One of the best duets in music history! Celine is fantastic, Barbra is beyond compare!!!!!!!!
Two of the best female vocalists on the planet.
Like David Foster said when he first started working with Celine in the late 1980's - 1) Everyone will know you by your first name, and 2) Barbra Streisand will know who you are. Barbra is Celine's singing idol (in English), so for Celine this was such a big thing. Barbra responded to her by saying " I know how you feel, i felt the same when i sang with mine - Judy Garland." Their voices are in some ways, quite different, but in some ways so similar. Celine has a great way of moulding her vocal to fit with whoever she's singing with. They are both beyond amazing.
Barbra is about 30 years older than Celine. Barbra is Celine’s favorite, it only makes sense that this would be magic!❤️☮️🙏
This is one of the greatest vocal harmonies I've ever heard.

BARBRA's voice was past it's prime, at this point. Still, she sounded beautiful and her tones were more full than the much younger Celine.

Barbara Streisand has held a note longer than anyone ever. She has so much depth.
This is a performance that really highlighted their differences as well as similarities… And they did blend so well that you couldn’t tell who was who at times. What an evenly matched to duet, and nobody tried to outsinge the other which I really like. It’s just very easy to listen to as well as exciting to listen to.

Can't blame the industry...they have gotten all the accolades and most of us have followed them from our teenage years....barbra didnt do live concerts for a long time...once i heard she was touring i went to Chicago from ontario to see her.
The two most perfect vocalists ever, Barbra is unmatched, Celine is a very close second to Barbra but not by much.
The voice of Dion is like a sirene.
I think, you are one of the best narrators, who really understands the voice, the music, and the quality of the song!
Never gets old! This is how to treat your man! You should treat him with respect and listen to his worries and triumphs. These women give you goosebumps with every song. Note that Streisand was in her 50s at the time of this recording - about the age Celine is today. It’s really amazing how well Streisand’s voice has held up. I’m not sure Celine, Mariah will be singing as well in their 70s.
Celine will sound just as good in her 70s. Like you said, she’s in her 50s right now, and she sounds amazing like Barbra did in her 50s.
Celine Dion is already getting high praise across the board for holding up her voice in her 50s… I guess from everybody except you. There’s no reason to doubt that she would be able to do as well in her 70s. Besides, that’s 20 something years from now, why judge her now? It’s not like she’s declining like some people.
@@Rosannasfriend Streisand is still performing and her voice has declined but is still remarkable for her age. And she still sells tickets and CDs. Celine can certainly still sing very well in her 50s. The hard part for her is can she still sell her power ballads in her 70s when her voice will likely be not as strong. I have no idea. But history shows it's very unlikely for any singer to maintain their popularity and voice into thier 70s. What Celine has going for her is Vegas. She is the new Wayne Newton and probably will be able to keep that going forever regardless how her voice ages. Celine's voice has certainly declined from her peak in the 90s. Just as Streisand's 90s voice had declined from her 70s/early 80s peak. Why do you think Celine lip syncs some songs in her concerts and her new stuff doesn't have as many vocal acrobatics as her earlier stuff? Celine is one of the great vocalists, but she's still human and we all get older. That's not taking anything away from her. It's just the way life works.
Céline unfortunately has been sidelined by a neural disorder. As to Mariah "If You Can You Should, Every Damn Time" Carey, uh, let's just talk about Céline and Barbra...😉

You can tell. Barbra Streisand has an absolutely unique tone to her voice. Instantly recognisable.
I am a devoted fan of Barbra ever since I saw her as a child about around 11yrs old. When she sang People I have been a fan ever since.
She was on a television show . I cried during her performance that was my first time being emotional over a song sung by Barbra usually it's a church song I would cry., but any way. I want you to check out

Walter Afanasieff he is also behind Celine´s biggest song ever, My Heart Will Go On, he has worked on many songs with Celine at the same time he worked with Mariah his sound is unique and magical I love him and I love David Foster to.

I grew up listening to Celine Dion and most of her albums. They all hold a special place in my heart and this is one of those songs.. so so beautiful. I always tear up hearing this one. They just sound so incredible together. So so much love.

Love them both. Barbara became a star on Broadway at a time before performers were micced & had to be able to project to the back of the house & over the orchestra. That takes power & constant training equal to an opera singer. At a time when all Broadway stars needed that, even then Barbara stood out, miles beyond established stars. No surprise she became a superstar with her first lead. Her perfect pitch is legendary. Celine is also famous for perfect pitch, she also has the nickname “one take” as that’s all it ever takes her. She wants to do more, but others followed David Fosters lead, he drove her crazy in the early days cutting after one take but she has admitted he was always right, he knew he had magic & saw no need to mess with it. She gave up fighting after the Titanic battle. She didn’t want to do the song, he convinced her to do a rough demo & decide. That demo is in the movie exactly as cut.
Your appreciation for fine vocals is a joy to watch! Babs doing Foster’s arrangement of Somewhere from West Side Story will utterly destroy you- in a good way!

I wish young làdies should listen to this song so they know how to treasure their man! I'm 62 y/o and we were taught how to work to show our husbands our love thru actions. If you make him happy,, it makes you feel happy. Women demand so much now. I've got nephews who can't keep up with their women's demands. I don't get the laziness of today's young women.

This just pop up and I Love that song. Fun fact: Barbara sang first on tape in LA and send it to NY where Celine record her part after, adjusting with full respect for her idole, then they sent the result to Barbara for her aprouval. few month later they met to shout that video and never realy sang it together. Magic !
Hello Patrick, fyi, the beautiful blonde in the background is David Foster's wife - Linda Thompson, she was one of the writers.
She was also in a relationship for 4 1/2 years with Elvis Presley.
Have always wondered whether Linda had him in mind when she was writing.
