yo CJ, you have one of the most beautiful, well-maintained aquariums I have ever seen, you take very good care of your reef man, I strive to have as much patience and care as you do. I have a 45 gallon that I'm currently working on and you're an inspiration man.
One thing I can tell is that the blend of the different bars is better. I could easily see bands of separate blue and white on your tank when lit by Orpheks.
Really enjoying the whole series CJ.. THANK YOU!! I was hoping you could do a video on aquarium maintenance.. what numbers are you monitoring, adjustments, cadence/ details of water changes, etc.. Please keep the videos coming.. and thanks again..
Thanks for tapping in. I’ll be making more topic specific videos on the build including a few you mentioned. I work a lot so hard to get the videos out but they are coming 🫡💯
I have a 36" x 24" x 17" waterbox frag tank. I run two Kessil A360X and one Blade glow. I have always liked the blue colouration and the associated pop, the Glows do not disappoint. If my Kessils packed up I would replace them with Grows. I love the noise free simplicity of the Blades and the PAR spread. Both my lights max out at 40% until I get hold of a decent PAR meter.
I really enjoyed your video, I have two blades on my 40 gallon tank, 1 grow and 1 glow. I am so frustrated trying to figure out how to schedule using the mobius app. I wish I could have someone like yourself show me...
Beautiful tank! Thank you for sharing about the blades, I have I right now but I want 2 more. Also thank you for sharing about how the lunar works, I was wondering about that.
Definitely curious about your comparison video between the blades and Orphek. Hard to say from just the videos, but with your Orphek setup the tank looked so much... sharper, and brighter. With your videos and pics with the blades the tank looks hazy and colors seem a little more dull? Not sure, might be an effect the glare from the blades. Regardless still love the tank and enjoying the ride following this build 👌🏼
Very hard to record the tank to show true colors and look. But yes there is a difference I’ll explain further in the comparison video. Pros and cons to both lights for sure 👌🏾💯
Looks great but I think I noticed the yellow coris flashing at 0:18 and at 0:25 btw. My coris wrasses had similar behavior which is them searching for food, but began flashing about a week before I noticed ich in my tank
I definitely have ick in the system. No avoiding it just managing it with UV sterilizer. Most of the time wrasses digg for food causing cloud of sand not flashing
I looks like the right side of your tank leans more blue, and the left side more white. Or am I seeing that wrong? Saw another video of the ai blade and it had that issue. Thanks. Your tank looks awesome!
Nice! I thought you were set with the OR3s. Ordered a few more to add with my current set up. Convict tang also was flashing against the sand. Ich management I guess? This hobby is tough.
really nice test, but somehow you missed the biggest problem with the ai grow. the problem with white light. all AI-Grows are much whiter on the power cord side. like all AiBlade tank´s, one side of your floor is white and the other is blue. had the same problem with my blades, Ai changed them 3 times but allways the same, to much white on den power cord side. now i use 2 blade´s one cord to the left one to the right, looks a little bit better but still not perfekt spread. i realy hope Ai will fix this problem in there next generation of blades
I’ve noticed this with both blades and Orpheks honesty. And as you mentioned have to reverse them to get around it. Guess something they can fix eventually didn’t think to mentioning it on video but definitely worth nothing. Thanks for the comment 💪🏾
Nice video. Thanks. What do you think about 3 or 4 or these AI Blades, size 21" to serve as the sole primary lights for a 50 gallon low boy frag tank (48 x 24 x 10") oriented parallel to the 24" side, spaced evenly? Should I go 3 or 4? All grow, all glow or mix? Your feedback is appreciated.
Looks like I’ll need to make a flow video a lot of people asking. It’s not just one setting it changes throughout the day. Stay tuned for the flow update video 💯
Love the content but try to cut the background audio or turn it way down. It's really hard to hear you talk with the music playing. Otherwise, great video and looking forward to seeing how this AI blade array works out for the coral growth.
I’ll keep it in mind. I record and edit using my cell phone I think audio sounds diff depending on device your watching my videos on. Thanks for watching 💪🏾
CJ...LOVE the Neptune Board mount on the side... Clean look... Also, love the amount of water movement on your tank's top surface. Is your aquarium open at the top, with no cover?
I could use some help with the mounting. I want to mount 3 over my tank, same style as you. I cant seem to find all the parts for that. Is it two single hms arms? I dont see any extension options on BRS .
Super review thank you! I’ve been looking at this mounting option. Would I need two hms stands for a24” tank with 21” blades or could I get away with just 1?
Once I add MXM module to my apex I’ll upload and share all of my programs for lighting and mp40s. I’ve never those lights this is my first time using AI anything so not sure how to help you with that
I’ll keep a lookout CJ. I’m looking forward to it. As I said previously, your videos are always so in-depth and informative. Would also like to see a follow up on how the tank is doing with the blades.
Hi , i hace a 20 gallon Waterbox tank running under an AI Prime 16HD . i am thinking in changing Prime for 2 Ai Blades (grow and grow) , its a good idea ? Or better i continue with the Prime ?
Bad idea if your only doing one of each color. You will get bad color blending. Ether do two grows or all blue with two glows. You may be better sticking with current lighting
CJ I do like the blades review and par but their price for me is really unreasonable and would just get a few more bucks and opt in for the eco techs but with that being said I’m referring to supplemental lighting as stand alone I guess that price range will work longevity is to see though 👍🏼great video
Honestly I feel like puck style single point lighting is the way of the past. Can’t beat the spread and coverage of these newer bar style lights just my experience thus far. Stay tuned we will see how they perform over time 👌🏾💯
Tanks looking great! How was your experience with the corals from coral cheapskates? I was thinking about buying from them but I’m wary of ordering corals in hot weather. Did you do their buy $200+ every piece becomes $10 deal?
No issues they all arrived fine. I selected a few corals individually not as a package. Only issue I had was Cloves being attached to my trumpet corals that I had to scrap off.
I’ll cover it in the comparison video. Both are great lights in my opinion but the blades just gave me a better blend and control of colors in the tank. More to come on this…
Orphek Vs Ai Blade comparison video is here :
ruclips.net/video/WUMIkIfc50w/видео.htmlsi=NxegVoGBkMejQddL
You know you’re addicted when you doing this stuff at 4:18am! Very informative. Making me want to try the blades out! Keep it up
Any questions feel free to drop a comment! Orphek Vs Blade comparison video will be next and explaining the light change 💯
New you would love them ;)
A tip for you turn the grows opposite end so wires face opposite way, then your aquarium won’t be more white one end and more blue the other ;)
Do you think that mount but only one arm would work well with the smallest grow and glow combo
Thanks for doing a par test with the lights mounted and not just sitting on the tank with the plastic mounts. I've been waiting for this!
Definitely 0 concern wit the power from these lights… thanks for watching 🫡💯

Absolutely major difference 💯

Hey CJ just bought my blades and have em on there right now, this review convinced me 💯 to buy em and put em on my new build i absolutely love them
🫡💯 awesome

Great job, buddy still watching in silence! RESPECT
Nice switch, love my 21 in grow on my 50 gallon corner tank. Fit perfect cause it has a canopy.
Installation definitely looked pretty eazy as well 🔥🔥
Wow the tank looks amazing, glad to have you back 🎉
Thanks, just ordered two 30 grows, we have the same tank
💡✨💡✨💡✨ Love the tones with these! Lookin' forward to the GROWTH!!! 📈
Definitely a slick apparatus overall 👌🏻🥵

Thanks!
Great video. Nice meeting you at the LFS

I clicked only bc i saw this awesome scape. Realy nice!
The whole set up looks great. Awesome job man!
Looks nice. Super Clean!
I like the Orphek lights better imo. Still nice though.
Your setup is lookin' doooope!
You have a very neat TANK !!!
Nice job sir! Time to sit back and enjoy some Be Eazy Sauce!
Already started 🥃

Good video, i have just purchased the 48" lights, 2 grow and 1 glow. was worried about having these as stand alone for my reef tank with corals
Definitely more then enough 🫡
Where do you get the HMS mount

That’s the future Cj !!!!
I agree 💯
This is good. They should pay you. You're doing eco techs job.
Just trying to share info I would want to know hope it helped
Why did you switch to the blades? You had lights before that were amazing.
I looks like the right side of your tank leans more blue, and the left side more white. Or am I seeing that wrong? Saw another video of the ai blade and it had that issue. Thanks. Your tank looks awesome!
Was a bad batch of lights. I’ve had them replaced and issue resolved since this video. I didn’t know it at the time.. good catch 👌🏾
Hey cj. You said you were going to do a video on why you made the switch. When is it coming out.

Ich Managment with UV sterilizer is the plan… both are great lights honestly flip a coin. I’ll cover it in the comparison video
Hey cj can you post the link for the blade hms mount
Search the bulk reef supply website
Nice aquascape
Good stuff. New subscriber

Temporarily uncovered. I’m getting my custom lid modified to fit around the HMS mounts so until then hoping nothing jumps
@@CJSAQUARIUMS Nice nice...

I’d always use 2 mounts but you could try 1 see if centering the blade on it looks ok 👌🏾
nice review man, do you guys know if one blade will do a good job in a budget tank with 80x35x45?
I don’t think one will do the job tank that big unless you have a Aquascape the same as the light spread. I personally wouldn’t use only one
Live the blades on the 75.
Where could i get templates from i have 2 32hd and 2 26hd?
Also where can i get your wave maker setup , i have 2 mp40s
Once I add MXM module to my apex I’ll upload and share all of my programs for lighting and mp40s. I’ve never those lights this is my first time using AI anything so not sure how to help you with that
Why the switch cj. The Orphek were beautiful. Made the tank gorgeous.
Stay tuned for comparison video I’ll explain then
I’ll keep a lookout CJ. I’m looking forward to it. As I said previously, your videos are always so in-depth and informative. Would also like to see a follow up on how the tank is doing with the blades.
How wide is your tank? I have a 48 wide you think the 39 inch would be fine or go with the 48 inch blade
Yes my tank is 36” with 30” blades

Not sure if it's an optical illusion but why does the right if the tank look more blue/dimmer than the left?
After this video I found was a bad batch that went out that needs to be swapped out by AI this is know a known defect
@@CJSAQUARIUMS ah good note! Will keep a lookout for mine when it comes in
What program do you run on your ecotech Vortech's? The back to back wave pulse is great!
Changes thru the day but one pump drives the waves and other runs independently I don’t ever have ether synced. I’ll cover my flow in another video

Man that is way over kill on the lighting for that tank. You are trying to keep up with Parker's Reef lol
Rather have too much and turn it down then need to add more later 🥃👌🏾
2 AI hydra 32hd is cheaper i think. Would do the same job i think?
Never used them.. I’m pretty much sold on bars are primary lighting after using both types over my tank.
What made mode are you running on the mp40
how do you get no algea in this beatifull tank?
Look closer entire scape covered in alage at the moment
What’s your vortech schedule? Do you have one in constant pulse mode?
I’ll be covering flow in my tank in a future video. It’s a combination of flow patterns that shift during the day and night. Stay tuned
where do you get the extensions at?
HMS extension mounts from BRS
