- Grab your coffee and walk with me to look at the finished product of the tiny patio rework in front of the studio. For the moment, a triple-tier Eugenia has replaced the Yucca. Pots of coral-colored zonal geraniums have moved in, and the boxwood has been pruned to within an inch of its life. Finally, neat and tidy, with the coral color echoes I adore. I miss a birdbath of sorts,or a sound of water when admiring your magnificent garden!
That was a walk in heaven
I am rather new to your garden, so I am most happy for any repeat sharing. I am absolutely enamored with your topiaries and have purchased a bottle brush topiary at a favorite local garden center. I love it and can see adding to a collection. I live on the eastern shore of Mobile Bay 8b, suffer from oppressive humidity and constantly battle mosquito inhabitation. I find that those that are not afflicted with the vile population can enjoy gardening much more. I appreciate all of your knowledge and trial and error experiences very much.
I love getting to see this in the morning it helps me start my day in a very nice calm and enjoyable way. The way the world is today it is nice to have some reminders of nature and our Creators Handywork and your hard work.
That's so sweet! Glad I can help you start the day positively.
Picture perfect garden just mesmerizing, love the way u record it 🤩🤩 nice setting etc.💚💚💚
It’s really beautiful 👍
Your right it’s a beautiful setting
Thank you!
I love the sound of your voice. It is so soothing and deep and restful.
Thank you, it's the only one I've got. 😁
Thank you for filming slowly. ☺️Not only does it give time to absorb the beauty😀 but I don't get motion sick🤮.
Hi Linda, hope you enjoy a wonderful day. It’s 11 pm here in Melbourne Australia. I love to watch your videos at the end of my day to unwind. Thank you for everything you share
Hi Linda other great morning garden tour. You can never get tired of your garden as its so beautiful.
I never get tired of watching your garden over and over again, it's so wonderful and inspirational.
Thank you so much for the lovely tour of your garden. I absolutely love seeing your garden and your commentary is so soothing it makes me feel I am walking in a friend’s garden and we are having a conversation. Right now it is very hot here in north central Texas so I try it get out early in the mornings to work in my garden, but the heat chases me in around 10:30. Then I come in and get a cold glass of ice tea and sit down to view your wonderful videos and I am revived and feel it is all worth the hours spent in my garden. Thank you so much for sharing your garden and your rich stone of garden knowledge with us.🌺🌸🌼🌹
Thank you for all of the support! It means so much to me 💐stay cool in this heat.
I just love your garden, I never tire of your garden tours. Always so peaceful and relaxing. Thank you for all you do ❤️
Thank you for watching!
Thank you for your slow walkabouts. It gives us an opportunity to soak in details and we don't get sea-sick either! I agree that a small garden gives you great opportunity for perfectionism. You can pack things in for volume and then edit according to the seasons or your whim.
So pretty and peaceful...♥
Lovely tour! Your reworked area looks very nice too! Thanks for sharing your beautiful garden with us all.
A happy Tuesday morning to you as well. Spending some time with you is the best!
Oh I cannot wait for your video your friend suggested! I would love for someone to come and give me tips as you did for your friend. Just having someone see your garden, a room you need tweaking in you home, etc . with a new pair of eyes is what you need sometimes! It's amazing what one or 2 little changes can make for a more harmonious whole.
Wow so love the idea of boxwood evergreens topiary and so on! When i was younger i never like green foliage in my graden. It has to be always flowers. But now that im older my taste shifted entirely to the beauty of green and beautiful foliage! Im so excited to copy your garden. Its just beautiful❤️
Miss this the way you had it very much. Will be visiting again to enjoy.
I dont think I can ever be tired of watching your morning garden tour walk abouts! Since I subscribed to you, i enjoy my quiet early mornings watching your vids 😀 I feel its my new morning routine to watch your morn vid, very calming, peaceful. I appreciate you talking about each plant and container. I've created my first double ball topiary yesterday and feel so happy in the process I want to do more! 😍 Thank you for doing this every morning!
Just when you said someone knock on wood, a woodpecker started knocking in my yard! Lol
LOL! Love how that stuff happens!
I am getting so many wonderful ideas from your videos. This year has awakened many of my friends to gardening as well. I had a total knee replacement last week and am just dying to get back in my yard to put some of these new ideas into place! Surgery went well and will get me back to being a strong gardener again!
Thank you for the wonderful walk about - very inspirational during this scorching heat and high humidity in Baltimore. You are so right about loving the garden that you’ve got - truly appreciating mine right now. Not perfect but still lovely 🌿🌻☀️
Love your walk abouts! You much know you are the queen of cliffhangers, lol “ I’ll talk about that in another video” 😂 Have a wonderful day you’ve boosted my motivation to try my hand at a topiary today. I have the scraggiest looking boxwood and the planter, I now just need to get over the fright of making that first cut 😳
Best of luck, just go for it!
Linda Vater ❤️
YOUR GARDEN TO ME IS NOT SMALL, ITS COZY AND YOU KNOW JUST HOW TO PLANT YOUR PLANTS AND 🌳 YOUR TREES 🌲 TO MAKE IT LOOK JUST SO, WARM AND COZY AND QUAINT, A LOOK I LOVE 💕, IT HAS A LITTLE MYSTERY AND LOTS OF INTEREST AND IT IS VERY INVITING AND YOU HAVE SOME PRIVACY!!!! LINDA YOUR GARDEN NEVER BORE ME,!!!!!
Your garden looks great in spite of the heat you have mentioned! Outstanding effort in keeping everything looking so nice. 😍
When ever my friends come over I always make them watch Linda! Love all your tours
But do you serve 🍿?!? 😂
I for sure love your gardens and information you give us. I could not even tell you how many bags of pea gravel I have spread in our paths and various places. I fell in love with your areas with the pea gravel and it has made ours look so much more neat than it did before. I have also used it in some of my pots. 😊❤️😊
Linda, thank you, for all you do! I’m learning so much about gardening & design. Much Love
Your garden is so relaxing, so beautiful, so tidy and just a joy to see any day, every day.
Coffee with a friend! Thanks Linda, loved the walk around! You need to do a garden book!
Thank you for watching! We'll see what the future brings. 😌
You and your garden make me motivated!,Tku for sharing 💓😇
Your beautiful garden garden is so peaceful 🙏🏻
So beautiful, thank you for sharing.
Thank you for viewing. 🙂
Really like this garden ... it looks beautiful and fresh...Thanks for sharing this video :) Greetings from Indonesia
Beautiful and calming!
I just LOVE LOVE LOVE your garden!!!!
I found this tour & view of your garden quite peaceful - thank you!
This just popped up in my feed! Nostalgia! It was (past tense) a beautiful garden. I do love your new garden too, though!
Amazing
Lovely, thanks for sharing.
Good Morning Linda, I am on my third cup of coffee also! It is frustrating to not be able to go outside because it is so hot! I have had to move a lot of my potted plants to the shade because they are boiling no matter how much water I give them. I have a lot of areas of just shrubs and only three beds with flowers that I have to keep up with but when I put all this in I was young, and now I can only do so much each day so sometimes you want more but caring for it in the future is something to think about. Our yard is much smaller than yours but I dug up a lot of it 30 years ago when I had lots of energy. Thank you for this beautiful video. Your videos are always special and very much enjoyed and needed. Have a great day. Stay cool! ❤️
Perfect timing, I just came in from my garden (where I've been melting in this humidity) to find another relaxing view of your beautiful garden.
I feel ya on the humidity. Thank you for watching, stay cool. 😎
Hi Linda,
I dislike the hot humidity filled days but not enough to keep me out of my yard. I have been installing drip irrigation throughout my gardens and sweat my way through installing the last of individual emitters last evening and this evening. Although it was sweltering I can't seem to stay inside for too long. I have started using pea gravel in all my pots ( I copied the example of a good garden friend) and I find it goes well with the gravel sidewalks throughout my garden areas. I have alot of shade so I have to depend on texture more than color. I don't believe my gardens will ever be complete....as I keep finding new things to add. I do appreciate being able to watch your videos everyday. I sometimes sit in my rocking chair on the front porch with either a cup of coffee or a glass of iced tea, depending upon the time of day it is. Thank you so much for sharing with all of us each day.
Ko
I love your garden. Reminds me of my own. You use a lot of foliage and textures instead of relying on blooming flowers. ❤️❤️👏🏼👏🏼🇨🇦
Thank you! I appreciate the compliment 🙂
Beautiful garden to begin my morning! Thank you Linda .Love Ya,❤🌺🌸💐🌹🌷
yes you do have a unique garden. I was looking through the book Edible Landscaping and found your garden. so pretty.
You have changed my morning. Now I get up and immediately go out to my garden and see what needs attending. Thank you so much for your wonderful videos. Sharing your knowledge and beautiful garden is so inspiring. Have you done a video on potted plants and when to know they are root bound?
I just noticed in this video a lot of your topiaries are off center in the pots. Just wondered if there was a reason. I love all your topiary and am going to try to make one, or two! 😊
I am a new gardener because of you and the quarantine! You are the blessing that has come from this! I’ve killed my rosemary topiary but have started using gravel which has been a huge help here in KS with the chipmunks who would not stay out of my pots!! I am starting to worry about wintering over pots outside when there is no greenhouse I can take advantage of. Any tips you have once we get into fall are appreciated!
I’m binge watching your videos Linda, your yard and home are so beautiful, also you’re beautiful as well. You’re an inspiration!
Your garden is so beautiful and your walks through your garden are so relaxing. Thank you for your videos!
Love your garden!!! I want my garden just like your...I know going to take years to achieve it look....I live in Minnesota...zone 4...thank you to share your work.
Thank you for your support! Happy gardening 🌸
It is so hot and humid here in Southeast VA that even the poison oak is wilting!😂😓 Thank you sooooo much for going out in this weather and sharing your sweet garden with us!❤🦋❤
The heat is scorching! Keep cool 😎 thank you for all the support.
Good day Linda, it is such a beautiful day today and can’t wait to step out and do a walk about myself. I do love your videos and garden tours/walks, you inspire me to do gardening. I’ve had 3 plants I want to turn into topiaries, I’ll have to send you pics when I do. I went to your website and joined, loved your articles.
Thanks so much for these. Always get great ideas. Believe I’m going to get very involved with boxwoods next year.
Thank you! Best of luck with your boxwoods, they're one of my favorites.
I absolutely love your use of foliage, texture, structure and contrast. It’s so beautifully designed and peaceful. I tend toward the cottage garden style, but want to incorporate more structural elements and textures and I’m getting so many ideas from you. Thank you! I live in Michigan and have deer, so I have to find things that will work in my environment, but still give me the look I’m after.
This is really beautiful. I also like starting my day with a walk Through the garden. I however do have a large amount of land that I’m dealing with. I’m in the process of dividing the living space into rooms per se. I’m trying to figure out how to manage These areas. It gets overwhelming. But seeing what you have and a down scaled version of what I would like is truly inspiring.
I enjoy your gardening segments, Linda. Even though we're in a different zone, there's enough crossover. Gave boxwood a try this year partly because of your love of it. Thanks for the shows, they are helpful and good viewing.
Thank you for watching! Happy you gave boxwoods a try 🙂.
So calming
Thanks Linda, another beautiful tour. I'll join you again tomorrow. Gorgeous garden 🥰
I love your perfect small garden!! The walk abouts are always awesome ♥️♥️
Thank you for the tour.
Linda, you're spoiling us! Thank you so much!❤ Great content as usual
Appreciate the love! ❤️
I agree, loving though🤭
@@Li-Anderson she's making me wanna be a box wood! Oh my..., they are so happy and gorgeous!
Love walkabouts! I always notice something new and beautiful!
You did it again!☺️
I can't even get enough!🌻
Bring it Linda! Bring it!💃😂
LOL thank you, bringing it all day every day! 🌺
Every garden tour you do, I see something new that inspires me to try in the future. I would like to know how you tell the difference between new little plant sprouts in the gravel from weeds?
i found you via Laura at Garden Answers!
you're both SUCH an inspiration!
☺️ i'm starting to look out my window at my tiny garden with more & more satisfaction & pride each day!
You got me painting my pots and snipping my evergreens. I can kick myself for getting rid of my box woods when I could have formed them into balls. I do enjoy watching your videos.
Thank you! Happy trimming! 🌱
The reworked area is just Lovely, it looks organic even tho you've taken your time to place everything just so. The pink Geraniums are the prefect splash of color, I take cuttings to overwinter in my back south facing bedroom, that's all it's used for =^)
You do so great displaying pots. I don’t have the the knack.
Thank you! I've got lots of practice.
Beautiful
So lovely to see your garden every morning, esp. when we are in the middle of (a very wet) winter here in NZ. I just love the way you have used the Muehlenbeckia. It's a NZ native and I'm often pulling it out but I shall check myself now. I shal pot up the plant I found yesterday instead...you have such great ideas. Thank you for you.
Greetings from Oklahoma! Thank you for all of your support.
Good morning Linda and friends!!!! love, love the walk-abouts!!!!!! Garden always looks a bit different. I prefer a small garden since I do my own weeding (argh) and have other things to do other than work on it most of the day!!! Cheers All
P.S next year, scented geraniums,,,,, cann't wait to shop for unusual pots!!!
Agreed! Staying up on the weeding is a chore for sure.
I would love to see how you make all your potted look so nice. I see your garden and want my garden to look similar but it always looks cluttered when I do it
I'm enjoying your garden with my 2nd cup of hot toddy -- overproof Jamaican white rum, lemon, and honey.
Linda, I love how you shoot your videos. You go slowly, which means two things... I don’t get dizzy, AND, it really allows us to get a really good look at your garden splendour! I love your topiaries, and your choice of containers, and how you arrange everything so beautifully! What a magical garden you’ve created. You’ve probably been asked before, so sorry for asking, but what is the reddish material between your stones and brick pavers? Is it a type of crushed rock? I never thought of mixing bricks with natural stone. I’m sure if I tried it, it would be a mess. You have such a gift! I wish I had your climate too. I’m zone 4, in Ontario Canada. I can’t keep pots out all year , the concrete cracks and breaks, and our growing season is so short. I enjoy all your videos and your teachings!
It’s gravel.
I love your videos. Do you plant things directly in baskets or do you have a pot inside them?
Lovely!
Greeting from Connecticut. Your gardens are amazing and provide me with lots of new ideas.
One question, how come you don’t have hostas in your garden?
Thank you for the inspirations.
Please show how to train Mulenbeckia on a hoop. I have one and want to make it like your little one.
Your glass table top is so clean😀Do you wipe it every day? My glass tops around the garden always get water stains there on them...
Beautiful!!! I love your basket idea. It looks wonderful and is so practical! What kind of grass do you have? Does it need to be mowed often? We are in the planning phase of a new garden space in our yard and want the grass look, but not a lot of maintenance. Thanks!
In Love with your garden...How do you control mildew, aphids etc. or do you ever have uninvited insects eating your plants? Thank you for sharing.
I’ve been doing more container gardening this summer, however I’m concerned about some freezing this winter. I live in zone five north of Indianapolis and I buy frost proof pots. I’ve overwintered several things successfully thus far by placing all pots on south side of house buried in leaves.
That is what works for me too zone 8. Also container gardening, as I live in an RV. My garden tour videos are definately not as nicely filmed as Linda, but I still wanna share my love for plants! I just subscribed ti her, and I love her garden style. I do a lot of flowers, and edible plants. I want to shape some up how she has hers, topiary style. This is most of my plants 1st or 2nd season, so everything is wild.
Gorgeous 🌸
Lovely
Linda. Got a secret for you. Don’t tell Stewart, but you do a better job videoing. Love your tours, and living my love of green gardens thru you. Tfs cheers
LOL! I won't tell Stewart, thank you for watching.
Hi Linda, where can I get the terrace plant stand you have at your back patio. please share. thanks. Tess
Hello Linda, was at Home Depot yesterday and they have Boxwoods half off. $ varies $12.00...going back today...just starting a couple of new beds. 7/22/2020
Hi Linda, beautiful as always!! I have a boxwood question. I may have misunderstood or might have gotten wrong info from the internet but can you trim your boxwoods at all times of the spring, summer and fall or does it need to be done at a specific time? I read that it needs to be done early so the ends don’t get burned from the summer sun especially in southern climates. I see you clipping frequently and they always look lovely so just needing clarification. Thanks so much!❤️
I'm going to Lowe's right now...to buy some boxwoods. Which boxwoods like full sun. I want a medium size. Nothing tall
Lovely as always! How many containers do you have in this one area ? And what sizes are they ?
Hi , Yvette here from SA, it would be so nice to see your friends garden so that we can see your suggestions and we can compare the differences...I'm also trying to replicate your garden, it's gorgeous 👌
Thank you! More collaborations in the works 😁
The Red-Bellied Woodpeckers are out as well. Listen for it at your opening. ☺️😊
Is that what they are?!? Thank you dear!!!
Is that what they are?!? Thank you dear!!!
Good afternoon 💧💦🌂☔️☔️☔️☔️
Linda...where do u get the little rocks u put on top of your pots? I love the color.
She gets it primarily from Lowe’s. Hope this helps.
What’s that multiple trunk tree on the right? 👌
I love your use of containers in your garden. I bought several of the Sunshine Ligustrum and put them in pots in my garden. I’m in Central CA , zone 9. The leaves are dropping. Is it possible it’s just too hot here (105 + degrees), or maybe I’m over watering?
It’s probably just a bit too hot there. What I did when mine experience the same issues was to put them in a bit more shade. Water them a lot… Make sure they are in large enough parts to hold the moisture, and when it starts to cool again they will revive :-)
Linda Vater thank you Linda😊
Morning do you fertilizers your pots every week?
