Dr. Mate has the precious gift of speaking calmly with adequate passion and compassion. No wonder what he says sinks into our consciousness and our soul welcomes as true.

How is it that Dr Mate is one of the few who speak the truth. He cant be possibly the only one. Even as a non medical professional is obvious. Thanks for sharing 🙏

Dr. Mate is the type of person we need more of in positions of power and authority, as it is clear he would not abuse it. Starkly different than all those in such positions -currently. Great podcast!

The problem is that Gabor Matés path leads to deeper and deeper levels of responsibility. This eventually exposes the complete lack of integrity in the modern culture model for power and authority. This model requires that for some to have great power many more must be less powerful, and great authority requires even greater subservience from everyone else.

you probably will change your mind ones you understand and realize the nature of power in any society. starting from the ideas about human nature by the enlightenment thinkers like john Locke, Hobbes to the birth of modern propaganda and its role as essential in a democracy and we can go on and on

I just want to share this video is so helpful to me.
My mom died when I was three months old. Because my dad couldn’t take care of me I was adopted by nuns. The nuns were so good to me. They made agreement with my dad that he can come and take me home on holidays and summer vacations. Which I never liked. I blamed my dad but in my eyes my mom was like a saint never blamed her. After watching this video I realize the core abonnement wound is my moms. And the most painful one as well. I understand now also why I was affected by this women in my life suddenly getting ill. Probably she activated this old mother wound. Now I am aware of it, my healing journey this old wound can start. I don’t blame my parents. I know they did the best they can. They need healing as well. So thank you for doing this life process with Gabor. Thank you Gabor you are amazing!! Mehalo 💜🕊☮️

If you really want to change your life, listen to all of Maté's videos and/or read his books. You will wish you had found them sooner. 🙂 If you want to learn more about healing trauma, there is much research and many approaches. Peter Levine's Somatic Experiencing is one approach that helps the person focus on what's going on physically inside the self.

Alexander Lowen created Bioenergetics and John Pierrakos created Core Energetics and both of these men studied psychology with Wilhelm Reich, who studied with Freud. Both Bioenergetics and Core Energetics help people to feel their feelings and acknowledge their basic human feelings.

"The ultimate in beauty? It is that which mends and inspires the soul, and all creation."
"Special is that something, or someone, that invokes more in all."
"Beauty is that being, who stands as such, who stands for more, who stands for better."
"For all that is, the good, the bad & the ugly, is there a rhyme, a rhythm & reason? Know patience, know perseverance, know poetry. Only then, will you know."
"Maybe my tragedy is a test, I want to be taught, for me to be true, to allow me to transcend, for me to treasure."
"Persist upon your pain, that it not be in vain. In uncovering meaning & value, comes comfort & elevation."
"Heavenly is a hurt, that hollows out a truth - for a bigger heart, for a greater understanding."
"Our afflictions, and addictions -- are as wicked, or wise -- as our understanding of them."
"Enlightenment is the light of understanding, for yourself, and for all others."
"An education lived, a wisdom experienced -- has breath, sinew, and virtue."

Interesting that Gabor recounts his abandonment trauma that related to an event that happened when he was ~1 year old and the wound he still carried some 70 years later ... and in the next breath he says "a wound that can be healed at any time".
Yet he, who has treated so many, has written several books and has lectured on the topic countless times just revealed he still hadn't healed himself after 70 years 🧐
He makes it sound so easy...
"it can be healed at any time" yet after 70 years he still hadn't succeeded in healing himself 😮
