Went to the theatres earlier with my parents to watch it and I'll be damned, I did not for once expect that I was going in for a treat!
My mom invited me a few days ago because she got an extra ticket and I walked in not expecting anything at all, but by the end of the movie, I had already got done crying for probably the 10th time and everyone else around me was crying too, including my mother and father.
The cinematography reminded me of story-type advertisements which made it really pretty, especially the close-ups to the actors, and I really really enjoyed the plot, how it progressed and the developments of each characters, heart touching.
I believe the directors & actors succeeded so much on bringing to life the Malaysian culture and lifestyle, through the little details of hanging out in a restaurant to 'lepak', the diversity of friend groups, mixing languages while you converse with people, and just the feel of a traditional Malaysian household.
I enjoyed watching this movie, and believe watching it with your family enhances the experience even more, seriously, go check it out!!
(Plus, I want to applaud so much on the soundtrack, I really enjoyed both the song & tracks played during different scenes)

A film directed by a Malay, script written by a Malay, Mandarin theme song sang by a Malay, released for Chinese New Year. None can claim more Out of the box than this one. 👍 Thank you!!! 🙏

Frankly speaking most people just follow the trend or whatever is most popular, just like CNY movies, most Malaysians 🇲🇾 will automatically choose movies from Hong Kong or Singapore with the same old (lame and shallow) story of getting rich (by gambling), only people with a strong mentality to break free from sociatal expectations (like in the theme song sang by Issac Choo suggested) will consider supporting a meaningful movie like Rain Town. What a shame. 🙏😔
