For anyone asking, my PC specs are in the description! I hope this helps to clear up some information regarding performance metrics. Let me know your thoughts on 4.0 so far!
@@ramboknifemw8351 I show my settings I usually play the game at at around 3:16. I also run the game at 1440p. I'd definitely give these settings a try and also maybe consider checking out my optimization guide. It's slightly outdated but I plan on making an updated guide for 4.0 soon!
Also dlss was working before. You were just CPU bottlenecked. Just cause dlss didn't give you a better FPS didn't mean it wasn't working. Seems CPU side of things is a bit more optimized and can use more GPU in a lot of cases. I'm seeing the same uplift but never had a GPU bottleneck like you cause I have a 4090. But if I did then yeah dlss would have increased fps
the biggest issue isn't the performnace but the server lag, everything feels unprecise and delayed, opening doors has no crispness ot it, same with pushing button in the ship
He lightly touched on that at the start, speaking of the sFPS (Server FPS) which was at 30 (Which is industry standard and the game feels great at) when he did, He didnt mention it after that, but its almost always present in that big text block at the top right of his screen.
I remember back em ma day! playing Counter Strike 1.6 in early 2000's at 15 to 30 fps thinking that was the coolest thing ever lol. Miss those days but also glad for our gaming technology improvements
From my testing, as long as you've done the optimizations in process lasso, even if you have it closed it should still be working. Everyone's system is different though so I'd still test it for yourself!
The 6800k is a bit of an older CPU these days, which could be your bottleneck depending on the graphics card you use. Star Citizen is a very CPU dependent game. So I'd do some research to see how other people with similar specs to you can run the game!
Very good video, not sure why it doesn't have more views. I liked it and subscribed. I'm assuming you have a beast of a rig, but seeing those FPS numbers is absolutely shocking. Server keeping a stable 30fps is also unheard of. This is all EPTU, so there's still a high chance it will all go to shit on live release but this is looking more optimistic than I thought it would. Would you care sharing your system specs? Want to see how I compare to that with my mid-tier rig. Happy holidays
Thanks I really appreciate it! So far since 4.0 has hit LIVE in preview state it's been running great. I just played for about 2.5 hours flawlessly. It actually feels like a game and there's things I feel like I can do without it being super laggy. I have a Ryzen 7 7700x with a 3070Ti with 32GB of DDR5 6000mt RAM and of course on an SSD. Regardless of that though, I still saw that massive increase in performance which shocked me. I hope this helps! Happy holidays to you as well!
@@Velus_ Thank you, I thought there would be an alien difference between your rig and mine but it turns out this old gooner will still be able to pack a punch. Question - Can I access 4.0 now with only the basic packet? I have backed the game with a basic packet back in the days of the Hangar Module. Very soon it became evident that SC won't deliver on its promises on time so I was iffy about investing more funds into it and shelved it for years. This is looking too good to pass up on honestly, and I know CiG is notorious for polishing the state of their game pre-release, only to completely butcher it when it hits live for the wider audience.
I was surprised at how poorly 3.24.3 ran, even after they fixed the server issues. I think that with server meshing PES might not slow down the game as much, but the performance client side might not be as effected if it does. Hopefully!
They didn’t give a crap about improving resource management or efficiency specifically because it was all moot once 4.0 came out anyway. Now they can actually focus on it and not have it be wasted work.
i would like to give the game a try, but not if it cant stay at, at least 60 fps, so it looks like im gonna have to wait a couple more years for further optimizations
you don't even always get 60+ fps with the best specs there are. but with a 9800x3d you might get 60+ most of the time. have a 7800x3d myself and i don't get 60+ always at all
I'm on 4060ti, i9-11th gen with 32GB DDR4 ram This game runs at 60FPS everywhere except Cities and Large Stations where it's are 26-34 which is practically console standard
Ive been Evo since 3.0 FPS doesnt mean ANYTHING in test builds. Means even less when the patch is fresh. Will yall ever learn? It doesnt flesh out until full LIVE stress 24 hours after launch - then you know what sort of build you got.
I'm just speaking from personal experience. In all of the builds I've played, test build or LIVE build, I've never gotten performance as good as I have with 4.0. And even so far on the LIVE preview, I've still had unbelievable performance for my standards. Have you tried out 4.0 for yourself? I'd strongly recommend doing so. I know builds take at least 24 hours to be truly broken in but all of the EPTU builds I played stood beyond 24 hours and the live build so far has been pretty rock solid.
use to have a gtx 1650 , i upgraded like 2 mouth ago but for perspective with the 1650 i use to have 40 in moons , 20-35 on planets , 60 in middle of space , 45 on asteroide field around yela , and 20 in citys but i was cpu bound . i have on 1080p native , so for 4.0 expect around 15 to 20% more fps
@@iwo1221 I did in performance but I think upscaling doesn't work in 3.24 if resolution under 1440p or it's maybe only doesnt work for dlss , but its star citizen after all
Keep the 3.24 for now. They kept that as live incase 4.0 soulcrushes but fingers crossed it will be transferred to Live soon. All progress should be transfered.
I was by no means trying to brag about my system at all. I'm sorry if it came across that way. I did put the specs in the description because people kept asking. But I was solely just testing the games performance.
HEY well at least you can experience the broken crap at better frame rates... BUT let's not be deluded, the game is a FKUP at the moment and CIG know it!! these cheap ass bottom of the barrel devs need to go... chris has been funding his lifestyle rather that creating a game.
All I have to say is if it's not for you, don't play it. You are more than welcome to follow the development of the game and if in some time the game is released into 1.0, and you want to try it out for yourself, I'd love to see you join us.
How is it click bait you can see how smoothly his game is running in the video lol? Even if he lied about the fps numbers then how did he get the footage to look so smooth? Also I just tested it my performance is good. Must be your PC
I made sure to show the evidence of the FPS on the screen with the in-game info tools. No, I didn't have my previous benchmarks recorded, but the performance was still there on the latest build. It was not clickbait, and if you are having issues with your current system, maybe try looking at how other people with similar specs run the game on their system. Thanks for watching!
