- In case you (somehow) hadn’t heard… Silicon Valley Bank failed, which is the first bank failure since 2008 👀
SVB is the 16th largest bank in the United States, and it failed last week after its customers attempted to take out their money… and the bank didn’t have all of that money to give.
FDIC, or the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation, exists in case of bank failures like this one. They insure bank accounts (up to a limit of $250,000), so customers will get their money back (up to that limit). To make this happen, the SVB employees have been asked to stay on to help with the transition - and to incentivize them to stay, they’ve been offered 1.5x their current salary for 45 days.
Any thoughts on this bank failure? Let us know in the comments!

Tale as old as time, this is me right now😅
This doesn't work for public service jobs. If you don't meet the specific requirements and explain how you meet them in your application you'll automatically be screened out.
Alright then you’ll be screened out. Point is it wasn’t your job to decide to screen you out so you applying should never be what stops you
@@lofi-gurl well you're just wasting your your time. If I'm the application it asks you to "explain in 250 words or less how you meet the following qualification: Masters degree in GIS technology". And you don't have a master's degree in GIS technology, all you're doing is wasting your time and the screener's time.
Also in public service jobs, they hiring manager holds these jobs for his buddies first, family friends second, brown noser third and lastly any other qualified applicant.
@@asadb1990 not in my experience. I guess it depends on the policies. Where I work it's really hard to just give jobs to your friends. There's a point based system that gives you points for interview performance, experience, and demeanor. Job competitions are also randomly audited by HR where they try to find improprieties or conflicts of interest. I'm sure people still game the system but I've literally never seen a friend of the hiring manager get a job.
Would you mind captioning your videos to make them more accessible please? ❤
Companies that don't promote internally are garbage. People left my old job because they gave a promotion to an outsider rather than someone who has been with the company for years. What a joke.
Why manager is asking employee to apply for another job ?
