holly Holm kick to Ronda Rousey. She was kicked in the face once and had to go to the hospital. But the people I say it too tells me to suspend my belief but I cant.
And I watched the first match of wrestle kingdom and it was rated an amazing match because he kicked out of loads of moves and finishers and it went on for 20 minutes or so, which isn't what the first match of a show should be like.

NJPW is a lot like the WWE in terms of their rise in popularity, in their respective setting. In Japan, New Japan used to be very popular in the 80's and 90's and some of the 00's. Now, their popularity has diminished significantly. And for the record, Japanese fans have gone crazy for Nakamura and Tanahashi when they were on top. Don't believe me? Look up videos. This narrative that Japanese fans are silent is pretty much a myth.
