Yeah ... I got this one on my wish list. Only con is that big nob mounts on the handle only 1 way, so it's always for right hand operation and I would prefer to have the handle mounted on left side of my camera :(.
Can you slow down the speed, in case the motor is used for the Zoom ring? The manufacturer says that the motor can also be used for the zoom ring. Then it shouldn't be a 'hard stop', I think!
will this follow focus adapt to vintage lenses like a Helios 44-2. Some lenses also have a tight focus ring that may need extra torque on the motor? How torquey is this thing?
Both the wheel and the grip set are sold seperately if you want to save money or prefer one or the other. The grip thing is more expensive than the wheel
Hi, I've been struggling for hours... After the calibration it's still not working. While I spin the wheel on the controller the numbers on the motors is running, but the motor is not moving. Do you know why? I really appreciate if you have any tips on how I can solve the problem.. Thank you!
Maybe you can quickly help me here: I have the two motor kit and would love to power both of them via V-mount battery. Is it possible to daisy-chain the two motors ? Maybe I use the wrong key-words, but up to now, I only found a scenario where one motor is powered using the Np-F battery plate with battery and the second motor via cable to V-mount battery ... Thanks, for your input here :-9
Hey Arthur, does this kit have some sort of loop system where it bookmarkers 2 or more focus points and just keep on looping? I'm a single man crew and one of the shots I cannot do is to manually change focus when I am filming myself from a distance. And that remote won't work unless I am looking at a screen.
Great review as always. just wondering if you can change the throw of the control wheel so that it doesn't rotate th esame angle as the lens? eg, if lens throw is 300 degrees can you set FF control wheel to say 100 degrees (helpful when mounted on a grip when using shoulder mount)?
Great review Arthur. I want to control 2 exact cameras (and lenses) focus at the same time for a 3D stereoscopic rig. Are you aware if the MagicFIZ controller can drive 2 separate motors concurrently?
As a DP who usually has to go hand held, the battery on top of the camera motor is an awful design. It's too bulky and large. :( I really wish someone would make a good affordable wireless follow focus. The PDmovie is close, but it too has an awful battery delivery system. Aw well. This looks cool though.
Amendment for time 3:19 with and FX3 or FX30 you can use the SmallRig Rod Clamp instead of using a cage.
That’s genius! Didn’t know that existed, but I just ordered one!

Arthur got me into photography. A few things have happened since then, so, see you on the other side Arthur ❤
Are you dying?😢

can u suggest a wireless follow focus that i can use on sigma 60-600mm lens to zoom in and out.
Can set point A and B and then let it pull Focus automatically over a certain period of time?

have you tried Accsoon F-C01?

Thanks... only for focus? no zoom?

I have a dumb question… how do you turn it on lol. I have it and idk how to turn it on
Can the speed of the motor be adjusted? E.g. change the speed of the focus?
The circular Controller when mounted on a cage or gimbal will have the screen facing in the opposite direction rendering it completely useless.
Great review. I’ve been looking for something like this
Great video, keep it up! Is there a way to reset the Magic FIZ?
Best wishes

Great review. I had a question, any thoughts on Yongnuo YN 50mm f1.8S DA DSM as it is the cheapest prime lens for Sony E-mount with autofocus.

I found the single motor kit for $90
