We have had ground bees. I throw old window screens on top of the opening at night. Then pour a 5 gal bucket of water and biodegradable dish detergent on the screen. this seems to take care of the problem.

I was digging a really big hole in prep for an oak tree near my raised beds. There was a yellow jacket nest that I did not know about right next to where I leaned to rest a spell on the raised bed. I got stung, quickly vacated, and went inside to rub a baking soda paste on the sting. While running, I prayed, “Father, forgive them as they don’t know what they’ve done.” I also resolved to leave the nest alone and not take any revenge. The pain immediately died down mostly even before I could get the paste applied. It was completely gone before I had the paste rubbed in. 10 minutes after being stung I could not find the red spot from the sting. I’ve been stung by yellow jackets and bees before this. I know what it should feel like but this time was very different. Why did I have such relief so quickly? The why is not for me to ruminate upon. All I care about is that it happened to the praise and glory of our Lord, Jesus, the Messiah.

Did you know that yellow mustard on a bee or wasp sting handles the problem? It does and the stinger comes out in the mustard… I’m 70 years old and have been doing this since early on… I learned this helping round up cattle!!

@@LadyPeter it might have been a bite rather than a sting, they do both, sometimes at the same time. Be careful around them when they start putting out the pheromones the whole nest will respond.

I had paper wasps in a bush in my yard. Didn't see it and got stung 3 times on my hand. Finally found the nest, sprayed at it with the hose once they flew off knocked the nest down so they wouldn't come back. Then ran in the house till I knew they were gone for good. They have a mean sting. Thankful it was a small nest.

Just wondering if you thought of maybe getting a small pony that is trained to pull a cart to help move things around. When I was little my dad use to take me to a small dairy farm near our home. My dad, growing up in dairy farm country in upper NY state in the 20's and 30's, would talk with the farmer and swap stories. Every thing from tractors to repairing the milking machine. They would always mention how something with an engine would go down and they would need help moving some small things around. That's why they kept a pony. Usually a Shetland. I know it is really old school and a ATV is much more fun. Just thinking of how useful a pony would be. If you know of anyone that knows horses you could check out some auctions together.

I found a solution to ants. Mix equal parts of table salt and baking soda (I used 10lbs:10lbs). Then I spread it generously over the ant hills and trails and within a day or 2 they were gone. No harm to my animals or grandchildren with harmful sprays or pesticides.
Careful with those wasps. I've been stung multiple times and it made me very sick with fever. Blessings to you all and I hope your animals stay safe and healthy.

On the wasps to be able to keep it all natural of course you don’t wanna do any poisons. I love their ideas about the soap and water. Dawn is amazing. I’m gonna try that too.
