Perhaps using a standard sponge-cut 4 wedges off (from the corner) in 2 sealable plastic containers (one for glue-one for each paint color) Wet with water and use for both glueing and applying paint to the small pieces would not only speed up production but can also conserve and preserve glue and paint for multiple production days? Left overs can also be used on a different project or testing another prototype. Just a suggestion when producing multiple of same and similar designs. Maybe worth trying-especially as seasonal designs tend to use basic same seasonal colors. By the way-nice work and thank you for displaying your process 😊

Should treated the knots because they will bleed through in time. Usually use shellac to treat.
