Great video! I just picked up a pair of the Ace myself while traveling, can't wait to get home and use them in conjunction with the Arc soundbar. This was the main feature that sold me! Again, good informative video.

Awesome video man. How did they fair for gaming for you? I’ve been strongly considering versus the Audeze Maxwell.
Hey Dark Sage, thanks for watching man! Okay, for gaming, they definitely don't sound as robust as the Audeze Maxwell. The Maxwell gives much more EQ adjustments and better for hearing footsteps and overall just a much more versatile and customizable sound. Also, the Sonos Ace won't really easily allow you to use the mic for party or in-game chat if that's something you do (you'll need that dongle I mention in the gaming headset video). What the Sonos Ace definetly has going for it, is by far, the BEST noise cancelling compared to any gaming headset out there for sure and the EASIEST to switch between different consoles and TV streaming devices (just tap the audio swap button, and BAM like magic). The sound quality on the Ace while gaming is really good in its own right (spectacular actually, considering it doesn't have the PlayStation Tempest 3D audio enabled when using it via Audio Swap), BUT it's just not as versatile EQ and feature wise as something like the Audeze Maxwell for sure.
All this to say, the fact that we're even comparing Sonos Ace to top tier gaming headsets like the Audeze Maxwell at all is saying something. Sonos Ace is overall a more versatile headset that can be rocked on a plane, when going outside, and far more applications than the beefy Audeze Maxwell, but just not as versatile for gaming specifically. Also, I'm sure some people will say it has more audio latency than the Maxwell and other gamign headsets using 2.4Ghz connection, but in all honesty, if there is latency, it doesn't personally affect my gameplay at all in call of duty or any other game i've played.

@@Darkk_Sage haha i'm contemplating! just don't feel it's a fair battle if we're to talk about its function specifically for gaming vs all other applications.
I feel like someone who wants a headset for primarily for everyday use and single player games would go for the Ace and others who care more specifically for gaming and competitive multiplayer would go with the headsets in the best ps5 headset video. We shall see!
I already have bose ultra, senn m4, sony uw, b&w px8, bose qcU and i want another headphones to my collection, so...which one you can recommend me? The sony xm5 or sonos ace? I have sonos beam but i cant use the feature since its only compatible with sonos arc, thanks a lot
@@jorgeluisfernandez2560 Hey Jorge, thanks for watching and nice to see another headset collector here! hmm if I cared more about music listening experience and audio fidelity, I would go with the Sony XM5. If I cared more about the look of the headset and was going to mainly watch movies and RUclips/podcasts, then I would go with the Sonos Ace. Also, I'm sure Sonos will add the audio swap feature to sonos beam soon enough hopefully. Would be weird if they didn't 🤔
I use the Sony XM5’s and they are great. Re gaming I can simply connect a 3.5mm cable from them to my Xbox Series X controller with no issues or adapters.

Anyhows, at the end of your video, you ask to leave a comment if we had any questions ... i was wondering, and it looks like you did some thorough testing, would you recommend the Audeze Maxwell or the Sonos Ace, if one wants to use it for both gaming and tv watching 🤔 One is a dedicated gaming headset, and the other is not. I heard the PS5 does not, officialy, recognize bluetooth. Thats what worries me for going with something like the Sonos Ace. If you say, there are no problems with the Sonos, like connection issues, latency while gaming on the PS5 or connecting to Apple devices like Ipad, or iPhone, than i would chose the Sonos Ace ... what are your thoughts 🤔 I'm sorry this was a long question 😅

As for your inquiry,
1) If you have the Sonos Arc speaker currently AND don't care much for having voice chat mic functionality on ps5, then yes I would go Sonos Ace. Plus you get added benefit of a very nice pair of headphones for everyday use outside and on flights. Even if you don't have the Sonos Arc, you can buy a little usb-c dongle from Amazon and plug it into ps5 to use it as a gaming headset (I talk about this more in depth in my 2024 best ps5 headset video)
2) The Audeze Maxwell will give you more versatility in the EQ sound profiles while gaming, as well as a great mic which is really beneficial if you play with friends a lot or like to use voice chat in general. It also sounds better for music imo than the Sonos Ace.. at least makes it sound more exciting to me. Haven't used it for watching TV shows but imagine it would pair with most smart TVs without any issue via bluetooth. Def not the best for everyday use outside though as it's pretty bulky and heavy.

I tried the Ace in the store, and the whole store basicly disappeared when i turned on the noice canceling, haha ... such a weird experience when you try it for the first time.

I am just waiting to see if or when Sonos will release the Arc 2, perhaps this year (rumors), and if they will add dts and bluetooth to the new arc ... or perhaps they ll release a beam gen 3. We shall see, i suppose.
