993 Porsche are up with suspension, you can stick 4 fingers between tire and fender, all 993 are like that from factory , purpose is to clear drive ways so won’t scratch the bumper Most 993 owners use it as a weekend car may be summer time
Misha, are you familiar with Singer's DLS Project? Here's a RUclips link - ruclips.net/video/Qghjl2tJsoo/видео.html - it's a 1972 Carrera RS, motor bored & stroked to 4 Litre, everything lighter and modernised. This was a US$2 million no expense spared project, I think Michelin even made custom tyres for it. There's a lot there to be inspired by when looking at the DSL cars, things don't need to be expensive to be special tho. edit: My bad, it's a 964. Has a duckbill like a 2.7 RS. Phone was clamped to the dash while I was watching in the drive thru LOL
@@qalba3016 The G50 transmissions in all 964s and 993s were developed by Porsche and made by Getrag. Porsche got parts from Mercedes-Benz at that time not for their cars, but for the Mercedes-Benz W124 500E which was assembled at Porsche.
The plans sound legit. Really enjoy the technical videos with Micheal. He is a knowledgeable guy who knows his stuff. Looking forward to the series to unfold. The owner must be as exited as we are.
This project is so interesting that I left the TV and came to watch on my PC just to be able to comment again! White 993 are sooo good looking, also sounds so good! Can't wait to see it ready to hit Nurburgring again! 🔥🔥 Thanks for showing us this project Misha and Manthey!
1 tip for everyone buying a used performance car. In the first week after purchase, get an alignment. I do it with all my cars and everytime some things are not right. You will be surprised how wrong it will be and how good it will drive afterwards.
I've a 1996 993 C2 iris blue metallic, 60,000 miles. Varioram. No CEL. No oil leaks. Six-speed G50 manny tranny. Tip top full concours multi-show winner. I've had people, at a red light, say: "Name your price."
Looking forward to this project, but as a 993 owner I’m also interested n the costs and budget as taking it to Manthey is an option for me. Just the Big Reds are like 8-9000k €’s on all four corners. Dry ice blasting sounds very tempting.
Het is zo wie zo verstandig om bij auto's ouder dan 10 jaar alle rubbers in de wielophanging te vernieuwen voor sportief gebruik, dit kan al een wereld van verschil opleveren, in positieve zin.
She is gonna be a sexy 911 MR 993 RS Evocation when your finished with her the owner came to the right place for his rebuild looking forward to watching this project
It would be awesome if you could teach us more regarding the Kinematic Toe that the 993 uses in the rear. I believe the loose feeling you got on the track was also due to the kinematic toe needing allignment
I’m interested in this project very much and hopefully get ideas from it. Looks like this will have serious €‘s thrown at it, will love to see the outcome. 🤘🏾
Dry ice is simply frozen CO2. No idea how the blasting works. But the dry ice goes from solid to gas - no liquid phase. I guess it is used as it is unlikely to damage the car, but the stream is powerful enough to remove dirt and some rust?
At 6 mins 15 secs, the guy mentions changing the brakes for the "Big reds" from 964 & 993 Turbo that everyone knows. For the 2wd 993 RS. the front calipers are the same as the Turbo variant, on the rears the body of the "Big red" is the same , but the 2wd RS, "Big red" has larger pistons fitted as does the GT2. Porsche obviously did this for a reason? If you are going into this as thoroughly as you appear to be using original Porsche parts., I would look into RS specific rear calipers.
I thought the 993 was notorious for snap oversteer and without electronics considered a death trap at speads. How do youb plan on combating the oversteer on a rear engine layout?
What is that thing sticking out the front lower vent before the passenger front wheel? Anyway, fun project, i'm a big Porsche fan so keep them coming 🤘
Misha when are you going to start you another of your own project car? I know the ringtactor is gone but I'd like to see you have something your own and if you are make video on the car please.
Ok...so modern components on a 30 year old chassis...and what about chassis Flex ? The rigidity of that chassis might be up to par by 1993 standarts...not by 2021. The same way we all saw that modern rubber and agressive compound didn't improve the cars dinamic...because the (old) suspension was not on par, we can conclude that, with all mods done, the dinamincs will not be what they potentiacialy could...because...the chassis rigidity was not adressed. Food for thought. Cheers
Yeah, braces between the shock mounts may be needed. But it is a RS variant Porsche so it may be okay already. I was more worried when the words 4 litre engine came up. This is an air cooled 911. It can probably be bored and stroked to 4 litre like Singer did with their DLS Project car and that's 500hp
@@rsajay6256 ...I think this is a box stock Carrera 2... They are building it to RS spec...without adressing chassis rigidity. And suspension bracing is not enough...body will Flex.
My mic was not set up correctly, hence it peaks sometimes. Luckily Michael is the one talking the most in this video :D

I believe the transmission on the 993 is made by Mercedes Benz
ESPECIALLY that period time they did share many parts including the transmission

Super intriguing project! I really look forward to seeing the car develop. Big shout out to Michael for giving us the glimpse.
So excited! I like how you’re showing an older car some love, most people don’t give a shit about anything but new cars.
Really looking forward to this project and to see the end result of what Michael and his guys will come up with. So I guess it will be a 993 CS
Sorry my big fingers pressed the wrong button. It was meant to say 993CS

Looking forward to the progress on this cool content misha 😀
Great project. I run the exact same Cargraphic back boxes and X-Pipe with sportscast on my 993. It’s a great system, don’t touch it.
Im impressed with the flat floor, i guess thats an advantage of rear engine layout.

Will always love the shape of a clean 993 like that. With all the mods it will also be a very well behaved one.
Nice stuff misha
The work to be done, and the dry ice cleaning excites me and its not even my car ! 🤣

By changing out bushings or something else?🤔
Either OEM replacement or a spherical alternative product
