    Excellent video! Allowed me to 'build' a virtual articulating project I had in mind. Now I know my idea won't work but I didn't waste any materials building a prototype. I'll definitely be back for more training.

    Wonderful instructional video, high quality content, great pace, clear video. You have a track-record for introducing problems we will see when we try this solo, and let us see the work-around.....outstanding. This is an area we get to a trouble spot.......and say what now, but your instruction takes much of the head banging out of learning and keeps me motivated instead of being frustrated. Thank you!

      What a great comment, it's support like this that keeps me going and committed to what I do. Even when (and hopefully if) I go back to my place of work full tme I will still dedicate my time to this channel. Being furloughed has given me the time to give this channel momentum but it's people like you that have given me support and made my experience in creating these videos so much enjoyable. . Thank you so much.

    Thank you so much.
    This is exactly what I was looking for, because I am drawing a grapple (a kind of gripper), to lift wooden logs and even rocks,
    with a mini excavator, which unfortunately is not equipped with a hydraulic thumb.
    I wanted to evaluate and correct the curves before cutting the steel parts.
    With this animation, I will be able to see the clamp in action, before making it for real.
    On the other hand, the junction point should be in the center, and the two arms should be able to pivot equally,
    just like a pair of scissors. So no fixed arm, only the pivot point.

      Glad to see that you found it useful and good to hear about your projects. Yes that's a great use for the workbench. I recently put together a wish bone suspension assembly in this workbench and its working really well. I have a different long play tutorial that I am working on at the moment and I hope to get it out before end of November. It's a great workbench for understanding how you model will work as a simulation and then use some code to allow it to be animated.

    Can you do this axle / circular edge constraint in Assembly4? I'm actually confused what the difference is... I know they both animate an assembly of individual models but how is one better or worse for axis rotation simulation?

      Both the assembly workbenches use different ways of simulate movement. A2 plus uses a solver where a4 users a skeleton sketch utilising the constraints of the sketch to solve the movement. I have a video in my collection showing how to create a scissor lift in a4. The a2 plus s
      takes longer to solve these movements but A2Plus is quicker to connect everything up. It's a long going problem as there is no standard workbench for assemblies so you have a choice of multiple. But freecad are solving that for a future release.

      Thanks for the comment. They are two separate developments that are taking two different approaches to assembling. The assembler 4 workbench make extensive use of local coordinate systems that can be added and aligned with the parts which then allows them to be aligned to other parts. Assembler 4 allows the use of a master sketch as a skeleton which can have the LCS attached to it and then the LCS of the model is attached to that. I have a tutorial that I just released to the channel this week covering how to build a scissor lift with assembler 4. That takes you through the process from scratch and you will see the differences.

    Hello, MangoJelly Solutions. Thanks for your tutorial.
    I'm trying to understand how these A2plus Constraints work.
    You are the first person I hear saying that in A2plus the circular movement of a piece needs a second piece of interaction. I've been suspicious of this for a long time. You helped me a lot by mentioning this. But I realize that this only occurs in circular movements, with the application of the circularEdge constraint. I did tests on linear movements using the pointOnLine constraint and planeCoincident constraint. In this case, I did not need a second piece for the movement to occur when clicking the MovePartUnderConstraints button. Did you notice that too? This behavior with circularEdge constraint is not said on the assembly's official page.

      Thank you for your comments and sorry about the delay in getting back to you. A2Plus can be quit confusing sometimes. I haven't work with A2Plus for a long time and the video has been in my release queue for a while. I have a project coming up soon where I am going to be using the workbench extensively so I will be in a better position then to answer your questions. I am leaning more towards the Assembly4 workbench with freecad 0.19 so maybe that will be more intuitive. But I will get back to you on the subject so bare with me. I was in furlough when I created the majority of the videos and I am just getting myself into the routine of fitting my channel around work again. Apologies again for the late response.

    Now I can't seem to get the axles to lock next to each other with my other models... I keep flipping but it doesn't rotate around the axle, instead around the center of mass...

    I dont understand why we can not move under constraint if there's only 2 parts, why do we need third?

    Hmm, the move part under constraint doesn't work in my FreeCad...
